This Cigar is an amazing blend of excellent tobacco leaves. The wow factor in this cigar starts with the packaging and then the smell of it. When' u light this cigar and smoke it its ought to give u a flavor of dark woods.

Love this cigar!
TommyB on 03/01/15
I love this cigar. Billows of smoke from the get go. Well constructed, consistent from start to finish and from cigar to cigar. Easy lighting and even burning. Stays lit. Love the flavors, although I would consider it more of medium or medium to full bodied smoke than full bodied as indicated. This has become my new favorite. For context, some of my other favs include... Punch Rothschild EMS, My Father Flor de las Antillas Belicoso EMS, La Aroma de Cuba Robusto or Belicoso EMS, and the Edgar Hoill OSOK Travieso EMS (the one w/ the shaggy foot)
From an enthusiast
I have always been an Olivia fan, and this cigar seems to reinforce my feelings about them. The cigar has an excellent draw to it , and a nice build as well might I add. This cigar I also find to be mild. In all this is a very enjoyable cigar!
One of my favorite cigars at the moment. Even though some people dismiss the hype, I love what this cigars brings to the table. Delicious chocolate notes and a hearty tabacco flavor makes this cigar a favorite with coffee or a stout beer.
Smooth, excellent box press...construction is superb! Compkex, medium to full stregth with complex flavirs. I smoked mine while riding through the National Forest at 25-30mph which can be s problem with badly constructed smokes...
This is well worth smoking!
The Oliva Melanio is a fantastic smoke that is more refined than its V series counterparts. It has a lot of sweet tobacco flavors, a ton of creaminess, a silky smooth smoke texture, and an underlying bit of nuttiness.
pretty good, nothing amazing
Definitely an enjoyable smoke. Great flavor, good draw and an even burn. Price wasn't too bad, but probably not a daily smoke. As much as i enjoyed it, it wasn't something that really blew me a away. I would recommend trying it to anyone.I will get it again at some point.
Very aVerage oliVia
Very toothy Nicaraguan wrapper, reminiscent of a Padron or Jericho Hill. The smoke wasnt bad but I can find a better bang for my buck all over. It had a decent chocolaty taste, no construction issues I would blame on the cigar. It may do well with some age
seagar83 on 06/15/15
Creamy smoke with notes of coffee bean, leather, chocolate and a little bit of spice. First third opens up with spice and chocolate. Draw is nice and the burn is consistant. Upon the second third the smoke starts to give notes of leather and earth. Burn is still even and never touched it up with the lighter yet. Final third the smoke was getting a little hot from the draw, but never got bitter and burned flawless until the very end. Would smoke again for sure !
Very decent smoke with a nice depth of profile. Appearance, draw, and burn consistency are all spot on. The flavors never really popped for me. I would smoke again if it was handed to me, but will not miss it if I smoke it again.
One of the best
Armysniper on 06/30/15
One of the best by far smooth and just all around great smoke. By far one of the best for price. I would recommend this cigar to anyone from a first timer to someone that have enjoyed cigar for a long time.
Oliva Series V Melanio
This is one of the best cigars I have smoked. The construction is above par. Very sharp razor like burn throughout the entire stick. Very complex flavors from coffee to a mild pepper. Very creamy dense smoke. Always keep a few in my humidor! ! Highly recommend this stick!
sorry I missed it when it first came out!
Oliva Serie V Melanio - Robusto on 04/24/15
This is an excellent product. This cigar is a treat from the first draw to the last. I first experienced the Melanio brand with a Double toro which was the best cigar I had in many years. The robusto is very good but I prefer the double toro. You can't go wrong with any of the Melanio shapes... Construction, draw flavor - this cigar line has it all.
Craig Smith on 06/04/15
Heard a lot about the serie V from Olvia. Good flavor and construction. Good creamy smoke with nothing that really overwhelmed me. Not underwhelming either. Just a food quality cigar from Oliva. Much prefer the lancero.
squidot on 06/05/15
It's been a while since I've smoked one but I recall it being a pleasant experience for me I. Which I picked up some toasty notes. Not a spectacular cigar in my eyes but a solid choice if you can find them at a good price.
Worth The Time
Promethean Era on 06/05/15
I got this in a trade having heard much about it, and I wasn't disappointed. A little on the medium side, it provided a quick(er), satisfying smoke that I would recommend to friends, which is saying something.
hunternorden on 06/24/15
I walked in my local JR's for this specifically due to it being the cigar of the year. A bit steep on price but none the less a magnificent smoke. Although I prefer the Melanio maduro a bit more because I am more of a full bodied type guy, I really did enjoy it. It was smooth and had excellent flavor. Had an even burn and I love the figurado shape
Nickkline on 06/08/15
Very nice. Good mild smoke. Very nice draw, burned well. Paired very well with woodford reserve. Would definitely smoke again, and definitely worth buying. I personally have loved almost everything I've ever smoked from Olivia.
Dessert for Adults
Afoltz92 on 06/08/15
This cigar is a Caramel bomb! Lots of dark chocolate or cocoa coming and going, with just the right amount of red pepper. Not a traditional combination, but it's smooth across the palate and creamy on the back of the tongue. Pairs well with sweet or smoky beverages
Melanio by Oliva, a rare treat
DaveDub on 06/08/15
This cigar actually should've been cigar of the year every year since it came out! Great draw, even burn and a taste all its own. You'll never feel let down or cheated with a melanio in any size.
give it a try today
Laslow Muhldoon on 06/08/15
Great smoke for its price Great value well made great draw consistent mild smoke easy draw should be a must try if you have not smoked it already All blends in this series are well worth the price go ahead give it a shot can smoke at anytime of day Morning noon or night
Frontrowme on 06/18/15
Enjoyable and consistent smoke. I tried for the first time not knowing what to expect but I will be back for more. I love the flavor and color of the wrapper. I am always comparing to cohibas but this stands alone and is a good stand alone product. I would buy again and would give to friends as gifts.
It's not bad
JARRELS92 on 06/18/15
I just prefer a darker smoke. It's pretty smooth. I'd buy another if I had a choose on a mild smoke. There at a decent price as well for the way they are made. Plus I'm still young and began with the sugar tipped acids. maybe the older I get the better I can take the flavors more serious. If any body has a opinion on how I should start with other brands please let me know. I'm very curious and willing to try new cigars. But overall I prefer a tobacco pipe with a woodsy taste on a nice cold day.
Jakefitzgerald on 06/18/15
This is actually only of my daily smokers! I love the tight construction of this cigar! Full of flavor and it just has a lot of different flavored you get from the filler and the wrapper it's a great mixture of all!
H311oLHD's Oliva Meliano Robusto review
H311olhd on 06/08/15
I really enjoyed smoking this Robusto. I've had several samples and would consider this slightly more complex vs. the normal V. Great construction and burn. Highly recommend trying one for yourself!
Mynamesnotdan on 06/17/15
The entire Olivia v series are great cigars, and the Melanio is quite possibly the best of the bunch. They have such a rich and full flavor, yet it is light enough to enjoy at any time during the day. Perfect for any occasion!
Smittyz on 06/08/15
The Melanio robusto is an excellent cigar. Just opening the box to see ten of these beauties sets the stage for what you're about to enjoy. The wrapper is flawless with a practically invisible seam. I used a Xicar V cutter to open the head. The preflight draw was tough so I performed another cut; making an X. Initial light-up brought excellent flavor with some pepper. This cigar is very similar to the Oliva V, only smoother. The flavor stayed excellent throughout the cigar. In fact, I enjoyed it so much I had to break out the nub tool to keep from burning my fingers. I'd rate this 5 stars if not for the tough draw. Perhaps a few months in the humidor at 65% will improve it. For now, 4-4.5 stars.
Short review of Oliva series V melanio
Cwbierer on 06/08/15
Extremely chocolatey. Has some decent spice to back it up. Wish it was a little creamier to go with the chocolate.. incredibly smooth all the way through. Spice picks up throughout the cigar and chocolate is ever present. Will definitely buy again
Oliva V Melanio
Helmet_touch on 06/08/15
It's very tasty! Oliva makes very solid smokes, nothing super complex. I'd probably smoke another, i probably wouldn't buy a fiver of them though. They're good, but nothing I'd pick up unless I was given it.
Serie V Melanio by Oliva
64oldsguy on 06/17/15
The construction was very good on this cigar which led to an excellent burn and draw. While I don’t overvalue the appearance of cigars for reviews, this is an beautiful cigar to look at while smoking. I enjoyed the box press shape and the double bands aren’t overwhelming. Even though the Serie V Melanio reaches full strength by the end, novice and veteran smokers alike should be able to enjoy this vitola. Novice smokers may feel the need to put it down before reaching the last third, I don’t see that as a tremendous loss since the cigar displays it’s full array of quality flavors in the first 2/3rds. The abundance of quality flavors in this cigar is not to be taken lightly. However, I feel the presentation of them fell somewhat short of what I expected. The Serie V Melanio presented various flavors that I enjoy but the proper dosage of them was incorrect, at least for me. This might correct itself in a different size or with more time to rest. I’ve seen this cigar rated very highly from various reputable cigar reviewers online and while my experience was enjoyable, I wouldn’t quite put it on the same level as the other reviews. My only assumption (take this with a grain of salt) is the cigars reviewed by me were purchased at local cigar store while the others were given a single cigar at the 2012 IPCPR. From past experience, blends do change from the IPCPR to what is sold to retailers on occasion. I had to make a decision between purchasing the Serie V or Serie V Melanio, which would I choose? Both of them. They are two different cigars with two different wrappers. They don’t smoke similar in flavor nor look similar in appearance so I feel they fill the needs of different niches. In my limited experience, I find the Serie V more enjoyable but I haven’t quite tried the various sizes offered in the Melanio so take that as my initial assessment. While the price point may be higher than most people are comfortable paying, I certainly feel it’s a cigar worth trying. I plan to keep maybe a “fiver” on hand to see how they age even though a box would only be a ten count.
Princehall46 on 06/09/15
This cigar is a very smooth delicious smoke, it has good flavor and maintains it's great consistency along with a great creamy aroma. This cigar also has a very good draw and doesn't disappoint. I definitely recommend all smokers, aficionados and novices to enjoy this smoke.
Nick1294 on 06/16/15
This was honestly one of my favorite cigars I've smoked. It has a great draw that stays consistent throughout. The taste is smooth and I found that it doesn't leave the typical "cigar" taste in your mouth. This is a 5 star cigar that is highly recommended
Not worth the price .
Davelcious on 06/15/15
I was not impressed as much as I thought I would be with this one. But I'm a fan of Drew estate blends. There was a good draw until about half way through when it got a little hot. Not too much flavor, just a real mild smoke.
CigarWilly on 06/15/15
I personally like most cigars in a robusto size. I was told by an older lady, who works at this particular humidor, that it had a nice spicy kick. Despite the fact that it was absolutely not spicy, it did have a good flavor. One of the many things I enjoy in a good cigar is a big cloud of smoke. I found I had to puff away to keep it lit.
Dplant14 on 06/14/15
This had now become my all time favorite. Smooth draw with great flavor and consistent draw. Have yet to have a bad one. Great earth tones with what I sense is a hint of caramel after taste. Very moderately priced as well.
My view of these wonderful cigars
Crazyleggs1 on 06/10/15
Very good cigar with a great draw and a nice after taste.Enjoyable smoke with a very consistent burn cigar after cigar.I have smoked everything from Cohiba Cuban siglos series to opus x and this cigar compares with the top level of cigars. It was good out of the box with basically no humidor time but got better(yes I said better) after setting in my 70% humidity humidor for few weeks.Basically if you haven't tried some of these you are doing your taste buds a disservice.Enjoy ladies and gentlemen
Mattran71 on 06/10/15
Nice cigar for the price! Really nice draw compared to other cigars, however, it did burn rather quickly for how big it is. Also the taste was very exquisite, you really will have a good time smoking this beauty of a cigar.
Full Strength and Box Press Complexity
Pianoguy11 on 06/14/15
Higher strength and good complexity from this box press. Earthy and floral tones are what I get here, and this is certainly not a cigar that you want to smoke early in the day. Draw and construction are relatively good for a box press. Solid cigar.
Olivia Melanio V
cwarner71 on 06/10/15
Being a beginner with cigars, I was hesitant to spend the money on this stick. I can honestly say it was well worth the money. A full flavored cigar that is not overpowering and can be easily smoked by those who prefer a more mild-med strength smoke. Highly recommend!
Avalon on 06/11/15
Loads of smooth creamy smoke. Starts with a mild/medium nut and cedar flavor profile and builds continuously into a heavy medium of not full bodies cigar with light spices. Flawless construction with only one vein in a mottled smooth wrapper.
Beats Everything Out There
Bradford on 06/11/15
I am a bit of an Oliva fanboy so I finally broke the bank and got a handful of these bad boys at my local B&M. The Melanio take the superb Serie V to the next level, and this has become my new celebratory cigar. I had read that the Melanio contained a hint of caramel flavor, which I did notice, though it was subtle.
SmokeEm! on 06/14/15
One of my favorites. This is always a consistent smoke. Medium to Full flavor. Spice notes that carry through the entire smoke. I recommend this Cigar to the novice and the aficionado. From sitting on your porch or being out on the golf course this is an every day cigar for every man and woman.
Like smoking chocolate milk
Ryno on 06/11/15
Beautiful construction and a wonderful dark and sweet flavor. One of my favorites, especially for the price. I cannot say enough good things about these. They are my favourite smoke put out by Oliva.x
red1 on 06/12/15
One of the best nica's out there. This is at the high end of my spending limit but it's totally worth it. This is a very rich and full bodied smoke. In not like the connoisseurs that can tell you what the roller had for lunch but I did notice cocoa and pepper. If you truly love cigars you need to at least get some Robusto's. Cigar Aficionado rated the Figurado #1 last year for a reason.
jimmyjimjames on 06/12/15
Smooth little cigar. It had decent oils on the wrapper. The was flavor consistent with what you would expect in a Maduro wrapper. The draw was tight, but smooth. I don't like too tight of a draw because I don't want to have to work hard to smoke a cigar and if it's too loose it burns too fast.
Buy this try this before they're gone
Ezlvn33@aol.com on 06/12/15
Love this cigar well worthy of all the good reviews that it has received. Great draw excellent flavor to the nub never burnt hot or got bitter all the way to the nub definitely not a yard gar take your time enjoy with a glass of blanton's if you can get it
Gone on 06/13/15
I like it Its a good cigar with good flavor what can I say it better than most I've had. I like it with tequila or a good ale beer. This is a all around good cigar with good wood falover I like it after a long day of work or golf game. Can't say more about it only that I enjoy it.
Slow burn on 06/14/15
Great draw and very smooth burn. Excellent rich taste. Over all a wonderful smoking experience. When I first lit it I though it might be a little too strong (I almost coughed up a lung) but it had been a while since my last smoke.

EdManne on 06/23/15
I personally really enjoyed it. I found it to have a smokey flavor not to the level of a darker cigar such as a VSG or CAO Brazilia, however still spicy and satisfying. I would compare to the taste/draw/finish of an A Fuente Best Seller / Short Story
Definitely earned Cigar of the Year!
DJSkopes on 06/21/15
There's a reason why the Melanio was named Cigar of the Year! Albeit a different vitola.... This cigar is creamy, smooth and well-balanced. Maybe a little light if you love full-bodied powerhouses, but otherwise, it's a phenomenal smoke!
Oliva melanio review
Cblasko on 06/30/15
Good construction, and an even burn. This cigar had lots of floral flavors with a little bit of spice. It was a complex smoke that changed throughout. Not my favorite flavors but if you like floral notes definitely give it a try
Melanio joins the Series V Excellence!
BrianXLR8 on 06/18/15
The Oliva Series V Melanio is one supreme smoke! It seems to typically be classified as a full bodied stick, though after smoking a few, I'm calling it one of the best medium-full profiles out there. The Series V is on my top 5 all time best list, with the Melanio being just a bit more mild, and a touch more refined. Most notable flavor characteristics drawn from the ligero filler include an earthy leather with a sweet cedar and just a touch of a light roasty vanilla. It's obviously heading to cigar stardom with the recent press and high accolades. With that, they are selling at full price, which is still a good value, and much more attractive than the Padron 64 family that delivers a similar flavor profile. Some wishful thinking may get the price per stick down a few bucks, which would lock the Melanio in as a go-to staple for me. For right now, book it at a 94 rating for me, with upside should that price come down.
Epg0 on 06/17/15
The Oliva Series V Melanio was rated number 1 on Cigar Afficiadio for a reason. This is a great smoke. It had a bit of pepper, but overall great profile. The robusto burned for about 1.5 hours. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys other offerings from Oliva.
leiderkev on 06/22/15
It a great cigar! loads of flavor. I love to have this cigar with a cup of coffee. Flavors I got from this cigar were a pepper mix with a little of dark chocolate and the finish a cream. It had a little hay to it also.
hidden connoisseur on 06/16/15
I mean this cigar is got to be in the top 5 in the world I mean it doesn't get any better its just well balanced well rounded full of everything you would want in a cigar. plus they have the Maduro It just increases the richness and flavor I mean you just can't look for anything any better it might be something that is as good but not better. Oliva just don't put out a bad cigar period.
Acasualcow on 06/09/15
Smoked very well, just wasn't really in my wheelhouse. In addition to the flavor a not being in my wheelhouse, I found that the cigar was also a little to strong for my liking. It didn't floor me, but I definitely had a strong buzz.
Jegreenies on 06/09/15
One of the best cigars I have ever had. It had great flavor. Very tight roll. Great little smoke, impeccably even burn and medium-full flavor profile. Leather, wood and chocolate with touches of marzipan from time to time. Limited spiciness.
2nolatch4 on 06/09/15
A little overpriced but a good stick. Notes of caramel in the first half of the cigar. Would buy again. Thanks again JR cigars for the prompt shipping and transaction. Overall a very good cigar. Was a little uneven in burning for the first half, but improved as it went. Notes of caramel and spice on the front end.
Peterman97 on 06/15/15
This is a very good smoke but it is definitely not the number one cigar the year I personally prefer the EP Carrillo La Historya, which is ranked the number to cigar of the year is much better. It's a very strong Cuban ask type of smoke but not much complexity in the flavors some pepperiness to it some woodsiness to it but overall that's just about it. Don't get me wrong this is not a bad cigar but don't believe all the reviews you read
No expert on 06/15/15
I wish I could bring myself to spend the money to make this my everyday any occasion stick. Consistent in taste construction and draw. Excelent long smoke over a single malt or good Irish whiskey. If you get a chance, go ahead!!!! You'll have no regrets. If you share one with a friend, make sure you really like him cause he'll want to hangout more after the experience.
Meh not a fan
Groove on 06/16/15
Decent construction with an almost perfect draw. However I wasn't a fan of the flavors at all... An odd sour/citrusy like taste that was not good permeated the entire cigar. Not #1 cigar of the year imo especially not at the price
Duece76 on 06/16/15
I will buy it again It was very good and consistent with a great flavor Had a woody taste with a nice even burn. Solid ash No burning issues I will buy these again. Great buy for the price. Even my wife likes these cigars My suggest these to my kids for a great idea for a Father's Day gift I would like to try more of this same brand of cigars. Maybe a smaller cigar would be more my style
Dchart on 06/09/15
Oliva is always a solid choice. I grab one everyone I go to a cigar shop. My humidor always has a few of these stocked. My husband and I both agree that all Oliva cigars are worth a try. They have a powerful yet very smooth flavor. I enjoy the smaller ones just because I only smoke a short time but this is my go to cigar!
Oliva Series V Melanin is a WIN!!
Angryfotoman on 06/14/15
The robusto is honestly my favorite size. Oliva puts pride into this stick and it shows. The presentation is spot on, pretty light aroma aromatic, burn is even and no problem, and I always end up smoking it down to where it burns my fingers ha ha ha. If you want a truly quality stick that will not break the pocketbook you cannot go wrong with the robust
Cortego on 06/15/15
Pretty decent smoke for the price. I'm not a huge fan of some oliva cigars but this one was different, I really enjoyed the smoke and will definitely get another one soon. I cannot wait to smoke this cigar again so I can see what it is like a second time around. I like to smoke cigars and this is a cigar so I liked it too.
Oliva gets it right
SMOK3Y on 06/09/15
Not a fan of Oliva in general, but you can't dent their quality. But this stick, this stick is different, a cut above. I've smoked 3 so far and all 3 have been identical in all forms, a truly enjoyable a pleasant smoke. Expertly mixes strength with flavor and smoothness, I can't wait to smoke another.
Bradlutz on 06/13/15
The first thing is a ton of smoke with a very pleasant sweet tobacco taste and an earth back bone. Slight pepper through the retrohale. It picked up a sweet bread note and left a tingle on the end of the tongue. the sweetness now resembles that of an 80% cacao chocolate bar still with lots of pleasant earth notes. The pepper is picking up more now and is more defined in the retrohale. it picked up a coffee bitterness that slowly pushed out the chocolate. The pepper can now be tasted on the tongue and is powerful on the retrohale
Oliva V Melanio Robusto
Austin Carroll on 06/08/15
This being the number one cigar in the world, I had very high expectations. It started off very well, spicy but not over the top, cedary, a little bit of hay. By the beginning of the second third, the spice was gone for good and the woody and hay flavors were very dominant with a little floral kick. I have to say, for all the hype I was disappointed. That being said, this is still a great stick, and performed very well with a very consistent burn, great construction, and pretty solid flavor. I just don't think it deserves all the hype it gets.
A totally delicious cigar.
Cigarhop on 06/14/15
A totally delicious cigar. A chocolate and woodsy smoke that is pretty consistent throughout. This cigar leaves you wanting more. It is one of those cigars that you will want over and over. This is a can't pass up cigar
You have to try it!
Dougsevier54 on 06/17/15
Very good smoke. One of the top sticks for a reason! Good draw, construction, and overall experience. My only takeaway is the value. I've absolutely smoked cigars much cheaper that were as good, or better. Go get your hands on one and find out for yourself!
mrsritchie8893 on 06/08/15
I love everything about this cigar it smokes we'll taste perfect and is by far one of my favorite cigars I have bought plenty of them in the past and will keep buying them in bulk if you love slow smoking cigars this is by far the best it is pretty cheap if you ask me if you also like great tobacco taste this is one of the best tasting cigars I have bought in the past 4 years you'll love it I promise
kurtkaymooney on 06/14/15
Overall, the wrapper was very uniform with a slight oily quality about it. Cold draw was very earthy with some slight cedar undertones. The overall burn of the cigar was slow and even I just the way it should be. Quite a bit of pepper in this stick (I usually prefer more mild bodied smokes) but presented some tasty notes of raisin, milk chocolate, and that wonderful cedar throughout... Great smoke!
Meh, it was okay
Wew5450 on 06/14/15
All I hear about this cigar is nothing but good things. I was given one a few weeks ago and I will admit, it didn't live up to what I expected. The cigar was well humidified yet it was like a dry smoke. I will try it again, but I'm not in a hurry to at this point.
Oliva has a winner.
CretinDan on 06/14/15
Beautiful wrapper, excellent cap, all veins are small. Nice smooth draw, but a slight plastic-y flavor. No hint in the lit smoke though. Roasted coffee, sweet like molasses. Toasted almond-like note. Halfway in I get a wonderful toasted coconut note. Creaminess just barely shows up, Halfway through, coconut, nice subtle change. Lots of black pepper on the finish. Lingers on the palate. Beautiful. One thing about Oliva cigars. Flawless construction. Every cigar I've ever had of theirs.

This particular Oliva is definitely in my top 15 cigars. Me being a Oliva fan anyway maybe I'm just a Homer. But the burn is even and smooth from first toast to final draw. Hints of sweetness on the back end and smooth all the way through on every pull. I'm my opinion this is a great cigar for beginners to start with. Easy to distinct flavors on the palette and not over powering to turn someone off. Great cigar. Highly recommend this particular Oliva.

The Ramon Allones Celestiales Finos is one of the two cigars released in 2009 for the Asia Pacific region. Its size, the britanica, is quite unusual and not seen in another Cuban cigar since the Romeo y Julieta Celestiales Finos was discontinued in 2002. Average user rating

Oliva Serie V Melanio
ericklingler23 on 06/14/15
This stick is pretty comparable to a Padron, but not as fulfilling on the flavor side. A great alternative though if the Padrons are a little out of your price range. The wrapper is well constructed with almost no visible veins. Very smooth. Tastes more on the medium side than full, smooth thick smoke and a hint of spice.
Bignick1900 on 06/08/15
I haven't quite found my cigar yet. Saw the rating on cigar afficinados and decided to try it. Nice flavor, good draw, touched it up maybe once. Other than that it lit well and was a good smoke. Would smoke it again.

Many of the Oliva cigars are in my personal favorites. These pack a good punch but are very smooth and taste beautiful. Well crafted and wonderfully made. The Serie V are among the even better if the Oliva Serie lines.
Great rich smoke.
Tobaccowhacko on 06/14/15
I'm a huge fan of these smokes, while a few of them had some consitancy issues from the box I purchased, overall they were 9/10 smokes for me. Great rich flavor and complex tasty notes of nut, cocoa, and some light coffee. Great when paired with a creamy vanilla root beer.
Bob on 06/13/15
There was very little prelight flavor from the wrapper. The light was nice and easy. There was consistent nutty flavors throughout. The cigar stayed consistent throughout the smoke. No construction issues and the wrapper stayed intact through the entire smoke. It was a great smoke. Paired with a glass of bourbon
Steady go to stick

Such a great cigar. This is my favorite side of all the melanios I have smoked. The flavors are all top-notch it's very sophisticated cigar The drawing construction are second to none and with the many of them that I have smoke so far I have yet to have a single issue in either regard Always like to have at least 4-5 in my humi.

All around great smoke!! It's a cant go wrong pick.. Whatever size is a win! After smoking this I know why it was chosen as a top 5 cigar of the year... From the pre light draw down to the last puff, solid smoke through and through

Great smoke, apt for celebrating the patriarch of the Oliva family. Full body full strength, great notes of cedar, honey, toast and cream. If i could afford it this would definitely be a regular smoke for me. Burn was razor sharp and construction was excellent, I smoked it down to the nub.
Above average smoke

As noted, construction was flawless. Not an overly complex smoke but good solid earthiness and leather throughout. Good smoke producer and perfect for someone who wants to step up from mild bodied cigars and expand their horizons.

Very well made tasty cool burning cigar. The flavor is outstanding and is very smooth long lasting enjoyable smoke. I highly recommend trying these. I have a few in my humidor and definitely will be getting more. There is not one negative aspect of this cigar. Very high quality and I am sure you will also enjoy it!
love the melanio

My favorite go to smoke. Very velvety smoke with plenty of output. each one feels like a luxury! Have tried all sizes and have never been disappointed. These are some of my favorite medium profiled special occasion sticks.
One of the best!

Consistently impressed by Oliva. This cigar was the top cigar of 2014 according to cigar aficionado. It has everything a quality cigar should and is one of my go tos when it comes to a slightly Spicey woodsy cedary smoke. Try one asap, nuff said!
Oliva Melanio is an experience!

The first puff was a bit spicy but after 4-5 it started to have a nice woodsy caramel taste. Very creamy towards the end and never got hot...nice puffs down to the very end. The Melanio is a great cigar but I still favor the Series V. Just my preference!

“Consistent quality is very important to me in cigars. I have found Oliva to be relentlessly reliable in the consistent quality of all the lines that bear their name. The “V” stands out even from that standard. It is one of a handful of uniquely exquisite cigars available to the average aficionado today. The praise it gathers is not hype and the experience is well worth the price of admission. One tip, use your nose to experience all the “V” has to offer and give it your undivided attention
