Aging Room Bin No. 2 C Major Cigar Review
Today I chose to review the very popular Aging Room Bin No. 2 C Major cigar to find out if it lives up to its name and hits all the right notes.
A highly anticipated follow-up to Rafael Nodal’s highly rated Bin No. 1 blend, Aging Room Bin No. 2 is a Nicaraguan puro produced by the famed Plasencia family that focuses on the prized binder tobaccos exclusively grown on their family farm in the Ometepe region of the country. The rest of the blend consists of a Nicaraguan wrapper and aged long-leaf fillers from Estelí and Jalapa.
Now, that we revealed the recipe for this 5.75 x 54 Toro, let’s take a closeup look at some aesthetics. Aging Room C Major is a solidly packed handmade premium cigar with a seamless deep brown wrapper that displays a nice oily sheen. An elegant dual band in the middle, and some additional red banding on the foot, make the overall presentation simply stellar.
After taking a moment to gaze at this stunning specimen, a pre-light nose of hay and sweet tobacco, gets my juices flowing even before the cigar is lit.
The cigar lights easily, and right out of the gate, the burn and draw are performing like a champ.
The first third starts off with a three-note combo of oak and leather intermingled with a little bit of black pepper, but just enough to make the smoke complex, but not overwhelming like some other sticks that start off with just a peppery blast through the palate and nostrils. Before the bell rings ending round 1, I’m detecting some hints of sweet cedar in what’s turning out to be a solid full-bodied smoke at this point.
During the second third, the pepper becomes the dominant top note, and savory new flavors of earth and salted caramel are adding some very enjoyable nuances to the overall experience. At this point, I’m thinking this uber full-bodied cigar was definitely made with the well-seasoned smoker in mind.
The final third starts off with a bang as black pepper is becoming more prominent than ever. The secondary tasting notes now consist of earth, oak, and black coffee. Getting close to the nub, C Major develops into sweet and spicy smoke with the same bold, full-bodied strength profile that I experienced throughout the length of the smoke.
Final Thoughts
- If you enjoy a very bold, earthy, woodsy, and spicy full-bodied cigar, then, this high-octane stick will be right up your alley. Newcomers need not apply!
- The construction is flawless, the burn is crisp and slow, and the draw remained effortless from beginning to end.
- It’s a cigar that’s just begging to be paired with a juicy Porterhouse steak and your favorite Scotch Whiskey.
- Aging Room Bin No. 2 C Major cigars, sold in boxes of 20, are at the higher end of the price scale, but its money well spent, because it stacks up favorably with the very best high-end ultra-premium cigars on the market today.
