OZ Family Cigars have come out of the gate swinging and for its fourth release—Karatoba—the esteemed boutique cigarmakers are swinging for the fences. The name is a mashup of two different words. Kara means “black” or “dark” in Turkish, while Toba pays homage to Lake Toba, which is located in the North Sumatra region of Indonesia and is located at the site of a super-volcanic eruption. Toba is an obvious reference to the Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper that lovingly cloaks this cigar, available in four different sizes.
