Gurkha Seal III Fixed-Blade Knife with Sheath This knife is a great piece to add to any cigar lover's accessory collection. The side is emblazoned with "K. Hansotia & Co." in a light gray color. Blade is made of thick steel with a "rough" and rugged looking coating on it. Grips are made of a very dense rubber almost like rubber coated plastic. The knife has a good balance and great hand feel. There's definitely some weight to it. The blade is rather long coming around 7" in length. It is not sharpened, nor is it necessarily dull. The included sheath is a heavy-duty type plastic that's riveted together. It's a bit cheap, but ultimately sturdy and "locks" the blade into place keeping it secure. I wouldn't pay retail, however, it's a nice knife overall. 4 5 1
Gurkha Seal III Fixed-Blade Knife with Sheath Can't wait until spring hits to try it out in the woods. 4 5 1
Gurkha Seal III Fixed-Blade Knife with Sheath This is not a good knife. It is forward heavy and clumsy. It feels awkward and slow. The hilt is boxy and square, with very squared off scales that feel sharp to the hand. I feel voids between my hand and the grips. If used as a camp knife, the sharp scales would work hot spots into the hand very quickly. The blade is front heavy and is a sort of tanto recurve hybrid that doesn't pull off what is intended. This would not make a good fighting knife. I don't buy the Gurka story. It does have an apprecialble heft and a very solid feel. The sheath is clumsy and noisy. The blade rattles going in and out, and seats back in the sheath with a loud clack. Not a stealthy knife. All in all, not a good knife, not worth $20, and the retail price is insane. This knife is dopey stupid. 1 5 1

Gurkha Seal III Fixed-Blade Knife with Sheath Seems okay - would not pay the "original price" - the sheath is plastic, the handle is plastic (I will be replacing it probably with paracord ). It will be an okay camping knife for the price. Time will tell 4 5 1
Gurkha Seal III Fixed-Blade Knife with Sheath Great blade, very smooth and good quality. 5 5 1
Gurkha Seal III Fixed-Blade Knife with Sheath Despite the description hyperbole, this is NOT a kukri - the true symbol of the renown Nepalese Gurkha. It is, however, a full tang, fixed blade knife, with a slight recurve cutting edge, branded by K. Hansotia & Co. - creator of the Gurkha cigar brand. And that's as close as it gets to anything "Gurkha". The tang is made of 3/16" unidentified steel. The 6" blade features the aforementioned slight recurve on the cutting edge and a tanto spear point, with a blunt false edge. The primary bevels are hollow-ground; the false edge, flat-ground. The quillon is a double hilt, formed from the tang. The steel is nicely finished with what looks like acid wash. The scales are textured hard rubber, fit the tang nicely, and are screwed together with decorative, T10 screws. The handle has single-finger, flattened grooves, fore & aft, and nicely accommodates various grip styles. At the butt, the tang extends past the scales, forming a rounded pommel with a lanyard hole. The sheath is molded plastic, two halves riveted together, with a closed, 1-7/8" belt loop. The sheath holds the knife securely, but is likely less durable than the industry standard Kydex. The knife arrived semi-sharp, but a few swipes with a steel brought-out a keen edge. Were the knife made of high-tech blade steel and included a higher-end sheath, the advertised MSRP of $393.75 might be more than just overblown, marketing hype. In any event, at the sale price of $19.95, it's quite a bargain - if for nothing more than the novelty. (And you know you need yet another knife!) 4 5 1
Gurkha Seal III Fixed-Blade Knife with Sheath Excellent blade, the unusual handle shape allows a firm grip and flexible use. 5 5 1
Gurkha Seal III Fixed-Blade Knife with Sheath The good: Heavy Looks nice at first glance The bad: No where near sharp Odd bump near the tip Scales are offset, causing Hotspot I do not expect top notch knives from a cigar maker. But the scales on this thing are offset, they don't cover the tang on the top of the handle, and hang off on the bottom. The tip, I'm assuming, is supposed to be tanto? There is a strange bump on the tanto tip, which I will have to grind down to fix. 2 5 1

Gurkha Seal III Fixed-Blade Knife with Sheath Nice knife! Reading some reviews I had to laugh because some critical stuff was literally some self proclaimed expert! Knife feels good and cuts well. Good as any Cold Steel knife I’ve owned. Sharp? I can shave the hair on my arm out of the box. 5 5 1
Gurkha Seal III Fixed-Blade Knife with Sheath I think it's well made, looks good and is a beautiful addition to any mancave or cigar room. While I don't plan on using for camping or yardwork, I like the look and will keep it as part of my decor. It snaps right into its sheath very well. By adding a light sharpening to the edge you might try it as a cigar cutter! LOL! You could if you are careful but that may be going a little too far. The handle fits nicely in my hand and has a good feel and grip to it. Handle it with care as be as careful as you would be with any other edged tool because after all, it's still a knife. Enjoy it responsibly and just be happy. 5 5 1
