Sixty As an almost exclusive Rocky Patel smoker I am shocked at the poor construction of this cigar. I am halfway through the box and all but two of the cigars have unraveled and fallen apart slightly past the half way point of the smoke. Shocked and disappointed. 1 5 1
Sixty I was Pleasantly surprised about the taste and structure of this cigar. I am not an avid rocket material Rocky Patel fan but this cigar has definitely changed my mind 5 5 1
Sixty I can’t vouche for these directly from JR’s, but I have one of those upscale “Tobacco and Vape” stores 5min from my house that has a big walk in humidors. One of the nicer places and humidors that are definitely kept up with because the cigars are always perfect, practically brand new….but definitely aged to perfection. I typically like to stick around Robustos, so 50-54 ring and 5-6 inch length, mellow to medium and medium-full. So these are NOT something I ever really try due to the size and darker appearance. But I was in the humidor and a stranger walked in who was Probly double my age (I’m 37) and he and I are like kids in a candy store and we’re in there snagging random stick after random stick and by the time we realize it, both of us have 6-8 sticks each and he looks over to see that I have, which is my typical Connecticut robustas and I see he has these monsters that are all 54-60 ring gauge and 6-8 inch hog legs he’s holding in his hand. He holds one up and says “THIS…. is the Holy Grail, kid!!!….” And I reply “Nahhhh, you HAVE to snag one of these “Motecristo # 2 torpedo’s” and I hold it out for him. He cheerfully takes it, smiles and hands me “The Holy Grail” hog leg he was holding and assured me that despite the size it’s extremely good and it was genuinely his favorite cigar. So we each take eachothers cigar, exit the humidor, pay the cashier, shake hands and part ways. After 4 days in the humidor and a long day at the office, I worked up enough courage to fire this monster up and he wasn’t lying! This cigar is fantastic! Dark cocoa, hint of black cherry(still new to naming flavors, but I am a daily smoker) perfect burn, long ash…….”The Holy Grail” lol. I also punch holes, I don’t snip ends unless it’s a torpedo. I loved that interaction because 2 people, generations apart, from different backgrounds and ethnicity’s, were all irrelevant because we shared a common enjoyment/hobby and both offered eachother something the other genuinely liked. Would buy again, maybe a smaller one, but sometimes these monsters are nice to sit back for an hour or 2 and waste the evening away….Up in Smoke : ) 4 5 1
