Mace Bought these to help with my search for powerhouse cigars. To be fair, I chew tobacco all day, so cigars are only my evening enjoyment, but I try to find those powerful enough that I’m not immediately looking to satisfy my nicotine craving when I’m finished. I prefer full flavor anyhow, so that gap isn’t too hard to fill generally. These are strong, but not overpowering. Taste is pretty flat and I’ll admit it’s pretty boring, but not offensive or overwhelming. Just got them last week and I’m only on #2 of 10, so maybe they’ll age a little and get more interesting. I do like the price and wish some of my other more flavorful favorites were in this ballpark, like the comacho triple maduro, or the flathead series. They aren’t as strong as this and probably more of a medium-full, but I enjoy their more dimensional flavors, so it’s a trade-off. The burn is decent, but not overly great. Couple touch ups, but not excessive. Wrapper is not so great. I usually take the bands off before I step outside and these start to unravel/flake up immediately. I also punched my second one as the first one’s straight cut caused quite a bit of flaking at the cap. They were shipped door to door in three days in a sealed bag with a boveda 69 in them, so I don’t think it’s a humidity issue. Given the price, I’m not going to complain too much about it, but I prefer not to have to be so delicate with my cigars. Overall it’s one I’d consider as a knock around garage project smoke, but not one I’ll be purchasing in bulk to smoke daily, which is a shame since they’re priced really decently. 3 5 1
