Foundry Cigar owner Michael Giannini’s initiative with the Chillin Moose was to create a budget-friendly cigar that could appeal to novice and experienced cigar smokers alike. Giannini collaborated with General Cigars on this journey to make one of the cheapest cigars on the market at the time.

However, as my team and I discovered last year, the Chillin Moose and Chillin Moose Too don’t taste like your typical under $5.00 cigar.
If the price on this medium to full-bodied gems isn’t enough for you, perhaps the combination of the tobaccos used in this smoke will get your gears going. The cigar is cloaked in a Connecticut Habano Rosado wrapper, bound by an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper, and filled with Nicaraguan tobaccos. The wood, citrus, and cocoa flavor notes you detect with each puff are all thanks to this masterfully blended smoke.

With a box of 20 costing no more than $100 before tax, the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of a single Black Abyss smoke ranges from $3.89 to $4.87. As stated before, it’s extremely difficult to make quality smoke that uses Cuban-seeded tobacco for under $5.00.
