Churchill To be honest I expected more actually. I was really looking forward to this smoke but it seemed inconsistent to me and the draw was sub-par.. again compared to what I have come to expect from them. 3 5 1

Churchill Got my second box yesterday. The box is different, white top, says clasico original. But... they don't taste the same at all. Tastes like paint. Its overwhelming for the first third. Just to verify, I am smoking a consul which should have the "old blend". That paint note is discernable as fruit and is rather pleasant but the new smokes are just packed with this off-putting flavor. I'm pretty disappointed. I blew through the last of my old box knowing I would get more. Yeah, yeah, I know, it's leaves, it's age, its hand made but these are special to me. Maybe they will come around in time. Hope so. They never told me when I started smoking cigars that I was destined to lose so many old friends. Those little la corona corona coronas (yes, that's the name). The lemony tasting la escepcion s , the trumpet shaped flur de lavonda, alas. 3 5 1
Churchill It had a good flavor. It wasn't very consistent throughout the cigar. The cigar also unwrapped some on me 4 5 1

Churchill I read yelp reviews often and marvel at the posts that say "I normally love this place but THIS TIME" and then the reviewer, who has never left a good review ever, proceeds to rip everyone involved. This is a different story. I was so in love with the joyo de nicaragua clasico churchill (I don't agree that a 6.88 x 48 is a proper churchill) that I went out of my way..way out of my way, to try to get more of these delicious smokes. I bought a box of these over a year ago. I put them down because I just wasn't that interested. I dug them out one day for a newbie smoker and watched him completely nub the thing. The next day I fired one up for breakfast and found out why. Ever have a cigar that just DOES it for you? Some component of the taste, some texture of the smoke has you marveling at the stick, staring at it as you blow billows of luxurious smoke. The experience throws you into a different, more sublime universe. If someone is talking to you, you shush them. The cigar is speaking. This is precisely WHY you smoke these things. Well, that was this brand, size and blend for me. After long experience losing such smokes like por larranaga, Trinidad, montecristo 2000 clemenseaus and so many other defunct smokes. I vowed I would do all I could to get those life changing cigars to put in my collection before they dissapeared I found out that Jr is nearly the exclusive distributor of clasicos in the u.s. I found one other distributer and conducted a several hour long conversation over the color of the box of joya de nicaragua and which were "original" to no avail. "The ones in the picture are the ones we sell" Dorothy of company x texted. Then I called Jr. Interestingly, Another Dorothy took charge, communicated with the warehouse having them email me an assessment of what the colors on the various sorts of joyas boxes were so I could determine which were newer than which. Then I heard from other Jr employees signaling that they would be happy to refund my money for the box I had already purchased that had originally spawned my dismay. You can see that response below. The short is that it is possible that my new love, an old blend of joya clasico may be lost to time, warehousing and commerce. But not if Jr cigars has its way. They are sending me more boxes and accepting the old one back in the hope that I find my loved cigar. Jr's may have had some rough spots after Mr Rothman left but I have not experienced anything but their devotion to us lovers of the leaf. Thank you all. 5 5 1

Churchill I haven't smoked a lot of these but I had issues with the draw and the burn. Good medium bodied stick though. I would definitely try it again. 4 5 1

Churchill I always have trouble getting the draw I want with a churchill otherwise this would have got full stars all the way. One of my first cigars I enjoyed. This is one of the ones that started it for me and has a special place in my collection. 4 5 1
