Hoyo Rothschild After trying perhaps a dozen economical cigars of various types I have settled on this one as the best value for me. I do notice that there is a bit of irregularity in the tightness of the roll as some are difficult to draw. But at $33 bucks apiece still a very good bargain. 3 5 1

Hoyo Rothschild These were a good twenty pack with a few exceptions. The draw and wrapper construction were an issue on a few of the sticks, but nothing that ruined the cigar. A little work with a paper clip and moving the label ring around smartly took care of the problem cigars. Other than those issues, I enjoyed these a lot. A very good 45-60 minute smoke. I usually go with a longer smoking cigar, but for a quick, tasty robusto these are a good choice. 4 5 1

Hoyo Rothschild From pre-light draw to lighting this thing up, the draw was extremely loose. Very mild and not a lot of flavor. Very difficult to pull smoke out of this thing because of the loose draw. Construction from an appearance standpoint was good. Although it never went out once, I felt it was constantly right on the edge and required constant puffing to keep it going and actually get smoke out. First third yielded a very uneven burn. Although still quiet mild, the draw and flavor did ever so slightly improve on the second third, and the burn become more even. The commonality is in the reviews of these Alternatives is consistency that they seem to lack from one cigar to the next. My experience thus far with the Alternatives is actually quite well. This is not a horrible yard cigar, and definitely one you can pass around to your inexperienced friends. I am looking forward to trying another one, and hopefully improving on my review a bit next time.... 3 5 1
