I've found montecristos to be mild in flavor, but very consistent across the board in draw and construction. if you like the mild, creamy flavors that montecristos have to offer, then they're perfect for you
Construction on point.
xXxRomeo on 11/04/15
Great burning cigar. That was the first thing that caught my attention, the taste and smell left some to be desired but the burn consistency is amazing. The draw is flawless with a v cut and it burned completely even the entire time.
Smoke The Monte!
poppy's on 11/04/15
This is the first montecristo i ever smoked! Nice smooth stick. A great anytime smoke, light body, medium smoke output with the nutty, cedar flavor. Great smoke for beginers or oldtimers. Hey, it's a monte! Smoke One!

Good but not great
walterhund on 04/30/16
I have smoked many Montecristo cigars in my day and they are great but this one was only good. The flavor was especially lacking for a premium cigar. The draw and construction were good but for the price it was not the best.
Typical Monte smoke
Shutterjack on 04/27/16
I personally believe the no. 2 to be the best smoke out there - bar none. But Montecristo's strong reputation is not wasted on this one either. A very reliable smoke with the flavor, body, and construction you expect out of a Monte. A wonderful smoke anytime
Love this stick
Trevor09n on 04/26/16
I love this stick. The construction and consistency is what speaks to me, just as much as the great flavors that you get out of this medium body cigar. The ash shows what you need to know about the cigar. Long, white ash that holds on for over half the cigar and has a prefect, razor sharp burn line
A benchmark cigar for quality and consistency
JimWhitman on 04/26/16
Very good, but a bit overrated, there are plenty of cigars at a better price with much more flavor, even as a mild smoke such as this. You're paying for the band here, but that band also implies consistency and quality.
One to try
Bsentaio on 04/19/16
Great flavors of leather a bit of sweetness and spice. Consistent flavors throughout with a medium strength and body. Nice resistance on the draw not too snug not too loose. Great burn time ending at nearly 2 hours.
35 years, a go to cigar for me.
Earle H. on 04/12/16
What can I say about Montecristo that hasn't been said. These are top shelf handmade cigars with superb construction that makes it a great smoking experience. The draw and burn are always spot on.
Montecristo No. 1 Review
Fuentes 8-5-8 on 04/10/16
Upon cutting/lighting cigar flavor notes that hit salty grass, woody, slight pepper spice. Very little smoke however very smooth. This is a mild-medium cigar upon lighting however.....continue reading. 45 minutes into smoking flavor notes of salty grass, toasted almonds, sweet coffee and finish spicy cedar with leather which is very earthy. Very slow burning cigar. 1½ flavor notes cinnamon, cedar, spicy leather, black pepper, and last (my favorite) bold dark coffee. At 1st very difficult to taste flavors due to barely any smoke coming out from draw. Towards end of cigar I would rate medium-strong cigar.
Gwinny on 04/09/16
The Montecristo number one is a delightful smoke. It leaves hands of all men's find tobacco and also chocolatey smoke in your mouth. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to enjoy every day stick and quite possibly open the pallet to something no or Doyle rules
My all time favourite
Kenny Stroh on 04/07/16
Montecristo is my all time favorite, it's woody, nutty, and sweet with touches of coffee and spice. Never boring, always consistent and a beautiful cigar for any time of day. Go out and try one now, you will thank me later

Montecristo is the staple of my cigar diet. It was one of the first smokes that I smoked that I enjoyed smoking. With a medium body and flavor and a great construction, all wrapped up with a smooth draw and finish th as the you come to enjoy and love. Can't be beat.
Cigarbacca on 04/05/16
Only lost one star on consistency because I can't afford to smoke these all the time lol so consistency isn't something I would be able to attest to, this cigar is the quintessential goto for someone who wants a great experience but beware it comes at a cost but still at what I would consider a great value!
Excellent cigar good price will smoke again
Rshxanadu2112 on 03/28/16
The Montecristo number 1 white series. I have always found Monte Cristo to be inconsistent however this cigar when you find one with a good draw has an excellent nutty flavor and a very solid finish. Normally I smoke my Monte Cristo's only if they're Cuban but I was given one of these cigars buy a close friend so I decided to give it a shot it did not disappoint.
Nor a cuban but pretty darn good
Brandonrit on 03/18/16
For those that don't have the ability to get a no. 2 these are probably the next best thing stateside. Good clean draw. Excellent construction and a great afterteste. Pairs well with b a morning coffee.
firstname.lastname@example.org on 03/17/16
Excellent Smoke. Excellent draw. Outstanding cigar. I would recommend this cigar over any that I have smoked including the Cubans given to me by grinds in South Flordia. It has really great flavors like vanella cedar & pepper.
Magnificent tasting cigar
Zesty on 03/15/16
Make sure you have 2 hours to enjoy this toothy rugged long cigar. This dark brown leathery wrapped cigar has an oily sheen. The construction is solid with a definite hard spot at the tip. The draw was resistive but not a big issue. The burn is very straight and the ash is a nice compacted grey color. No corrections or relight' needed . Pre draw aroma was a musty hay smell. The glover is a true Montecristo - wood and leather, this cigar a a Cuban twang to it. The first 3rd was exceptional and delicious - totally fruit forward. The 2end of the 1sr third is fruit forward with. fresh Cider taste and the start of the 2nd third evolves into a lemon peel and raisin flavor. This medium flavored medium taste cigar is impeccable. The final third shifts to a cherry wood taste that evolves back to all wood and ends with multi fruit flavor. The draw get tighter in the final third as well. This is a well balanced fabulous light tobacco cigar, Overall - great flavor and s total joy to smoke.
BlueJawbreaker on 03/15/16
Decent smoke with some body to it, not an overly smooth cigar yet not rough. I found the construction and the draw to be of good quality however the cigar is too bland for my tastes and not worth the cost.
PadronKing on 03/15/16
beautiful to look at and has an exceptional flavour. These cigars are physical and refined. They make a great pair with a nice port or rum. I would avoid a scotch that is either too oaky or peaty as it may overpower the cigar. Although they would not typically be my first choice I was pleasantly surprised. If you can manage to get an older box for a good price or have the ability to age them yourself, these are definitely ones to try. I am definitely looking forward to savoring them this summer.
Always a great cigar
Lvacgar on 03/14/16
Dark, oily wrapper, flawless construction. Minimal veining. Firmly packed, just the right amount of give when gently squeezed. Lit easily, burned perfectly with no correction necessary. Medium in strength until last 1/3. Cocoa overtones, not complex but not one note wonder. Nice smoke!
Would buy again
Snow04 on 03/14/16
it got really impressive with a delicious dark chocolate flavor. The wrapper cracked after a couple days of storing it in my humidor at perfect humidity, but it didn't affect my smoke. It was a difficult draw at first, as expected for such a big cigar, and every huge draw I would take occasionally had very little smoke to compliment that draw. All in all, I wouldn't say it was impressive at first but really caught my attention after I reached mid-body.
Banjo on 03/13/16
When good these are one of the most underrated smokes! Elegant, refined, sophisticated...Wonderful evolvement staring light and developing to med/full. Hint of cedar along with all the best of the MC profile of flavours. My most recent box just one year of age and very good indeed - am smoking half the box now and have put the other half away to age. Medium colour, beautiful box pressed appearance - all round deliscious.
thedoman on 03/10/16
Not the best cigar I've had but not the worst. It has it's place in the line up. Finishes better than it starts which is always good. Draw gets better as you smoke and the flavors cone through in the end in spades. Wish the first draw was better
Lower end Montne
jimb05 on 03/09/16
Huge Monte fan but this one left me wanting more. It was good, but compared to others I've smoked (especially TEXAS Edition), I've had much better. Still, worth trying if you haven't yet and like Montecristo's
Nutty nutty nutty
RollTide CrimsonWhite on 03/08/16
These cigars are generally well constructed and are from a widely respected manufacturer. Boat falling well short of their CC counterparts, they're not a bad cigar. If you like a more nutty flavor profile these should be right up your alley
G. Washington on 03/07/16
An absolute cracker. Great flavour and a total joy to smoke. I’m surprised not to see this Lonsdale mentioned more on Forums because it is genuinely outstanding. A little word of caution though, for two of it’s thirds the Monte No 1 seem docile, but in final third the tobacco strength increases dramatically, and you will notice it on standing up.
Another monte favorite!
Rexpepper651 on 03/06/16
Beautiful smoke! Montecristo does it again. Im a big fan of their work. The construction is airways beautiful. Perfect draw every time. this is my go to morning stick to go with coffee. Give it a try if you love smooth flavorful smoked.
Will..b on 03/01/16
These cigars were a little to light for me, I didn't really get a flavor smoke out of these cigars, the smoke was very light, the burn was even and nice, but not strong enough for me, if you are looking for a entry level cigar these would be one of the ones I recommend.
Great for a good time
Ksc23 on 02/29/16
It's a big cigar, it's fun and not to expensive. Bought a box of these for poker night to enjoy with a bunch of my friends that have never smoked. Highly enjoyable and it gives you that look you want when playing cards
Smoking on 02/26/16
Monte Crisco number one one of my favorites 5 out of 5 every time. Balance 12 flavors always great and you can consistency I must there always right. You get a sweetness and balance like none other well worth the price I was just to Robusto maybe even the Churchill can't miss out on this guys get it while you can
Mike on 02/25/16
I picked this stick up at a local tobacconist and let it bloom in my humidor for 2 weeks. After lighting it the room smelled like heaven. The draw and consistency was excellent. Then it started to tunnel. So I put it down to rest. After lighting up again I tasted notes of wood and sweetness. Too mild for my taste but the flavors were there. More of a morning smoke for me. Rating. .....3.9 out of 5
Nfimbrez on 02/25/16
Oh man what a cigar, now this is an amazing cigar every time. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a smooth cigar that burns great and is consistent 100%, if you want a daily smoke and a cigar that has great flavor and excellent burn quality than this is for you.
I would recomend this
RyGuy's review on 02/24/16
On initial light I got pepper which I'm not partial to but went away after a couple puffs. It was smooth, creamy, complex. Strength was a medium that turned to a full at the end. Very good over all.
A good smoke but not for me.
Bobrice on 02/24/16
I had the pleasure to smoke the Monte Cristo number 17 in a cigar bar in Las Vegas. Hi. It with a nice brandy and it's smoked well but I did not like the flavor as much it was a little bit to leathery for me an ice coffee notes and peppery but not my style it pairs well with the brandy. Although I did not care too much for it I would you recommend it for a lighter smoked as it is not as cold as I like.
Beastiekid on 02/23/16
Montecristo is probably my favorite brand of cigars. The No. 1 by Montecristo does not disappoint. While the No. 2 I found to be more of a satisfying smoke, the No. 1 will leave you pleased if you you prefer a more classical flavor of smoke.
bakerlg on 02/22/16
Montecristo is in my eyes one of the premier manufacturers of cigars today. The no. 1 is fantastic. Very clean and took a long time to burn. Only thing I don't like is the price but if money isn't an issue this is a great choice
Thclemens on 02/19/16
These are great sticks, one of my top ten. Flavor, draw and construction are outstanding and always consistent. A little spendy but always worth the splurge. I'd be proud to offer the Queen of England herself a MonteChristo.
One of my best cigars
Fatman31 on 02/19/16
To me it was a very good smoke. It had a great taste and wasn't that strong just like I like it. The burn line was even didn't have to touch it up not once. The cigar seem to get smoother as it went along.
Dmcopa on 02/11/16
This cigar is an OK cigar. I think it would be more of a beginner cigar smokers choice because it isn't great and it isn't terrible plus it's affordable I think it's more of a blend taste because it's not very consistent but it's still good.
a good stick
fredthehead on 02/11/16
this is a good smoke .well worth the time to take and enjoy it.nice easy draw, starts a little slow on flavor but about a quarter way it picks up and begins to fulfill its name.great finish.overall good cigar maybe I should not rate cigars since I have only a 1000 count humidor and been smoking cigars for 30 years
Look no further
Smoky Ray on 02/09/16
Very mild in strength yet full of flavor. I was given one by my barber when my son was born. I liked it so much I went to my b&m and bought some to give away to friends and coworkers to celebrate my son. All around a great cigar, won't let you down.
upinsmoke on 02/06/16
I can't say enough good things about these cigars! Oh man the wonders that come out of Altadis these days. While pricey these skinny sticks are worth every penny. Light bodied and yet full of flavors like pepper, tobacco, leather, and cocoa, they are just right for a middle of the day luxury smkke before the BBQ and football game starts up. Mmmm I think I may have to go smoke one right now! Buy a box, and you won't regret it.
Tasty tasty tasty
Jkeaton32 on 02/04/16
Monte is probably my favorite they never get old or seize to amaze me they make some truely awesome smokes . This one is nothing less than a awesome smoke . Would recommend it to anyone because it is not to strong at all.
Eljave on 02/03/16
This Montecristo No. 1 stick is good for the price. Had a tighter draw than most and had to touch up the uneven burning once. Still overall a good cigar. Peppery and earthy taste. Medium body that wasn't too over powering. A good pick up if you haven't tried one.
Not my favorite Montecristo.
ID on 01/30/16
This is one of my least favorite cigars by Montecristo. I actually am a very big Montecristo fan but this took me by surprise. The drawer was not what I was used to buy Montecristo flavor was still consistent with construction was not favorable.
Stoney on 01/23/16
I absolutely loved smoking this guy right here, awesome draw, construction, and consistency. Always loved montecristos but this is definitely a must if you have never tried any montecristo brand cigars. Go ahead and do yourself a favor and buy a 5 pack!
Don't skip on this cigar
Acssarge55 on 01/23/16
Love this cigar. It is in my top 5 without a doubt. Everything about it is great, the draw, flavor, construction are all near perfect. If I could afford to buy this everyday then I would because this is thay good of a stick
Dragonlady808 on 01/21/16
Cannot go wrong with a Montecristo. Coffee, cocoa and vanilla with a touch of nuttiness at the end. I could taste a little cedar at first draw but that petered out in the 1/3. Burned beautifully! Ash held past 1 1/2" and could have held longer if not for my unsteady hand.
Hard to find a good one... But when you do...
Big draw McGraw on 01/20/16
They haven't been nearly as good as their Cuban counterparts lately. Inconsistent draw from stick to stick. I'll only buy one as a single or an opened inspected box from a trusted source. A local shop doesn't even carry them due to Altadis' poor marketing of the 'yellow box' line to shop owners in comparison to the almost (but not) identical Classic Series recently. I don't have the experience to break it down into thirds, but I smoke any good cigar I can obtain, and a good exile montecristo YELLOW BOX no. 1 is the base by which I judge all others.
Great construction, light on flavor
Itsthenoff on 01/17/16
The Montecristo No. 1 is a great cigar in terms of draw, construction, and having a slow even burn. It is exceptionally smooth. However, this cigar is boring, with hardly any trace of flavor outside of a woodsy taste. It is a perfect cigar for beginners because it is so gentle, but there are much less pricey cigars that accomplish as much.
Extra smooth and tasty
Jdk on 01/16/16
This is my go to Monte Christo and they age very well I have a few left in my humidor that have been there for two years and they just keep getting better. These might be on the expensive side but very very nice
Great taste but finish may vary
Screen_name on 01/10/16
One of my favorites. Creamy coffee notes throughout, fairly consistent from stick to stick. The construction can be a little rough around the edges but I've never seen anything structurally wrong with these guys.
For the cigar smoker who doesn't want a cigar taste
CigarsNStocks on 01/08/16
This might be the most plain tasting cigar I've ever smoked. On the other hand, it's smooth. Just don't expect much other than a hint of wood flavor but outstanding construction.
Mw on 01/06/16
The taste of numbers 1, 3 and 4 is quite the same, coffee, cocoa and vanilla flavours blended in great harmony with a medium tobacco taste. A minimum ageing of at least three years is recommended for this cigar to find its real potential.
A Cigar Smoker on 01/05/16
Aside from the draw, my recent experience with the Monte #1 format was a good reminder of why I used to rely on the Monte Cristo fairly regularly. Sure, there are plenty of other Connecticut-wrapped smokes on the market, and many of them can be purchased for less. But this blend, when at its best, has a wonderfully balanced profile of traditional Connecticut flavors that’s more unique than you might expect. monte cristo a timeless classic
Long and lean and beautifully balanced
Maverick59 on 01/04/16
Long light tan Lonsdale, a slender well packed beauty of a cigar...lush and smooth and warm like a beautiful lady's leg:-). If you're looking for knockdown strength and kick in the head flavor look elsewhere but if you are looking for a nice medium mellow strength with a very creamy taste with a touch of vanilla and cocoa and just a lot of class this is it. Montecristo never seems to disappoint me. A beautiful well made Connecticut shade wrapped around a wonderful blends of filler with a great ash and draw. Would likely just get better with age but don't be afraid to smoke it young
Jemos814 on 01/04/16
I've smoked a few of these, great flavor and burn, but they seemed to fall apart on me. Thought it was my humi, but I haven't had issue with any other stick in there. If I could get it to hold together it would be amazing
You can't go wrong
Ajharter0603 on 01/02/16
Montecristo awww! It would be hard to pick my favorite cigar but if I had to, this might be it. Great flavor and great burn that lasts for quite some time. Highly recommend for special occasions and in social smoking.

Montecristo #1, do really need a review for this? Show me a Puro lover doesn't like Montecristo, I show you a person with poor palate. Yes it cost more than regular Puro, but, what you pay is what you get. As always, it is personal opinion and personal taste.
Great addition to humidors
Vtbullmoose on 12/31/15
Hey its a Montecrisco. These have always been a personal favorite. In all the cigars I have smoked over time these hold the flavor and draw so consistent from the first draw to the last. Would be a great addition to anyone's humidor.
SteelCityteam on 12/27/15
This is one of my favorite smokes. Lots of flavor. Pepper and spice but not a strong smoke. This could be classified ad a newbie smoke and a savey veteran smoke as well.ga construction as to be expected with Montecristo name.
AJ on 12/26/15
My aunt brought back a whole Montecristo sampler pack from Cabo. All montes taste great in my opinion. This one in particular is a great porch sitting, sweet tea sipping, watching the kids play in the summer grass type cigar.
Great cigar. Not a great value.
Tommyb04 on 12/23/15
You can't go wrong with this cigar. I love these when I'm not the one paying for them. There are plenty of other cigars for slightly less that can boast the same excellent flavor and quality construction, but with the montes, you're paying a premium for name and prestige.
Timber Cruiser on 12/21/15
Was very surprised by this stick as I am not a big fan of the smaller Montys. Received this as a free gift from JR and was pleasantly surprised. A short settle down in the humi and a great smoke. Mild with spice notes but very smooth.
the count on 12/12/15
I found this stick to be good, but not extremely good. I think it's a bit overhyped, but not entirely undeserving of its praise. the draw was tight for me and the flavors subtle. consistency is very high between sticks.

These are great cigars what else can I say. As good as it gets for a Dominican monte. They have a nice med body flavor, good creaminess and nutty. Great construction you can't go wrong. Always good price.
Curly on 12/01/15
Overall this was a pleasant cigar. The ash was mostly darker to medium gray and was semi firm. The draw was smooth and combined with the bit of sponginess of the cigar made for a faster smoke than would be expected for this size of cigar. The burn was mostly even through the smoke
Not the best no order next time bud
SmokeyCigars on 11/29/15
From a class maker without the features of a classic cigar. I was expecting more. The cigar was a little dry as if it was not kept correctly. It did not burn like other cigars I have tried and had a bitter flavor. All around not too good.
Very good for a dominican cigar.
Darkpartys on 11/28/15
I'm not a big fan of Altadis, but this is a very good cigar that lives up to the Montecito reputation. The construction is as near to perfect as your going to get. I don't prefer the flavour, as it is not in my profile, but is good for what it should be.
I bet Bigfoots toenails are long
Triz167 on 11/23/15
I mean come on.... It's a cristo and like usual it doesn't disappoint! The flavor is full and everything about it is great. I always enjoy the last 1/2 the most and in this stick it really ignites!!
