The tobacco in this project utilizes a never-before-seen varietal of Nicaraguan shade grown tobacco—and that is simply the beginning of the journey. Technically a Nicaraguan puro, this cigar utilizes a Nicaraguan grown Cuban seed wrapper which was aged for 10 years and then stored for another 14 months in bourbon barrels. The dark, oily wrapper is gorgeous and sets the tone for the shade grown binder. The filler for this tobacco comes from three different Perdomo family farms spread across Esteli, Jalapa and Condega, with only the finest A-Grade leaf utilized for the project. When blended together, the harmonious combination produces tastes of chocolate, espresso, black pepper and a savory caramel note from the bourbon barrel aging.
