Smooth great taste. I love Gurkha cigars. I'm a big fan of the Maduro wrapper.

This was a whirlwind of a cigar. The pre-light smell smell was deep and pungent which only partly prepared me for the 1st third's explosion of deep maduro flavors thick bittersweet chocolate smoked very surprisingly combined with a Habano spicyness that hung around for the rest of the first half exactly as long as the first ash hung on. It was like those chili-infused chocolate bars. As the pepper faded during the second half it was replaced by the pungent woodsiness unique to Gurkhas. This was a very satisfying cigar in this vitola. I've never had a cigar burn so perfectly before wow! My only complaint was another first: when I tried to clip the cap my cutter blade was stopped in its tracks by a thick woody stem. I was not able to cut cleanly because of it but it did not detract from this great cigar. Chasing it with an amazing but sadly discontinued beer Firestone Walker's Wookie Jack.

I’m excited for these cigars. I’ve had them before and they were good. Don’t know why ghurka gets such a bad wrap.

I've tried quite a few Gurkha's, but this is the first one that I wanted to review. Wow, was I surprised at the flavor profile of this stick. I like a maduro once in a while and I didn't expect much from this one, but I very much enjoyed it. I received a 10 stick Gurkha sampler and this was the best one. Unfortunately, About a third of the way down, it mouse-holed, so I lost an inch or so. After correcting that issue, the taste stayed true and didn't harsh out. The dark chocolate chili taste is spot on and so is the price. Yes, I'll buy more.

Based on reviews and the description I was hopeful this might be a flavorful and full bodied smoke. It is neither. Initial impressions are that it's pretty flat and lifeless. Draw is good and smoke production is great, but there is just no flavor in said smoke. No complexity, no development, certainly not what I would call full bodied either.
I've had mixed experiences with Gurkha over the years (as have most from what I can tell). When I do pick one up it's with the understanding that it may or may not be a decent smoke. That's a risk I take from time to time and took with these. In this case it seems to have been a miss.

I don't smoke them. I buy them for my boyfriend. I only know that what I have bought from you he has loved and I love that they don't stink. They actually have a pleasant aromatic smell.
