Belicoso CA has been my favorite cigar for about 25 years. Over the last 3-4 years the quality seemed to have slipped and the brand got harder and harder to fine. JR had dropped them completely until very recently. I was forced to buy from websites I would not normally buy from. As recently as just a few months ago JR still did not have them but a few days ago I checked on a whim and there they were! The new CAs are packed differently. They used to be in simple cello sleeves. The new packing has a little red ribbon and thin sheath of Spanish cedar inside the cellophane. They look and taste like the amazing smokes they are. Now more about the cigars. Cuba Aliados has always had a unique flavor and aroma. I have smoked MANY premium and super premium brands including the best from Montecristo Arturo Fuente Romeo y Julieta Rocky Patel you name it. As good as those brands are most have a similar overall flavor. Cub Aliados is completely different. I am not a fancy cigar taster and I do not know all the right words but to me Cuba Aliados seems to have a hint of cocoa and subtle spice. They are bold full bodied and rich but smooth not harsh at all even in maduro. I honestly do not see how anyone can try this brand especially in it's new incarnation and not consider it among the best they have ever smoked unless you really like the very mild smokes. 5 5 1
Belicoso Agree with previous review. The aroma is definitely a high point with this cigar. The best qualities are that it has this somewhat oily wrapper and of course aroma. I tried this because it was on sale for half off but now i'm likely gonna pay full price for another box. 5 5 1
