Foundation Metapa is a hot new line of premium cigars inspired by the birth town of Rubén Darío, a legendary Nicaraguan poet. Dario was the inspiration for the brand to pay homage to Nicaragua’s rich cultural heritage and the artistry behind its world-class cigars. The blend for Metapa uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper available in both a maduro and claro shade, atop a Connecticut Broadleaf binder, and long fillers from Estelí and Jalapa, Nicaragua, two of the countries top growing regions. Both wrapper styles provide a medium bodied experience offering their own unique, rich expressions of flavor. The Claro wrapped Metapa cigars offer savory top notes of sweet spice and wood, backed by nuances of cedar, leather, and cocoa. Light the maduro Metapa and expect to be greeted by rich flavors of chocolate, espresso, earth, and sweetness, before a creamy smooth finish. Made by AJ Fernandez and rolled at his famed Tabacalera Fernandez factory, each cigar must meet the strictest of quality control standards before being released to the public.
