Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust Cigars

If you’re an avid cigar smoker then you’re no stranger to Steve Saka and Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust cigars. However, if you’re a novice cigar smoker and happened to have never heard of this company, then you’re in for a real treat.

In 2015, former CEO of Drew Estate Cigars Steve Saka decided to step away from the company he called home for years to take a chance on himself. He put all the chips in and founded Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust cigars. Seven years later, Dunbarton is a revered name within the industry due to the budget-friendly smokes and high-quality cigar lines within his company.

Today for our latest Top 5, we’re showing Steve Saka and Dunbarton the utmost respect and love we have for them with their very own Top 5 sampler. From the Sin Compromiso to the new StillWell Star, here are our Top 5 favorite cigars from Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust.

Mi Querida Triqui Traca

First up on our Top 5 Cigars from Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust is this little firecracker we’ve loved since 2019, the Mi Querida Triqui Traca. The 448 size in the sampler comes in…you guessed it, a 4 x 48 size. Created at the Dunbarton Tobacco factory, the Mi Querida Triqui Traca is Spanish for “firecracker” due to the intensity of the smoke hitting you with each puff.

Cloaked with a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, the Triqui Traca 448 has binder tobacco from Nicaragua and filler tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Some flavor notes you may taste in this full-bodied smoke are cinnamon, red pepper, espresso, oak, and chocolate.

Available in six other sizes, that all come in a box of 20, you can now get the Mi Querida Triqui Traca online or in stores today!

Sin Compromiso Seleccion

Next up on our Top 5 Cigars from Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust is the Sin Compromiso. Translating to “no compromise” in English, that was Saka’s mindset while making this delicious stick. Steve Saka has also gone on the record saying this is one of the best blends he’s ever created, and he’s not wrong whatsoever.

The mixture of tobaccos throughout the wrapper, binder, and filler makes for one magnificent smoking experience. This full-bodied smoke is drenched in a Mexican San Andres wrapper while being bound by Ecuadorian tobaccos and filled with tobaccos from Nicaragua!

Some flavor notes you may detect in this 6 x 52 gem are hickory wood, black pepper, coffee, and chocolate. Most of these delicious flavor notes that are detected hail from the dark Mexican San Andres leaf wrapped around this smoke.

Available in six different sizes with the addition of the 6 x 52 in this sampler, the Sin Compromiso arrives in a gorgeous forest green box of 13 that can be purchased online at our website or in-store. This one is a must-have in your humidor or collection of cigars!

Umbagog

Landing smack dab in the middle of our Top 5 Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust cigars is an office favorite around here. Named after one of the most pristine lakes that’s located on the border of New Hampshire and Maine, the Umbagog is one of Steve’s most popular cigar lines across the industry.

While Steve hits the lake for some fishing or relaxation, he likes to light up 6 x 56 Gordo Gordo and enjoy his time with mother nature. Utilizing the same Connecticut Broadleaf tobacco for the Mi Querida, the Umbagog has Nicaraguan tobacco for the binder and filler to round out the delicious specs of this smoke.

This medium to full-bodied smoke has quite the flavor profile. This earthy profile is prominent for more cigars; however, you’ll get a dash of coffee, spice, and chocolate throughout each third of this gem.

Available in a total of six sizes, you can snag the Umbagog online or in stores in the bundle of 10 this gem comes in! This is a smoke that has a lot of punch and power but is easy and tender on the palate. So, if you’re a seasoned cigar smoker, the Umbagog is one for you!

Sobremesa Brulee

Next up on our Top 5 Cigars from Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust is another fan favorite across the industry, the Sobremesa Brulee. Following the highly touted Sobremesa, Steve Saka made a lighter, sweeter version of the original smoke. Fans swore the Brulee had a sweet tip, which ended up ticking Saka off. So, he made an “STFU” sampler, some with sweet, tipped flavors, and some not.

Nonetheless, this 5.25 x 52 medium-bodied smoke has an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper, with a Mexican binder, and a Nicaraguan filler. Some flavor notes you’ll detect while smoking the Brulee are sweet cream, coffee, and bread on the backend.

Available in a total of seven different sizes, the Sobremesa Brulee comes in a sharp box of 13. So, if you’re looking for a treat for a nightcap, then the Sobremesa Brulee paired with a cappuccino is the way to go. Stop by our website today to snag the Brulee before it’s too late.

StillWell Star

Finally, we have StillWell Star to round out our Top 5 favorite cigars from Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust. StillWell Star was released in November of 2021 as a part of a collaboration between pipe tobacco company “Cornell & Diehl”. What makes this cigar unique is that the tobaccos that make up this cigar are strictly for pipe smoking.

Believe it or not, there’s a difference in taste and flavor profile between tobaccos that are in pipes vs. cigars. This medium-bodied smoke is cloaked in an Ecuadorian Habano Maduro wrapper while being bound by Mexican San Andres tobaccos and filled with Red Virginia, Bright Virginia, Turkish, and Latakia tobaccos.

Some tasting notes you may detect while smoking this gem are crumb cake, coffee, earth, and a touch of cocoa on the backend. Available in one size that comes in a box of 13, I’d be remised to say you’d be missing out if you didn’t snag a box of the new smoke from Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust as soon as possible.
