The Macanudo Emissary France Toro 6x52 is the second release in the Emissary line and a sharp left turn from anything else in the Macanudo portfolio. Following the success of the Emissary Espana, the brand built a cigar around a standout ingredient; a four-year-aged French-grown filler leaf. It was sourced from the Mugron River Valley near Bordeaux, an area better known for wine than cigars. Rolled at STG Danli in Honduras, the blend starts with a beautiful 10-year-old Ecuadorian Habano wrapper that’s leathery to the touch. Underneath is a 10-year-aged American Broadleaf binder. The core includes the standout 4-year-old Bordeaux filler, plus 7-year-old Brazilian Arapiraca,10-year-aged Dominican Piloto, and 8-year-aged American Broadleaf. The smoke delivers notes of salted fruit, earthiness, and dried fruit finishing with a slightly tangy texture like roasted fig skin or aged balsamic. This medium-bodied Toro comes in boxes of 16.
