Full-bodied, Smooth Operator

Cigar Indian on 04/26/15

This is a honey of a smoke. Beautiful, dark wrapper. This cigar starts spicy with hints of cayenne pepper, which quickly adds a chocolately, coffee flavor, with hints of leather and other complexities. Throughout the even and consistent burn, it delivers a long, long, pleasant finish. A creaminess appears at 1/3 to 1/2, and it builds some strength in the final third which is not harsh if you let it rest appropriately between puffs. That is hard to do because it's so damn tasty. This cigar is Cuban in character and well represents it's Nicaraguan heritage. Smoke if you got 'em!

Not For Me

Fairfax Dave on 12/06/16

Bought a box of three to try after it received such high ratings. Two-thirds of the way through the box. My thought is "this was rated #1?" Nope. Poorly constructed on at least half of them. Mediocre draw. Flavors are good, full-bodied. But overall I'd say you can find better value for your money.

Poor Draw, Uneven and Difficult Burn

cmonaco2 on 08/03/16

Perhaps I just received a poorly wrapped stick but it had a very difficult draw and I had to relight it several times before finally giving up. As for taste, it smelled amazing but was a little too full bodied for my liking.

This was a fantastic smoke. Really enjoy the torpedo shape. Nice oily wrapper and great flavor. Smoked it down to my fingers.

Don't waste your money.

Jim M. on 03/22/16

Way overrated. Poorly made, spongy, uneven burn, several relights. Cigar Aficianado says #1 for 2015? What've they been smoking? Bought a box, tried 2 so far. Can I send the rest back?

Great Flavoe

Tsd25108 on 03/14/16

Extremely well built smoke. Beautiful press, firm, and great draw. Pepper, cedar, exotic tobacco in the flavor. Highly recommended.

What can I say, it's a "My Father"

Krykar1611 on 11/08/16

There is nothing to say, that probably has not been said, this is a #1 rated cigar that totally deserves this status. But only for those that enjoy the stronger side of the bar, by no way for the newcomer or most occasional partakers of the tobacco. With that said....has there ever been a "My Father" that did not deliver.

2017

The Farmer on 04/24/17

No complaints on draw or burn. The texture was sublime. I prefer the finish of my cigars. I actually preferred the first 2/3 of this stick. Not a normal thing for me. My wife never has to wait on me for this one. I can let it go at the end. So great cigar out of the shoot but she finished short for me

Great

Great cigar. The draw was nice and the burn was even. There is a reason it was a highly rated cigar.

#1

Buckto on 12/31/16

The torpedo version of this blend is pretty special when compared to the others. I can see why this vitola was chosen over the others for #1 spot. The flavors are very similar to the Toro but the torpedo shape concentrates those flavors. The only downside is this can cause draw issues. The cigar is absolutely beautiful in appearance though

earns the #1 smoke of 2015

Drgim321 on 07/24/16

This one of the best burning cigars I have ever smoked. The light is a little harsh but quickly become a very made-full bodied smoke, rich in flavors - chocolate through the body and coffee in the finish.

This is my go to size for special occassions or long golfing days. This blend tastes great and the torpedo draws excellent.

My Father Was Never This Good To Me

pettman on 04/18/16

The folks at Cigar Aficianado know what they are doing with this highly rated smoke. Great draw, great price and nice mild flavor. Long lasting cigar that stays lit. A must buy for your humidor.

Great smoke

Biggertroy on 12/13/16

I can't say enough good things about this cigar. It has lots of different flavors that seem to develop with each draw. It's a very strong cigar and you need time to enjoy it . I love this and all other My Father cigars

Great Cigar, well worth the $

Moose1982 on 05/23/17

Being it is a dark brown wrap, Maduro, I expected it to be more bold but was pleasantly surprised. Great cigar.

Needs work

Bjewell on 04/19/17

While in Florida I snagged one of these for 11$. Pleasant 1/3 but down hill from there. Hard to stay lit and flavor was lacking. Like a wet dog at 1/2 way point.

I am not a torpedo fan in any way but with this cigar I'm willing to smoke this blend in any shape. Continues to be a pleading cigar for me b
