Toro Especial I was hesitant to purchase this cigar because I just was not that impressed with the original Undercrown. When this version showed up I decided to try it and I’m glad I did. Not too mild with an excellent flavor profile. 5 5 1
Toro Especial I wanted to like this one, based on what I’ve read about it and the JR Nick guy’s review. Smoking one right out of the box, I get hints of nothing. Not a bad taste at all, just no taste whatsoever. Maybe they need to rest for awhile. But I thought I’d at least get even a faint bit of the “creamy” or “nutty@ flavors. Nope. Also, upon unwrapping the plastic around the box, I noticed the seal has already been broken. That perplexes me. Maybe someone replaced the real version of these with impostors. (Probably not) I’ll review again after some humidor time, if my experience is different. Geez… just a big disappointment. 3 5 1
Toro Especial A great morning smoke with coffee. It has a baked bread taste and a soft finish 5 5 1
Toro Especial Well constructed, classic with excellent flavor- sweet cream, nuts, and honey on the retro! Great cigar for any time of the day, highly recommended. 5 5 1
Toro Especial Awesome cigar! Great cigar for anytime of the day! 5 5 1
Toro Especial New cigar smoker and over the past several months I have been trying most of the popular mild cigars. This one ranks in my top 3 as one of the best. It is smooth and surprisingly mild. Puts out a lot of smoke too. No bad aftertaste that lingers on. I really enjoy this one. 5 5 1
Toro Especial This would be a great cigar, for the beginners to start with. Nice light flavors of cedar, vanilla and a touch of sweet cream. One thing you can always count on with Drew Estate, plenty of smoke. 5 5 1
Toro Especial These cigars are great. They have become my favorite shade-wrapped cigar. It has a very smooth woody and leathery taste. I also get a little spiciness towards the last third, not overly present, but definitely there. So far, all have had a near-perfect draw, a beautiful an sturdy construction and they smell great when smoked. 5 5 1
Toro Especial Love these this is my 2nd box. 5 5 1
Toro Especial This is a solid Drew Estate cigar. Burn, draw, and flavor are great. Would def buy again. 4 5 1
Toro Especial I don't know why I waited so long to try these. Super smooth with lots of flavor. I like these better than Montecristo White, Macanudo Inspirado White, and Griffin's. 5 5 1
Toro Especial Bought a box on sale. Great construction and draw. Easy to light and stays lit. Nice even burn. Seemed light on flavor. Definite beginner smoke. Probably too mellow for more experienced smokers looking for a little bite. Imagine a more mellow monte white series. 3 5 1
Toro Especial Good smoke 4 5 1
Toro Especial I just found my new favorite cigar. 5 5 1
Toro Especial Like an old friend, this mellow fellow delivers. 4 5 1
Toro Especial Great flavor and surprisingly more medium bodied than I would expect out of a Connecticut wrapper. Super easy smoke for newer smokers 5 5 1
Toro Especial Great stogie, really smooth and consistent. Really enjoyed from start to finish 4 5 1
Toro Especial Everything I expected and more. Delicious smoke that isn’t too long or too fast. Just right. 5 5 1
Toro Especial I'm new to the cigar world and have sampled a few different to stogies to find my preference. The undercrown shade is excellent smooth even burn no after taste. This one will definitely go in the humidor as a regular. 5 5 1
Toro Especial Very smooth and rich with sweet cedar and baking spice 5 5 1
Toro Especial Awesome cigar 5 5 1
Toro Especial Very enjoyalble 4 5 1
Toro Especial Perfect draw, mild but great flavor, burned great with no cracking on the wrapper. They are a great value too! 5 5 1
Toro Especial These are creamy and medium bodied. They lean toward the Dominican side, with a bit of Nicaraguan taste. Since I generally do not like Nicaraguan tobacco, I was surprised at how smooth they were. I wish they were a bit spicier and sweeter. They had a nice slow burn. I was also surprised that some of them are plugged hard at the head, and require cutting off about half an inch to make them smoke well. Drew Estate cigars are usually perfectly constructed, so a few plugged was unusual, but easy to deal with. A very nice smoke. 4 5 1
Toro Especial I enjoyed the cigar however found it cheaper on other websites with no annoying state tax and tobacco tax. Total BS, I’m shopping elsewhere in the future. 5 5 1

Undercrown Shade

Toro Especial 6 × 50 LPUCTTE

Drew Estate Undercrown Shade Toro Especial cigars were created to be a smoother and creamier line extension to the company’s wildly popular Liga Privada 9 blend. Undercrown Shade is the brainchild of Drew Estate’s most talented master blender Willy Herrera who crafted these vintage beauties with an Ecuadoran Connecticut wrapper, a Sumatran binder, and long fillers that consists of Dominican Criollo 98’ and Nicaraguan Corojo and Criollo tobaccos. Medium bodied , this superb blend lends itself to rich, complex, and balanced flavors of nuts, sweet cream, and toast, backed by subtle hints of warm spice and honey.
