Binder – Habano Ometepe

Filler – Ometepe Jalapa

Length – 6

Ring – 50

Strength – Medium

Smoke Time – 85-95 Minutes

Leading off our Top 5 JR Private Label Cigars is a cigar that came out earlier this year with the collaboration from Rafael Nodal of AUSA, and JR Cigars CEO Davide Moro. The JR Pure Origin Gran Vulcano is the newest addition to our Private Label collection. Speaking honestly and truthfully without being biased, we here at JR feel like the Gran Vulcano is a cigar that is going to start putting us on another level when it comes to private labels.

Cloaked in that gorgeous reddish-dark brown Habano Jalapa wrapper provides an abundance of sweet spice in the first third. With tobaccos from the Ometepe region of Nicaragua for the binder and filler, the second and final third provides a little bit of a bite in there that medium to full-bodied cigars tend to do.

From the design of the box to the flavor and ingredients of this 6 x 50 gem, we couldn’t be more proud and very excited to see what we do next. We do have a decent amount of boxes in stock, however, it’s on a limited run. So once they’re gone, they’re gone definitely want to hop on the JR Pure Origin train before it’s too late.

Crowned Heads Mother Church

Country of Origin – Nicaragua

Wrapper – Ecuadorian Corojo

Binder – Connecticut Broadleaf

Filler – Nicaragua

Length – 7

Ring – 48

Strength – Medium-Full

Smoke Time – 110 Minutes

Next up on our Top 5 Jr Private Label Cigars is a brand that was birthed during our JR 50th Anniversary launch conducted all throughout 2021, but now is its stand-alone line for Crowned Heads. The Mother Church is one of our best-selling and highly-rated private labels to come out of JR Cigars. Landing in the Top Five of last year’s Blind Man Puff list and a 90 rating from Cigar Coop,  The Mother Church is a 7 x 48 Medium to Full-Bodied gem that pays homage to the beautiful city of Nashville in Tenessee.

Cloaked in a golden-brown Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper, the Mother Church also utilizes scrumptious Broadleaf tobacco for the binder and three different leaves from Nicaragua for the filler tobacco.  This cigar is the personification of a flavorful premium smoke.

It’s a little zesty and rich. It has a little bit of everything you want to have a cigar. Whether it be the first thing you smoke in the morning with a cup of coffee or a nightcap after you just finished a big dinner.  You want to have it right after a big steak. NightShade by Drew Estate

Country of Origin – Nicaragua

Wrapper – Connecticut Habano

Binder – Indonesia

Filler – Dominican Republic / Nicaragua

Length – 5

Ring – 52

Strength – Medium-Full

Smoke Time – 90 Minutes

Next up, we have this delicious gem from Drew Estate called the “NightShade”. If you run into Willy Herrera of Drew Estate and ask him about this blend, 10 out of 10 times he is going to tell you that they are pissed off that they made us the cigar back in 2020. It was so good when it came out. All jokes aside, this Medium to Full-Bodied masterpiece is as affordable as one premium cigar should be.

This dark and oily,  Connecticut Habano wrapper is filled with rich and zesty flavors with each and every puff. Another key contributor to this delicious smoke is the Indonesian binder that will give you a little bit of a coffee note. Then finally, the Nicaraguan fillers used in this 5 x 52 stick are where this cigar finally balances everything out.

One thing we will brag a little bit about is how this cigar received a 93 rating from Blind Man’s Puff, which is unheard of for a cigar that sells for under $10. With unbeatable prices, mixed with top-tier flavor progression and construction, you’ll be hard-pressed to find another cigar like the NightShade by Drew Estate and JR Cigars.

Montecristo Volume 1: 100 Days

Country of Origin – Honduras

Wrapper – Ecuador Habano

Binder – Nicaragua

Filler – Dominican Republic / Nicaragua

Length – 6

Ring – 52

Strength – Medium

Smoke Time – 110 Minutes

Our next JR Cigar Private Label comes from the great people over at Altadis USA. This smoke launched in early 2020 as our private label and we were extremely thrilled to find out what prestigious brand would be attached to this one.

The Montecristo Volume 1: 100 days is based on the famous tale “The Count of Montecristo”. We’re looking at an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper along with some Dominican and Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos. The cigars arrive in a box that’s fashioned as the book. Some may think it’s too “gimmicky”, but once you light up and smoke this bad boy, you’ll realize this cigar is anything but a gimmick. Some flavor notes you may detect are nuts, cinnamon, zest, and cocoa.

Even if it’s a private label and even if it’s a less expensive Montecristo, they are not screwing around with this brand. They were never going to put that label on a cigar that does not perform 100% So sotp by JR Cigars today and pick up the Montecristo Volume 1: 100 Days.

Oliva Melanio JR 50th Anniversary

Country of Origin – Nicaragua

Wrapper – Ecuador Sumatra

Binder – Nicaragua

Filler –  Nicaragua

Length – 6

Ring – 50

Strength – Medium-Full

Smoke Time – 100 Minutes

Last but not least on our Top 5 JR Private Labeled Cigars, we have the Oliva Melanio JR 50th Anniversary. You may notice that we showcase this one a lot because of how good it is in this size. The original Melanio is traditionally a box press smoke. For our JR 50th Anniversary cigars releases last year in 2021, Oliva was kind enough to make it in a rounded Parejo.

Avid Oliva Serie V Melanio smokers who have only ever tried it in the box-pressed version have smoked this and rave about how this is the best version they have smoked of the Melanio.

Utilizing Nicaraguan tobaccos for the binder and filler, this 6 x 50 gem is cloaked in a golden Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper that oozes delicious flavor notes with each puff you take.

With the top-notch construction on this revitalized classic, you don’t want to sleep on it. Check it out as soon as you can because once they’re sold out, they’re gone. Something you definitely want to pick up before it’s too late.

You’ve overlooked the J R Alternative: Partagas 1845 Gigante. This has become one of my most favorite cigars – hands down. Very enjoyable smoking experience that lasts about one hour.
This is a very satisfying smoke.
