Perfecto I'm proud to be the first to review this Perfecto so I'm going to write a comprehensive review. I smoke at least 100 cigars per month, primarily Padron (entire line) and Oliva with some Arturo Fuente. Mostly maduro with the exception of Nub Connecticut. With this cigar I use a "V" cigar cutter. First... construction, absolutely wonderful. This is a box pressed perfecto so it tapers at both ends. I really like that shape. It makes for an easier light and a more comfortable mouth and finger hold. The box press makes this cigar very consistent and the pressed facets of the cigar are handsome. Nice, dark, oily maduro wrapper gives it what I call a nice leathery saddle smell before lighting. (my favorite) Easy light. I normally use a torch, this one I lit with a regular lighter. The tapered end means a consistent starting ash. The 5.5" length is one I like for a reasonable smoke time. Flavor is fantastic especially for a cigar at this price point. I'm not the kind that finds "notes" in flavor. This is a very smooth smoke, medium strength with nice oils. No part of this is dry, herby or peppery. I will again call it leathery. It also doesn't build and overwhelm the palette like some. It is very much like a more expensive Padron. I am a very picky smoker and this is right up there with the best. Copious smoke, even burn for the most part. One side did get ahead of itself in the middle. A touch up or two and it evened itself out by the end. I gave it a 4 for consistency because I did have to touch it up and because this is the first one I've smoked, so I don't know over the course of an entire box how it will fare. It's a knuckle burner for sure I ran out of cigar before I ran out of interest in smoking it. Final review... At the moment it's my new favorite. I got this smoke in a sampler that came free with a travel Oliva travel case as a bonus for a recent purchase. Which brings us to why I use JR Cigar and love Oliva. JR has fantastic pricing, ready discounts (I use military) and Oliva box purchases generally include a generous gift... nice ashtray or in this case a travel case with 5 free Oliva cigars. Based on this smoke I bought a box (that will come with a 2nd free travel case and 5 cigar sampler). It's the best $6 smoke I can think of. It punches well over its class in price. I compare it to a Padron 1964. I enjoyed this one with a good German beer. 5 5 1
