Excalibur I Disappointingconsistent tough draw! Liked the El Ray Delmundo much better! 3 5 1
Excalibur I I found the draw on this to be inconsistent. Some were impossible to get through without modifying with a probe. Great smoke after that. 3 5 1
Excalibur I Really good day smoker been buying them for 10 years + 4 5 1
Excalibur I Tried these and found at least half would not stay lit outer wrapper would peel off hard (like a tree branch in the inside). Read all the pluses but my batch was not worth the price. 1 5 1
Excalibur I Great cigar for everyday when I have the time for a long smoke. Definitely will continue ordering. Agree that there is some inconsistent draw but that's true of others at more than double the price 4 5 1
Excalibur I Been smoking these for years and always found them a good value with consistent quality. I go through about 2 to three bundles a month. Over the last six months the quality has been inconsistent with frequent tough draws and thin wrappers. May have to find another regular smoke. Too bad. 2 5 1
Excalibur I I've long smoked Hoyo de Monterrey Excaliber Churchill's so I was a bit trepidated trying the JR. Brand of these fine cigars. I've smoke a number of them in order to gain a good insight into these private label cigars and needless to say that I'm impressed! From the initial cut and light through the entire smoke I wholeheartedly recommend these cigars as a ready substitute to the Excalibur I's especially if you are smoking at least one a day. I would have given them a five star rating cross the board but there are very minor issues. The draw is normally very consistent but on two of my first ten smokes there was a noticible variation in the intensity of the draw needed to keep the smoke flowing. Very minor but know that this might happen to you as well. The only noticible difference in the construction of the JR is that the wrapper is noticibly darker than the Excaliber. Nothing serious but it is noticible. Flavor is outstanding in comparison to the Excalibur! The real bonus here is the price difference between the JR and the Excalibur! A third of the cost with nothing sacrificed makes these private labels well worth the time and cost! 4 5 1
Excalibur I Excalibur number one (alternative) has become very hard to draw. 2 5 1
Excalibur I A good cigar for those who like me are without deep pockets and enjoy a good tasting cigar 4 5 1
Excalibur I if its a hard draw use a wire ...if its 1/2or 3/4 finish we can throw it awaynot a $8.00 cigar 3 5 1
Excalibur I Somewhat inconsistent. Some burn nicely with a tapered ash at the lit end. Others open upon lighting like a budding flower and continue to unwrap as the stick burns. 3 5 1
Excalibur I Good tasting cigar but draw is a problem. Cut 2 off end and fixes the draw. Overall it is a good smoke and to me it is better constructed than a true Excaliber. Too many flaws in the real Excaliber. Buy these off and on and only complaint is the draw. I will continue to buy them but always cut off a couple inches. For the price they are execellant and are long enough that the 2 cut still makes it a good deal. Very good medium strength. 3 5 1
Excalibur I This is a great cigar for the price. Also want to say that JR is now the only place I shop for cigars. My order only takes 2 days until it's in my mail box. others take over a week or two. 4 5 1
Excalibur I For the price the JR Alternative to the Excalibur I is generally a good deal. Rich full bodied flavor when you have the time to fully enjoy a good cigar. The only drawback to this cigar is the occasional inconsistency which causes it to burn unevenly. This is a great disappointment when you have settled in for a good smoke and find half of it gone because it has burned down one side. It doesn't happen so often that I have stopped ordering them but just enough to be annoying. 4 5 1
Excalibur I Great flavor just like the real stuff! Bundles are consistent overall with good construction and burn. Jr alternatives are an excellent everyday smoke. Can't go wrong trying your alternative favorite! Always worth the money. 3 5 1
Excalibur I the alternative series is a great value. Well made tasty and a good consistent draw. But I don't think the alternative names really mean anything. All cigars of the same size and wrapper seem to be the same. 4 5 1
Excalibur I JR Alternatives in any shape and size never disappoint. Gave less than full stars on consistency just because lately there have been 2-3 per bundle that were a little tight. Certainly doesn't stop me from making this my go to everyday stick! 4 5 1
Excalibur I If like me you have some expensive tastes but a limited cash flow you might like these as much as I. Excalibur I is a tremendous stogie with a great draw full (medium) flavor and consistency. The JR Ex. 1 is close to exactly like the original but it much easier on my wallet. I've smoked them for years and have seldom run into a poorly made one. This is a consistently pleasing smoke always fresh and the price can't be beat. 4 5 1
Excalibur I These are pretty good, but not quite as good as the original. The cigar is well constructed and the draw is just a little tight. I've only smoked about 8 of these so far but probably 4 were just a bit tight. I have a cigar saver that I had to use to open them up, but the flavor is pretty good. 4 5 1
Excalibur I I have smoked these for years and have been pleased with the value. However, the batch that I smoked ( before the batch I have now) had about 5-6 cigars that were packed so tight that they were almost unsmokable. Thankfully the batch I have now smoke fine 4 5 1
Excalibur I A very good alternative. Have smoked many bundles . 3 5 1
Excalibur I Ive previously expressed my dissatisfaction with these cigars, that being said, i must also now give credit when due. Last few bundles have been excellent, restored my confidence. Very good !! 5 5 1
Excalibur I Perfect 5 5 1
Excalibur I While the cigar is fine the service has become horrible. Your order sits for days. You contact customer service and they don’t even respond. I won’t be ordering again. This is not a one time event. 1 5 1
Excalibur I Compared to the name brand, this cigar has a firmer draw. The name brand is not as dense. This cigar lasts longer. Flavor wise, it is pretty close. In some aspects I prefer the jr brand and others the name brand. I will definitely keep buying these. 4 5 1
Excalibur I Great cigars. 5 5 1
Excalibur I Sometimes the cigars are a little old. This time after 2 bundles good! U have to give a few better deals on the alternatives once in a while! 5 5 1
Excalibur I Great smoke for the money.................................. 4 5 1
Excalibur I Consistently great cigar 5 5 1
Excalibur I Nice tasting smoke 4 5 1
Excalibur I First this is not a light brown or tan wrapper. It is not quite a true Maduro but closer to a maduro than a tan wrapper. Some smoke better than others. Overall a very enjoyable cigar. Like the size. 4 5 1
Excalibur I Been smoking these alternates for years and rarely get a bad one! 5 5 1
Excalibur I Strong flavors, long smoke. Might be too much for some. 4 5 1
Excalibur I Unfortunately the cigars were stale; outer wrapper flaked off. 1 5 1
Excalibur I I smoke this cigar regularly. Sometimes they burn very irregularly, but the price is good. 5 5 1
Excalibur I I have bought these several times. The last two bundles have been very disappointing. They are dry and split open when you cut them. I let them age a bit in my humidor hoping they would improve but no. Th shipping from JR has gone downhill. I doubt I will be ordering from JR again. 2 5 1
Excalibur I My favorite JR Alterhative. 5 5 1
Excalibur I Great mellow draw. Even burn with darn few (if any) "canoes" in your bundles. You can't beat this cigar for the price. This is definitely NOT the typical inexpensive offering that you find loaded with scrap fillers. 5 5 1
Excalibur I These are enjoyable. Not as easy draw as the original. I also prefer the wrapper on the original. I have gone through many bundles of these. I smoke these almost daily. 4 5 1

Excalibur I Worst cigar I ever had, Does not burn even. The end crumbles.Hard to draw. Take me off your e mail list as I get too many and will not buy. 1 5 1
Excalibur I Solid everyday smoke 4 5 1
Excalibur I Excellent smoke for the price. 5 5 1
Excalibur I These cigars have a medium strength and a very pleasant flavor. They burn very well and are very satisfying. A good long smoke. 4 5 1
Excalibur I Smooth smoke, burns well. 4 5 1
Excalibur I Up to you Cigar Aficionado's! You can smoke a HOYO Excalibur 1, or the JR's Alternative Excalibur 1. $8 - $10 a smoke, or $2.50 a smoke. I for one have a VERY difficult time telling them apart. I have a 500 Cigar Humidor, and though I have many "Name Brand" Cigars, most of my collection are from the JR's Alternative. v/r Gunny 5 5 1
Excalibur I Always have been satisfied 5 5 1
Excalibur I Well made, easy draw, medium to full body, price is right, a good every day cigar 5 5 1
Excalibur I I have bought these several times. For the most part I like these. Some of them are more bitter than I care for. Some tough draw. Overall I enjoy these. 4 5 1
Excalibur I I order these repeatedly. I am satisfied with the exception of getting a few in every order that burn very unevenly or throw out small bursts of burning ash. But overall a pleasant smoke. 4 5 1
Excalibur I Great cigar at a great price! 5 5 1
Excalibur I Customer service was excellent. I have ordered from JR Cigar for decades and if anything goes wrong they quickly take care of it. Like these cigars, the first 4 broke apart while smoking and JR sent me replacements. 5 5 1
Excalibur I Very good for the money. Every now and then I will get one that is packed too tight 4 5 1
Excalibur I Great smoke for the money. 5 5 1
Excalibur I Lovely cigars thank you 5 5 1
Excalibur I When you get a good bundle, they are a great smoke. Unfortunately, every bundle is not consistently rolled. This review is solely based on the bundle I have now - which is excellent. So far, 14 of the 15 have been great. For reference, I am not a newbie to cigars. 5 5 1
Excalibur I A good cigar for a change of pace. 5 5 1
Excalibur I I normally by Remidos but substitute these when not available. They’re a good alternative. 4 5 1
Excalibur I A good cigar for a good price 5 5 1
Excalibur I Good draw and burn. Nice smoke 5 5 1
Excalibur I It has been so long since the JR Alternative Excalibur I with natural wrap has been available, I don't even know why I keep checking. I have moved on to another source for the size and strength of cigar I like, that is as close to this Excal as I can get. It was a good run..... 4 5 1
