Tried this knowing how great AJ as a blender is I was not disappointed this is a very bold smoke its stronger then the other Hoyo La Amistad blends. At first light (first quarter inch) there was a slight harsh taste which quickly faded into a delightful smoke. This was definitely a great smoke all in all.

I'd call it 4 stars. Good construction. Plenty of smoke and the burn is good. Spicy in first third, then mellows slightly.

The tasty, medium-full bodied flavor is as described, with the cayenne pepper leading the charge. As the smoke progresses, the pepper subsides a bit, allowing the other notes to shine through. The flavor really blossoms, with long-term aging. Excellent construction, draw, burn, & consistency; with a firm, white ash. The dark brown/black, Ecuadoran Sumatra Oscuro wrapper is expertly finished, seamless, void of prominent veins, and has a fine toothines that's also apparent on the ash. Another winner by AJF.

Hoyo La Amistad Black Toro, now sold as a single cigar, features a dark brown and oily Ecuadorian Sumatra maduro wrapper atop a Mexican San Andres binder and aged long fillers from Nicaragua. To create these top-notch cigars, General Cigar once again teamed up with famed cigarmaker AJ Fernandez to create a blend that held true to Hoyo’s storied Cuban roots while creating new expressions of flavor for modern smokers. Both industry all-stars succeeded tremendously on both counts with a rich medium -to- full bodied smoke laced with delicious flavors of leather, baking spices, chocolate, followed by a rich tobacco sweetness that gently lingers on the palate. Add a single Hoyo La Amistad Black Toro cigar to your next online order, then count on filling your humidor with more.
