A fine everyday cigar

MikeyB55 on 05/20/15

I used to buy these locally for years till Illinois decided to add a 36 cents per cigar tax. Now I get them here @ JR Cigar for even less than the pre-tax local price. These are good budget cigars. They are usually well rolled and burn well, with a good draw. I occasionally get one that may develop a run, or be loosely rolled, but not often. They have a medium strength in my opinion, with good flavor. A great affordable everyday cigar.

Wow!

Made in heaven. Vastly superior to everything else I have tried in this price range. Never need to light it more than once. Fantastic flavor. Flawless construction.

A great budget cigar

Santos on 06/22/15

First, for a budget bundle, the construction on these is really consistent, the draw is excellent, and the burn has been perfect. I'm about halfway through the bundle and haven't had any issues yet. Flavor wise, these are pretty good. I wouldn't say that these are my favorite cigar ever, but I'm perfectly satisfied with my purchase. I'd put these at the mild end of medium, and they tend to smooth out as you smoke them. An enjoyable cigar that's an incredible value.

Everyday smoke

Mdsmith151 on 07/22/15

I've handed these out at multiple gatherings and I always get asked where to get these. Smooth, mild and absolutely worth the price per stick.

A Passable Smoke

etruscan on 08/17/15

I have been buying LaTrinidad cigars from JR for over twenty years, and noticed a progressive deterioration of their quality of their fillers over time (too loosely packed with overly humid leaf, and hard to stay light). However, considering their price of just over$1, I can still smoke ¼ of each and chuck the rest. I am hoping that our friends at JR will soon offer a decent mild stick at $2 -2.50 each.

Good daily cigar

Rampage on 08/31/15

This is a relatively inexpensive cigar. I smoke one everyday on my morning walk along with a mug of coffee. It has a strength of mild to medium.

Not what they used to be

Stogie Guy on 09/14/15

I used to love these but it seems like they changed recipe. They just don't have the flavor they used to.

Go to yard cigar

JimmyB on 09/23/15

This has been my go to yard cigar for years mainly because of the price. The taste and quality of this best kept secret of a cigar is that it also good enough to sit enjoy with scotch or bourbon. I absolutely love these and always have them in my humidor.

Not quite there

JRGuy on 08/24/15

Decent construction. Lights easily, draws well. Excellent volume of smoke. Very floral flavor, strongly reminiscent of a Romeo. Back end is somewhat harsh and off-putting. Doesn't finish well. Unpleasant after-taste. Can't recommend.

horrible

tort2 on 04/28/16

For a moderately priced cigar, the flavor was more than adequate. However, the dismal construction of this cigar (6X50 Toro) leaves me with no other choice than to relegate it to future kitty litter fodder. What construction issues, you ask? In each and every stick (20 to a bundle) the wrapper began to crack and unravel, (even after leaving it for a month in my humidor). To say this is unacceptable is akin to saying having an open heart surgery without pain killers is ok. Ghastly and disturbing. Almost as putrid as the Casa de Garcia (worst construction of any cigar I have ever purchased from JR). Thankfully, JR has such a wonderful selection of other cigars at great prices, that this abomination will soon be a bad memory that reminds me of the old saying, 'you get what you pay for.'

Disappointed

Pepperbear on 10/16/15

I am very disappointed in the cigar. It is bitter to the taste so far and has burned unevenly. Hope it improves in my humidor!
