Omar de Frias doesn’t exactly have a reputation for subtlety. His blends usually stomp in the room wearing heavy boots. But the Fratello Oro Toro 6x50 takes a smoother route. It’s the third release in the Fratello family and made to be smoother and mellower compared to the original Fratello and Bianco lines. Like his other releases though, the brand’s innovative blends and incredibly distinct tobaccos steal the show. This toned-down beauty features a waxy Ecuadorian Connecticut gleaming like toasted straw. The exotic Cameroon binder anchors a mix of Colombian, Dominican, and Nicaraguan fillers. The balance of leather, dried fruit, cream, and a tickle of spice dance in between every draw. The burn line is straight as a ruler, the draw is dream-like.
