My favorite and house cigar offering

Big Jay on 05/27/15

What more can be said. This one occupies my humidor and is the one I offer to friends when we enjoy time on my deck. A great smoke. (even better when in Paris and the Cubans are available)

Great smoke big price

Jr on 06/17/15

Outstanding smoke. Nice steady burn with excellent construction. The only distraction is the price. If I hit the lottery and money was no object, this would be my every day smoke!

Not a real #2

Peg on 12/05/15

The latest are not true #2's. The length is the same but the ring is smaller. The wrapper is not as smooth as real #2 cigars. A good smoke but not a bargain. I may have been fooled if I didn't have several #2 in my humidor. The constant bait and switch is unjustified for loyal customers. These cigars appear to be not #2 but seconds.

#2 is #1

What happened to a favorite?

ivanj on 01/05/17

I agree with RkeO on all counts. Poor quality control. Taste has gone from a strong creamy cup of coffee to just another cigar. The White series is much better. Disappointment - was the gold standard Cuban or not.

Bad batch

Bg3 on 02/04/17

Very disappointed with this order. It's pretty hard to screw up a number 2 but JR managed to do it. 3 of the 5 are basically unsmokable. So dry they essentially fell apart as soon as I tried lighting. I couldn't store them in the humi for long as they were for a bachelor party. I've ordered a lot from Jr and usually have no issues so I'm hoping this was just a one time problem.

Very good; quality control needs work

Rke0 on 12/21/16

One of my favorite cigars period. I do not, however, smoke them regularly because defects are common. In my experience these often have air pockets, chipped wrappers, and once I even bought one that had a large hole in the foot.

A pointy tipped dream

Roadogg on 11/22/15

Montecristo No. 2 (Dominican) has a light brown to medium wrapper that is well crafted and holds together well. The draw is wonderful and cool. Taste Is wood and spice with a rich, mild flavor. A bit pricey but worth it.

Junk

Mocean on 07/03/16

This stick is an insult to the real monti number 2. The draw was very tight and the burn was terrible. Some cedar flavors with mainly hay and grass. One dimensional an not complex

Delectable

Buddy29 on 12/31/15

A top 5 cigar for me. Has a great taste and flavor, the draw was only slightly tough but otherwise a great cigar. Good medium body.

MONTE #2

richardcarson on 11/23/15

I have enjoyed the Monte #2 for years. The latest shipment was lacking the smooth even draw from earlier smokes.

Monty #2

aarontaubman on 10/22/16

A far cry from its Cuban counterpart. A mild creamy smoke with a sweet cedar and and a bit of a dry finish. Construction and combustion are flawless.

Whatever

carbonride on 10/19/16

I got this as part of a sampler pack from JR. This is just an OK cigar for me. I enjoyed it with with some Starbucks Sumatra coffee after lunch. This is a very mellow cigar that without the wrapper burning is absolutely no good. I mention the wrapper because I fought the wrapper all cigar long with half staying lit and the other half going out :( . I wouldn't buy it again because there are better cigars at a better price point.

Montecristo No 2 Torpedo

Fuentes 8-5-8 on 10/05/16

This is a mild-medium bodied cigar. Flavor notes: cedar, spiciness, cocoa, hint of coffee. Draw was ok but I had issues with others that I had to eventually discard. That was a disappointment especially w/ the price

This is one I keep in my humidor at all times. Good even burn and it's rolled really nice.

Not great

Herbe on 10/04/16

Not a bad cigar but nothing special about it. Flavor is very bland with just a tabacco taste. Spend your hard earned money on a different stick.

Average Smoke

atllogix on 09/18/16

This is your average run of the mill cigar. Nothing special but it does have decent mild flavors and decent construction as well.
