If you’re like me, you’ll end up grabbing your favorite food to grill, lather it in exceptional seasoning, and post up by the Barbecue for hours cooking for all your guests.
While you’re conducting grill master business, you might as well light up a cigar. This week’s Top Five centers around the best cigars to enjoy during your BBQ. Don’t forget to get this limited sampler right here.
Alec Bradley Magic Toast Toro
Alan Rubin, founder of Alec Bradley seemed to strike gold again with the Magic Toast! Released a few years after the former #1 Prensado, we can only believe that Rubin is a mastermind when it comes to blending cigars together. Released in 2018 at the IPCPR tradeshow, the Magic Toast has so much to offer, from the multitude of flavor notes to the stunning cigar band.
This medium to full-bodied smoke has a wrapper from Honduras, while the binder and filler tobaccos are from Nicaragua and again from Honduras. The Magic Toast by Alec Bradley is packed with luscious flavor notes such as earth, wood, white pepper, and chocolate. The Toro size is the perfect smoke to pass the time while those burgers cook to perfection.
Arturo Fuente 8-5-8
Carlos Fuente Sr. and Jr. really crafted a once in a lifetime cigar when they made the 8-5-8. This handmade cigar was created in their factory down in the Dominican Republic and is remarkably consistent throughout. Those are just a few reasons as to why the 8-5-8 always seems to be out of stock. So, if you see these smokes available, don’t hesitate on picking up a box for yourself.
The 8-5-8 is cloaked in a Cameroon wrapper, with binder and fillers from the Dominican Republic. Once smoking the Arturo Fuente 8-5-8, you will detect flavor notes of nut, spice, cedar, and wood. If the BBQ you are hosting or attending is a special one, then smoking the 8-5-8 from Arturo Fuente would be the perfect selection.
Brick House Toro
The Brick House was originally created by the Newman Brothers in the late 1930s to pay homage to their grandfather, who would create vintage blends in the late 1890s. The name derives from their family’s house in Hungary where the Newman Brothers grew up. Today, Brick House has left lasting impressions throughout the cigar history, just like its origin story and brimful history.
This Magnificent JC Newman creation is a medium to full-bodied cigar that has a Brazilian wrapper, with a binder and fillers from Nicaragua. Some flavor notes you’ll taste while enjoying the Brick House are black pepper, earth, caramel, chocolate, and dried fruit on the back end. The Brick House would be the perfect smoke to have while you’re grilling some chicken or lay poolside.
Crowned Heads Four Kicks Robusto
Like most cigars under the Crowned Heads name, the Four Kicks was produced by E.P. Carrillo at his factory. The name “Four Kicks” is a lyric from Kings of Leon, which happens to be one Crowned Heads owner, Jon Huber’s favorite bands. Every cigar under the Four Kicks is a limited edition, so getting your hands on one of these is a must!
The Four Kicks in the Robusto size is wrapped in an Ecuador Habano wrapper while being bound and filled by Nicaraguan Tobaccos. This medium strength smoke has superb flavor notes of zest, leather, spice, and earth. If there were one cigar in your humidor, you’d want to show off at the family BBQ, then the Four Kicks by Crowned Heads is the cigar!
Casa Fernandez Guardian of the Farm Night Watch Orpheus
Guardian of the Farm Night Watch hails from Nicaragua, where Aganorsa Leaf grew this gorgeous smoke on the famed Casa Fernandez farm.
The prized smoke has unique flavors and aroma that are unmatched in any other cigar. In addition, the Guardian of the Farm pays tribute to the American Bulldogs that keep these highly sought-after tobacco leaves from anyone who dares to try and steal them.
The Night Watch is a Full-Bodied, Nicaraguan puro that is overflowing with powerful flavor notes throughout the smoke. There is an even balance of espresso, chocolate, wood, pepper, and cream. The 6 x 44 Orpheus size is the ideal smoke to enjoy once you’ve filled up on burgers, hot dogs, and various salads. The Guardian of the Farm Night Watch is a go-to smoke to kick your summer off right.
