Montecristo No. 2 This is a great cigar for everyday smoking. Very consistent and flavorful without being too strong. An excellent go to cigar. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 These will have a regular home in my humidor. I can't say that I've ever had the opportunity to smoke some of the high options many of the other reviewers have but I enjoyed this stick all the way through. Maybe it's not the greatest I've ever had but a solid daily driver with a great flavor and a nice rich smoke. Far better smoke than I would expect for the price. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Great smoke for the price. I expected bombs but enjoy these sticks and impressed with the flavor. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Very nice smoke. Today was my first time trying one and I have to say I am impressed. For two dollars per stick you really can’t beat it. I smoke plenty of cigars from these to drew estates and higher dollar smokes and this is a pretty good one. It will be my go to daily for a while. There is also a good one to give to friends and family who are visiting and not break the bank. Good job JR 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Holes in the wrapper on several and they all (so far) have almost instantly split. By the time I get it to light it looks like it exploded. I hate to waste anything so I've resorted to wrapping them in a old big label with painters tape to keep it together for a few minutes. I wouldn't put my name on these. 1 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Like VMG I am always skeptical of Cuban Monte #2 comparisons. I'm not going to make that comparison because I had the exact same experience as VMG. Here's what makes JR's comparible to the Cuban it is Med-Full wrapped tight with a silky smooth wrapper and it holds a long white ash up to 3. But you ain't gonna find no Cuban #2 5-pack for $11.40 USD. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 was a little leary of buying this brand. im usually by rocky patels. however this was an excellent smoke. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I am always skeptical about any cigar claiming to be like or attempting to approach a Cuban cigar especially the Montecristo No. 2. That said the cigar is fantastic. Is it like the real thing? Well...that depends on when you last had the real habano. If I were to compare it to the first no 2’s I smoked in the early 90’s then I’d say absolutely no. However my wife and I just shared a No. 2 from 2016-17 and it was very close. That said it is an excellent smoke and you should not be deterred. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 This is my favorite of the Alternative line. Well made tasty and consistent year after year you can't beat it got the price! 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Enjoyed these cigars. Good size for the drive to work. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 A surprisingly great stick!!! On wins while one will have a lifting wrapper (no different than any other premium cigar). I’m not 100% sold on the flavor similarity to a Monte #2 Cuban but a quality smoke nonetheless. I think they’re a tad over priced for a store brand but I will most likely buy them again. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 My bundle was very good. The wrappers were nice the draw was nice the burn was nice. I really enjoyed these cigars. I really appreciate JR making these affordable bundles. Thank you JR!! 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 The quality and consistency has down hill the last couple years. I have been smoking these for at least 15 years. Once they were great you would get bundle of 20 with 20 perfect cigars. They were very tasty good construction good draw and heavy smoke. But not anymore! I noticed about two years ago. Started getting bundles with around five duds. The duds were either rolled to tight to smoke or had one or two plugs in them Over time they started getting worse with even more duds per bundle. What is odd I usually buy two bundles at a time and would get one good bundle the other would full of duds The final last straw for me was this last December JR had the Cuban Alt Montecristo No. 2 on sale. I bought four bundles. Out of 80 cigars about 70 turned out to be duds. Had six with holes most the others as hard as broom sticks with no draw. Many in rage of temper I would break into and throw away. I will never waste my money these again. I have had bad experiences with many other Alternatives I have tried the last few years. I will never try them again unless JR starts doing some Quality Assurance on the products they sell under their own name. 1 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Yummy. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I lit my first one up before the delivery truck left my driveway and all since have been consistently perfect. It burned perfectly. Smooth draw. Billowing rich cloud of smoke. Medium bodied with distinctive flavors that gain in complexity as it smokes down to your fingertips. The flavors are not 'exactly' like a Cuban #2 which is more Full bodied and wrapped tightly like all good Cubans. The JR #2 has NOW replaced the Ramon Allones Heritage 652 as my daily and go-to cigar. $4.27 vs $2.19 Winner Winner JR Cuban Alternative after Dinner. :-) 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Terrible cigar first purchase with JR not a good experience. never stay lit very inconsistent little flavor 1 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Have liked this product for a few years. I keep it in stock in it's own humidor. Though not entirely consistent most bundles received perform as expected. A Medium to Full Strength (more on the medium side) cigar with a nice rich aroma and flavor. If I smoke it too fast / hot I loose the benefits and it can be somewhat harsh and flavorless. A great everyday at under $2.25 a stick with a nice easy draw generally even burn and a rather consistent construction. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Excellent cigar. I original bought it at the store in NC. Loved or and Have bougyit twice since. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Nice Cigar will purchase again. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I am a big fan of the JR Edicion Limitada and I decided to try the Cuban alternatives and this was a very solid cigar and I will definitely reorder. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 It is well constructed smokes well and is budget friendly 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Great smoke. My daily go to. However occasionally I get a box where most of them taste horrible like there is something wrong with them. Super annoying so I'm rating consistency as a 3 star. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars all the way around. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Great flavor/taste excellent aroma little if any nicotine No Pepper. Like this stick partly becuase it has no discernable pepper and a good aroma and flavor. I can space out my nicotine from other smokes to enjoy this. Purely tobacco flavor and aroma in this very pleasant and abundant smoke. An everyday in my book. Hope JR never changes this recipe. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Great stick for the price. Smokes consistent throughout. It's not a real Montecristo but it's real close. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 A friend of mine offered me one of these while playing golf with him. After smoking it I was hooked! Has great flavor and doesn't burn near the end of smoke!!! Great smoke for a fair price!! 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 This alternative was pretty good. For around 2 bucks a stick you can't go wrong. I would definitely recommend this as a good daily smoke. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I can't speak to its authenticity to a true Cuban but it does taste and feel like a montecristo 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 This is one of my favorite alternatives you cannot beat the taste for the price I recommend these to all my friends 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Starts off smooth and builds to a med to full body. Good draw and good construction. Smoked it to nub. Will be buying more and keep in stock. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Have heard about these Alternatives for years and decided to finally give them a try. I should have saved my money. They are hot construction is barely passable and they canoe. 2 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 For the price this is a good cigar. It's become my daily smoke. Very smooth medium smoke. I run into the occasional cigar with a firm draw which is my only real complaint. Overall very good especially for the price. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Great smoke easy to light and stays together gonna let the rest age for a while 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I was very surprised at how close it actually was! I have many numbers 2's and if you're a fan give these a smoke. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 great cigar for the every day smoke burns even good draw cant beat the price bin doing these a long time montecristo #2 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 best cigar ever for the price. Has been my favorite for a while. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Good cigar for its price. I have been smoking these cigar for some time and 90% of the time I have really been pleased by the consistency of cigar. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Nice price on a reliable smoke! For around tow dollars they are hard to beat and better than many of the other JR. Alternatives 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Although the price of this cigar has risen about 29% over the last several this JR Alternatve remains one of the best values around. I always keep a supply in my humidor and when I share them with friends they are amazed by the flavor and overall quality of this cigar. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I'm updating my review below. Today I received my third bundle of these cigars. I also visited my local cigar shop (a high-quality place) and bought two genuine Montecristo #2 cigars (retail cost: $21/ea). I smoked one of the genuines and one of the alts. The flavor was strikingly similar. I enjoyed them both very much but I enjoyed the alt slightly more. (Possibly because the alts are a larger ring size giving a thicker smoke.) Anyway I will continue ordering these regularly. I really enjoy them. For the price you can't beat 'em. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 truly great cigar 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Good consistent smokes. I'd buy 'em again. A great deal for the $. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Right out of the bundle I am really enjoying this stick. 1.5 inch white ash. Good flavors with a medium to long finish. Medium to full through the 2/3. Then it went and stayed solid medium. Not to bad. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I have been enjoying this JR Alternative for several years now and have made it my everyday smoke. It is well made consistent nice taste and affordable. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 These are no Fuente but are very good for the money! I will buy again. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Not bad for 2 bucks a stick 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 This is my overall favorite Jr Alternative smoke. I think I have smoked about a dozen bundles of this cigar and they all have been good They all have had great construction very consistent. excellent draw and good flavor. I have decided to make this my everyday smoke because it is tasty dependable and affordable. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 JR Alternative Cuban nice and mild. Occasional wrapper came loose. Easy to light and stayed lit. Burned relatively evenly. These paired well with cinnamon flavored bourbon. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Without a doubt; You will love this stick! 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Was a very nice cigar for a very good deal! Torpedos are my favorite and to have this option is just incredible. Good flavor and slow burn. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 One of the best share with your friends sticks on the list. Perfect for the short smoke after dinner on the patio by the pool listening to some good tunes 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 the more you smoke the more you need this cigar. If you are like me you enjoy a fine cabin cigar. Unfortunately that cigar comes with a hearty price tag when you can get it. This cigar is not a cabin cigar but for the price I can justify smoking a lot of them and not have to worry about filing for bankruptcy. The are above average for the price. 2 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Great smoke good from start to finish full body even smoke worth every penny! Great construction smooth even draw. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 You cannot beat JR Alternative cigars This is an excellent cigar at a fraction of the price of the real thing. I highly recommend 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Good cigar should have bought more. Perfect for a smoke with my buddies. Priced right and top quality. Would absolutely buy them again. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Average cigar. Great for the price and perfect for a golf outing. Has decent flavor and smokes well. Lacks depth and needs a better finish. This is a good beginner cigar and for the right price. Guess i may have expected to much. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 A pleasant smoke but I wouldnt call it a number 2 alternative. The wrapper on this particular cigar had a number of holes in it. Looks like a beetle got into this one. It wasn't enough to hurt the draw but there was some smoke escaping. Overall a good choice for the budget smoker and a good choice to pack up the humidor with a smoke for your friends who never bring their own. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 U have never had the original so no comparison there. What you do get with this stick is a well crafted tasty stick. Not bad at all. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 This is a fantastic cigar. Over the past twenty years I have tried to find a tried so many value cigars for a daily smoker and results always varied. Now I am extremely pleased with all of the JR Alternitives. This cigar pairs very well with hazelnut coffee in the morning and also pairs well with Glenlivet 15 year French oak scotch after a good grilled meal. These age and marry well in a seasoned humidor. Construction draw and flavors are beyond expetations for the price. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Great afternoon smoke at a great price! But wish they still had the Hemingway Signature alternative... 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Great smoke at a great price. Fast delivery as always from JR. Enjoyable anytime from breakfast coffee to after dinner. Always comes through with easy draw and smooth on the palate. Could be my new everyday smoker. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I've smoked probably over a hundred of these cigars and I really enjoy them. Every now and then one may burn uneven but otherwise they hold up well and taste really good 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 JR'S alternatives are always a good buy. You get the almost same smoke as the name brand but at a fraction of the price. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Jr Alternative is a great way to save m I new and have a great cigar. These have great flavor and medium to full body. They are great. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 JR Cuban Alternative Monticristo No. 2 is a quality smoke. It's full bodied rich flavor is filled with mature spices. Definitely would buy again! 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 A great way to try new cigars is to throw out a few bids at the auction. That is how I got these Monte alternatives. Very good cigar. Some flavors here you rarely get for this price. Don't believe me? Take the wrapper off and let an old guy smoke it. He will tell you it is damn good. Anybody under 30 will like it until you tell them what it is. Never tell them what it is. They can't handle it. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Any negative things I might say have to be weighed with the great price. I get an inconsistent burn on about 1 out of 4 of the Mont #2. Sometimes with holes burning through well in to the middle of the cigar. I continue to buy them because I can deal with the problems for that price 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Good smoke and flavor. I feel the wrapper was a little thin and light for my taste. Several unraveled upon lighting. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 For the price they are an excellent smoke. Rosa Cuba are also a delightful smoke 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I have been buying cigars from JR for over 20 years. 18 of which were great. The last 2 years have been going from bad to worse. It seems there is absolute 0 QC for JR alternatives anymore and worse the price continues to go up. I no longer find JR Cigar a Value. 2 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Bitter. Most were very bitter right out of the bundle. Draw was inconsistent and I had to relight many over and and over. Disappointed. 2 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Was surprised . liked the flavor and the even burn and the draw. reordered just today. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Now my daily smoke. Has its own humidor. Awaiting my 3rd order. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Never disappointed with the quality of this cigar. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 👍 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Good cigar for the price. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Not really close to a #2 but still enjoyable smoke. Burns well, good volume of smoke. Not very complex but would qualify as a nice every day cigar. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I've smoked these for years. They have gone down in quality. Most had very hard draw. Uneven burn . Had to throw about 1/3rd of the cigar away because of uneven burn. Lower half would burn away, while the upper half would be unburned. Flavor was just ok. Some seemed to have a bitter taste to them. All in all not a consistent smoke out of a 20 pack bundle. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 not as consistent as last bundle of 20. seemed a little too peppery for my palate. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 This smoke is what you should expect for the price. It burns my tongue and has a chemical flavor every few sticks. 2 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Great smoke. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Smokes well. Light and good flavor. Burns too quickly at the end, though. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Good smoke but needs floavor 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I like your JR alternatives, however you send WAY too many emails, if you could just inform me when JR alternatives are on sale it would be great. If I continue getting so many emails I will have to block them, I don't want to do that. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I used to shop at JR because of value and quality now after this order I can't say anything positive. This will be my last order from them. The product was dry, like almost old. I had them in the humidor and they seem to be passable now but just going to take my bussiness elsewhere. 1 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Inexpensive is the only posditive attribute I can think of with respect to this. You used to make a cood alternative but over the last couple of years the quality has gone to hell, big time. 1 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Good cigar at a reasonable price. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Not as fresh as they should be. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Cigars are great. Support lousy. Have had last 3 orders cancelled for no reason. When I call no one can tell why. No help. Wait time 1 hr. I gues they don’t care about my business. 1 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 good 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Great flavor well constructed nice draw 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 A very good everyday cigar with good flavor. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 This is my third purchase and it beats my last batch. Nice crisp smoke with a continuous burn. Little Vanilla whiskey and you will feel rewarded. Last batch had two fall apart with a constant burn issue. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 These have been my favorite for a long time. Good tobacco and well rolled most of the time. This last order has suffered because the rolling has been pretty poor. 2 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 No taste but only have smoked two so far 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Most of the cigars from this order had good draw & flavor. In the past, some of the cigars I ordered had a very tough draw & therefore had a negative effect on the flavor. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 disappointing; harsh, inconsistent 2 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I’ve had real Cuban Montecristo No. 2’s and these are amazingly close...IMHO these are a screaming deal! 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 **** 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Very nice smoke. Smooth flavor and slow burn. I highly recommend. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 would buy again 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I love these cigars and they are my go-to daily smoke. Well made, beautifully rolled, nice even draw, and excellent flavor. Not too "bold", but enough to be a great, full-bodied cigar. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Iv never had a real No. 2 so I can’t speak on the similarities between the two, but this is a solid smoke nonetheless. Good construction, nice easy draw and quite flavorful. Great overall smoke for the price. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Way worth to try !!! 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Very good cigar .......... 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 These are my new favorite. Smooth draw, great flavor and pleasing aroma. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Construction could be a little better and the cigar is mild until the end of second third but immediately goes to medium+. The finish is very short and the only flavor that I get is pepper. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Very solid quality cigar. Price is excellent. Only complaint is sometimes the draw is not good. Rolled to tight. Otherwise very good quality. Most people cannot tell the difference without the wrappers. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 best for the money 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 none 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 This is a great cigar for everyday smoking. Very consistent and flavorful without being too strong. An excellent go to cigar. 5 5 1

Montecristo No. 2 Although the price of this cigar has risen about 29% over the last several this JR Alternatve remains one of the best values around. I always keep a supply in my humidor and when I share them with friends they are amazed by the flavor and overall quality of this cigar. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 truly great cigar 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Right out of the bundle I am really enjoying this stick. 1.5 inch white ash. Good flavors with a medium to long finish. Medium to full through the 2/3. Then it went and stayed solid medium. Not to bad. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Good consistent smokes. I'd buy 'em again. A great deal for the $. 3 5 1
Montecristo No.
2 Great afternoon smoke at a great price! But wish they still had the Hemingway Signature alternative... 4 5 1
Montecristo No.
2 Jr Alternative is a great way to save m I new and have a great cigar. These have great flavor and medium to full body. They are great. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 JR'S alternatives are always a good buy. You get the almost same smoke as the name brand but at a fraction of the price. 5 5 1
Montecristo No.
2 For the price they are an excellent smoke. Rosa Cuba are also a delightful smoke 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Good smoke and flavor. I feel the wrapper was a little thin and light for my taste. Several unraveled upon lighting. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Really nice and smooth for the price, gets a little heavy after you smoke more than half, but well worth it especially after sitting in my humidor for a few weeks 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Construction and draw were good. Medium strength, a one dimensional cigar. When they go on sale with free shipping, worth trying. I’ve had a couple of the real Cuban Montecristo #2’s and these are not even in the same galaxy..... 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Generally a good smoke once in awhile you'll get one that doesn't burn even. Price beginning to climb. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 It's a nice cheap cigar. That's it, that's all. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Consistently good draw. Good for the price. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 This is a great moderately priced cigar. I have never been disappointed with the JR Brand. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 These are great JR alternatives 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 The cigars received were very dry. They have been in humidor to try to save. 2 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Just got done with an Alternative that has been in my humidor for about a year or more. I have 2 bundles of the Monte 2 Alternative (says something about the cigar..don't it). I have about 400+ Habanos in one of my humis and I have the other stuff in a separate (over 1200). I just finished the Alternative alongside the original Monte 2. Yeah, its definitely an alternative. Its a great smoke. Nuances of pepper, leather, hay and grass, a great cigar. The original? Much more creamy and complex. Does that make the Alternative a bad cigar? HELL NO! Get some, its a delicious cigar, well made, and smokes very well. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Good cigar for the price 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Very reliable smoke. Affordable everyday smoke. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 This is a great cigar for the price. Mild, good burning cigar that you can smoke to the end. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Great value 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 After years of smoking cigars, I have finally found my everyday cigar. JR’s alternative Montecristo Number 2 is perfect for me; mild, flavorful and reasonably priced. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Great cigar 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 good smoke 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Great cigar with a consistent flavor from start to finish. Shipping is usually quick but these actually took about a week. I will definitely order more. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Very good quality only thing is it burns quickly but that’s ok 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Been smoking a more expensive name-brand stick as my go-to for a couple of years but I've definitely found a replacement. These smokes are fantastic from the lighting to the little nub you'll hate having to put out. They are smooth yet give you plenty of billowy smoke and a flavor that will make you wonder if you were somehow sent a box of Cubans by mistake. I highly recommend giving these smokes a try. You won't regret it. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Good 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 This is a very substantial alternative to the real thing. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 A good daily. My 3rd order. Only a couple canoed but straightened out. No disappointments. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 This bundle was nice! Nearly all burned nicely and were enjoyable. Good wrapper and construction. Found a nice value with this one. Ordering more. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Good 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 This cigar much better than Key West, still delivered a little dry, however, recovered well for 4-5 in Hummidor. Great Smoke ! 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I really expected a better smoke from JR. I have been buying their brand on and off for 25 years and this one was disappointing. 2 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Not a bad cigar by any means good value for money 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I have smoked cigars for over 50 years. I'm very knowledgeable, and experienced, with a wide variety of brands and prices. I agree with an old quote of Lew Rothman. In an interview for Cigar Aficionado (during the boom of the 90s), he said, " I was asked ,"what's a good $10 cigar?". I told the guy,"a $2 cigar with 8 one dollar bills wrapped around it. A cigar is just tobacco. Find one you like. He acknowledged all the time, work, skill, knowledge, etc., that goes into creating a "premium" cigar. But, also that most of the price is marketing hype. I just bought 2 bundles of the edicion limitado sampler on sale, at $2 per stick. That is the best deal in the cigar market! But, some of these cigars cost $3+?, at the regular price. I live on a fixed income. I smoke 2-3 cigars each day. I can afford $2. I don't distinguish between special occasion cigars, and "daily smokers". I only smoke cigars that have flavors I like. I know plenty of good cigars, at $2 or less. I would smoke the Edicion Limitadas, especially the Cohiba Behike No. 6, everyday. As long as I get them, and others, on sale, and stock up. All cigars need time in a humidor. Cuban cigars are rushed to market, and need about 1-3 years before smoking! The JR ELs came ready to smoke. The bundles were in zip lock bags, which included Boveda packs. Plus, they had obviously sat in a humidor for some time. Because the cellophane on each was stained yellowish brown from the cigar oils. They were beautiful!! I smoked a Behike #6 right out of the box. It was delicious! And, the rest get better everyday. They will be a real treat after 30 days!!! I hope JR will lower the overall prices on the ELs. I ordered some regular alternatives, and they sent me the wrong ones. But, luckily they were a great Dominican figuardo ("mystery bundle") the "Obsequios". JR customer service is terrible!! They don't answer e-mails trying to cancel the mistake order, I sent immediately after receiving their order conformation e-mail And, it takes over an hour to get through on the phone. Famous Smoke Shop Customer Service answers on the 2nd ring. Where I ordered Drew Estate Factory Smokes, for $1.50 each. A very good cigar!! With large corporations controlling the cigar world (Altadis, General Cigar, etc.. It's hard to figure out their marketing strategies, back orders, etc.. W WE JUST WANT TO SMOKE GOOD CIGARS!! The wealthy, the snobs, the ignorant, will pay lots of money for PERFECT cigars. But, the majority of the US, and world want a good $2 cigar, of different flavors to suit our different palates. I wish JR (Altadis) would realize this , and provide these cigars on a regular basis. So we could fill our humidors (Tupperware, etc.)within our budgets of $50-$150 a month on average. Out of all the online cigar retailers, JR has the best "Alternatives, seconds, etc.). If they provided several quality $2 cigars, on a regular basis, we"regular guys/girls" would be regular customers. Instead of searching the other major online vendors (Famous, CI, etc.), for sales on the same products JR sells, that are not currently on sale, and priced at $3+. Which is a really fair price for the Edicion Limitadas, for example. But, limits our enjoyment, because we smoke 2-5 cigars each day. And, have to choose a "Daily Smoke", that for alot of people is a sub quality cigar (cuban sandwich, or faulty construction, ingredients, etc.). So, our cigar community is not fancy cigar stores/lounges/country clubs. It's wasting good cigar smoking time searching for sales. Instead of having 5-10 good $2 cigars on one website. Well, I've rambled on enough with this. I've built a substantial Tupperware humidor/s, filled with 5 good/great cigars, that will get even better over time. And, I'm going to sign off, go outside, and smoke an Edicion Limitado. And, think about whether this review/opinion will be read by anyone/everyone who can cause a change 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I have been smoking cigars for over 30 years, and was a guest reviewer for the now defunct “Smoke” magazine back in the 90’s. I have A humidor full of vintage Cuban cigars. These Montecristo #2 alternatives (I’ve smoked many boxes of the real thing) are very similar in their flavor profile. Not exact, but quite similar, and overall excellent tasting. Excellent burn and construction as well, in fact the burn and draw blows away the Dominican Montecristo #2 I’ve tried, many of which were very flawed, and much milder than their Cuban counterparts. Not bad tasting, but not worth $10 per stick in my opinion. And for the price, I think they are one of the best values in the market, bar none. A great everyday smoker that easily stand up to much more expensive cigars. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Tasty, even burn, good draw and a GREAT price! 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 These have one consistent quality. Construction. I have smoked several now and each one looks amazing. Then you light them and each one tastes different. There is no consistency in flavor. They are not bad smokes. I just never know what the next ones flavor profile will be. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 My first purchase from jr. cigars seem to be overly dry. Outer wrapper came off when cutting the tip. Willing to try a second time. Hope it won’t be a pattern. 2 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I have smoked 6 of these already. I love the draw. Just the right amount of resistance for me. The construction is also amazing on these. Sure you might get some incosistencies, but for the price, you are REALLY getting a GREAT cigar. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Fantastic cigar 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Whoever said these were alternatives to the Cuban Montecristo #2’s must’ve been smoking something other than a cigar! Not even close, don’t waste your money, I smoked half of one and threw the rest out! 1 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Only picked up 1 bundle of these, will definitely get more. Construction, burn, consistency, smell, and flavor, all exceeding expectations. While I cannot comment on how closely it matches the Monte #2, it is itself a really good stick that IMO can stand on its own. Nicely done 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Good cigar 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Great cigar - took too long to be delivered 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 VERY MILD THE DRAW WAS MOOTHE VERY GOOD TASTE .VERY MILD 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Good value. But smokes fast 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 My go to cigar! 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Received cigars as ordered. Excellent smoke. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Great everyday stick and an excellent value. This is my go-to cigar when I need a break from the day and am looking to relax. It has a smooth draw, and, while no one will confuse it with a $20 stick, it is perfect for it's price point. I have bought this cigar consistently and it is a great way to fill up the humidor at a reasonable cost. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Very good value, smooth draw, long lasting, not a bitter taste, my favorite color wrapper. Will buy again. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Excellent and my favorite smoke. Love the flavor and draw. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Great for the money 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 A solid cigar. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Well constructed, smooth draw, nice ash. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Good smoke for the price, good draw and burn. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 This is a very tasty treat!!!! Peppery and Spicy I love these!! 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Closest to the real thing as you can get with an 85% discount. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 A good cigar for the price. Can use as an everyday smoke or just the occasional social smoke. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Flavor and quality just like the Cuban original, will be ordering my next round soon! 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Most of the time they are a good smoke and value but in every bundle there are a few that burn terribly and tast like an old tire. 3 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Just a nice smooth and nice burn; especially for the price ;-) 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 un-smokable 1 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 A good affordable daily smoke with flavor truly comparable to the Monte version 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Good smoke 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 good cigar 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Excellent value , smoke is mild and the burn lasts for a good amount of time . 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Overall very good, draw a little tight on some. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Very good smoke for the money. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Great budget smoke... 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Very good cigar. Easy draw and burn 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Very good quality 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Smooth 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 JR- Alternative does a nice job of building this cigar. It is well wrapped, lights and burns easily and evenly. I hate cheap cigars that burn down one side and have a hot core. Not this gar! It is also surprisingly tasteful and a pleasure to smoke. I recommend this gar. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 nice consistent cigar. The darker ones were not as good. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Never as good as the real deal, but an excellent smooth medium smoke that is worthy of the JR label I buy a bundle every few years They are excellent infused with Cognac 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Excellent alternative to the real thing, I have some real Cuban Monte No. 2's and there is a difference but I actually like these better! 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I have tried several cheap smokes from JR and this is my favorite. If you’re looking for a value-priced everyday smoke, I recommend this one. 4 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Good go to smoke never disappoints 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 The JR Alternative to the Montecristo #2 is now my favorite of the JRs. They are usually well constructed and the taste (in my humble opinion) is as good as many more expensive cigars. The draw is perfect almost every time. Occasionally I get one that has too hard a draw but that happens even with the big brands. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 I am no longer skeptical. From the dry draw to the end of the burn I was a happy camper. Everything I love about cigars was provided by the stick. Great burn, 3 taste profile changes, n0 touch-ups ta-boot.. For $2.50 a stick it was quite a bargain for what you get No wonder they're sold out right now. Will definitely be buying these again. 5 5 1
Montecristo No. 2 Excellent cigar from JR. Smooth taste, easy draw and slow burn make it a must have!! 5 5 1
