Everything has been great till my last two orders (so four affected packs) when the construction quality went off a cliff. Tunneling burning down one side occasional over-packed spots ashes not holding together. Some of the cigars in these packs were ok but most were left as less than half smoked husks. Are you switching to a new production facility and still training the new workers? 2 5 1

I do find the caps sometimes come off I use a punch but beyond that I have no complaints. For what they are they are a very nice cigar and I enjoy them. I would close with my one problem with them is price and this applies to all the J&R Alternatives. They're getting to be simply stated too much to pay for a knock off. You have always been on par with your competition but are now beginning to lag behind. I have never ordered from anyone but J&R but lately I have had no choice . I order roughly 4 times a year and there have been noticeable price increases several times the last couple times I've ordered. That's quarterly for gods sake! You might want to dial it back a notch. Not everyone who enjoys cigars is a 1%er. I'm more of a 25%er and your prices are getting to be too much for me. 3 5 1

Was so poorly made that it was tough to break open because of the many stems. If these were free, it would still be too much. 1 5 1

I receive more and more cigars that burn extremely unevenly, as in the entire side of the cigar burns and leaves the other side in tact, and others burn hot so that it burns my mouth with only one third of the cigar smoked and they burn hot spots through the cigars. I estimate about 25% of these cigars has a problem. I also forgot to mention I also have a few plugs. 3 5 1

There are times I throw away two or three because they are just too poorly wrapped. They sometimes flake away at the outer wrapper. Lately, these cigars are out of stock more than in stock. No way to contact this seller so just screwed unless you can find another alternative. Not Good!! Jr needs to take a lesson in customer service. I have gone to Thompson and Cigars international due to their poor service and cigars being out of stock. I thought I would try again today and sure enough out of stock again. I had shopped only JR for over 30 years. I really had no choice but to make a change. I had the special mail deal and probably ordered 8 boxes per month. La Gloria Cubana Churchill I found with this cigar that a deep V cut works best. The draw will get more difficult the further I smoke down the cigar. A deep V cut seems to help me maintain a more even draw over the length of the cigar. Also special attention needs to be paid to the heat as you smoke it down. Its very easy to get the cigar a little to hot after the mid point. Then the finish becomes a bit on the bitter side. All in all a good smoke especially for the price. 4 5 1

I occasionally reward myself with higher-priced, premium cigars for special occasions. I'm heading overseas for 3 months and was looking for good quality and good value cigars to add to some of my other higher-priced premium cigars that I'll pack for this trip. I just lit up my first JR Cuban Alternative and it is exactly what I was expecting and it lives up to the reviews found on JR's website. The 10 JR alternatives that came free with the order were clearly marked as handmade. I have smoked them many times and find them fine for the money and when smoking in my yard. The Churchill delivers an hour of real pleasure, out on the porch with a smoky dark drink at hand. Flavor, aroma and draw are all above the level expected for the cost. La Gloria Cubana Churchill So ive easily had a 100 of these smokes over the past 6 months and at first I was really impressed. I needed an affordable daily stick to smoke because I just cant keep spending $12 or more when I smoke 5 cigars or more a week. I thought I found that with these JR branded cigars but the last few orders (especially my most recent one) have just been riddled with duds. Either wrapped too tight, wont stay lit or packed with pockets of dense who knows what. . . . Not even a poker will rescue it. I just dont think Ill order again unless someone tells me this is just a one off with the company rolling these or something. 2 5 1
