Originally from the island of Jamaica, Macanudo Cigars was originally founded under the name General Cigar. Unfortunately, due to tough circumstances, the company was moved to the Dominican Republic where it flourished into the brand we know and love. Today, General Cigar Co. is one of the most renowned names in the cigar industry – and it all started with the innovative handmade Macanudo cigars. i am very pleased and enjoy this product the cigars are fresh --i also appreciate the quick handling -- shipping of this product--there is no doubt that jr cigars is tops in quality and timely shipping thank you
An excellent cigar
By far one of my favorite cigars to smoke. This cigar always pleases me, with its elegant draw as well as its excellent taste. Personally I would recommend this to anyone starting to explore the world of cigars. Also the aroma left by this cigar is excellent.
Strong all around
Strong flavor all the way through. Final third got very strong. The start has strong hints of spice, and it mellows out toward the second third. Final third flavor picks up big time and the spices hit again. Nice draw, zero wrapper issues. Even burn all the way through with no touch ups needed.
Great little cigars!
Macanudo is, in my mind, on the list of cigars that everyone should try at least one of. They always have good, cool burning flavor and are perfect for the new person just starting out or the experienced enthusiasts looking for a break from the full bodied butt-kickers.
not so great
I have smoked a few of these and haven't enjoyed them. They seem to have a bitter taste, not very pleasant. From what I smoked it seems like the wrapper falls apart fairly easily as well. I wouldn't recommend these or buy any again. Nothing against the brand, they do make side good ones. Sure ascots are cheap, but the quality isn't there.

Not as good as they used to be, cheaper made!
No smokey on 05/04/15
Some draw easily others you can hardly draw. Mouth piece is short one wrap unlike the earlier years that had a better mouth piece. Very expensive for what you get. Buck fifty for a 20 minute cigar? Quality seams to ave deteriated!
Bigmike636 on 07/21/15
Always stop and get a smoke for the weekend, picked up one of these suckers on a Friday and it smelled so good I had to smoke it, cigar has a good draw, lots of flavor, and a petty nice consistent burn all the way thru
Good for a short drive
Popeye00701701 on 06/08/15
Great with a light roast coffee, it can be a little firm on the draw, but it's a great cigarillo for the morning commute. I used to keep a tin of these in reach all the time when I was stationed in Pearl.
tshort on 06/19/15
Has a very nice and even draw. Big boughs of creamy white smoke. Construction is good, started canoeing a bit but was able to control it. Flavors of toast, a slight hint of vanilla with cedar undertones make this quite enjoyable.
not for the aficionado
Peterman97 on 06/17/15
The cigar is perfect for guys who like smoking cigars who know nothing about cigars. Generic bland but at least it doesn't taste like grass or horse poop. It's mild and strength smoothie flavor is perfect for the amateur just wants to enjoy a stick on the course or out with his buds every once in a while,
Mattran71 on 06/11/15
Exquisite taste is one thing about this remarkable cigar and the cigar brand as a whole. One reason I purchased this cigar and the cigar brand was to try a new cigar I have never smoked before. By far a reasonable price for such a spectacular cigar!!
3.5 star cigar
Duece76 on 06/17/15
The macanudo is a decent cigar. The flavor is pretty mild to medium. It has a great construction and has a good draw. I actually like the construction of this cigar. I would prefer a cigar with a little more flavor. For the low price it is a decent cigar. Very good ash on it as well
Good for the money
dwebb on 06/12/15
This is a decent mild cigar. Although it was mild it was very smooth which I prefer for the less common times I smoke in the morning. It burned fast but cool. It was somewhat sweet and enjoyable. Not my first choice for a quickie but you should definitely have a few on hand due to the value.
jimmyjimjames on 06/12/15
I used to like macanudo cigars, but for the last couple of years they seem to be declining in quality. I will say, I much prefer the macanudo Maduros to lighter wrappers, but this is ok. It has a tight yet smooth draw and a consistent burn. Overall, not a bad cigar, just not my favorite.
Rdogg on 06/15/15
Smoke a few of these... Too mild for my liking. The larger format Macanudo cigars are a good mild change of pace but the flavor just was not there with the Ascots for me. I will stick with the bigger sizes on this blend...
Good for the beginner
Ezlvn33@aol.com on 06/13/15
To myself all in all this is a very consistent smoke . Mild to medium in strength . With a consistent good draw . Well constructed and even burn .. tends to burn alittle hot and gets a little bitter on the last third. Good gar for those that don't like a full flavor cigar
Joseph on 07/03/15
This is my "every day" smoke and that is no compromise. This smoke is great every time.It is mild and brings back memories of making homemade whipped cream. The only time I smoke something else is when I want a longer smoke or to try something new. I have smoked several hundred of these, shared them with all of my friends even those that dont smoke cigars often say they were so good they are always disappointed with other cigars they try.
Macanudo ascots are right for me
Thesmokingbandit on 06/14/15
I'm not big on big cigars but a nice smooth ascot sure hits the spot. Tried many cigars and settled with Macanudo ascots. Shipping price is good and delivery is fast. Customer service is prompt and no issues go unnoticed. Also, the moisture sealed tins are the ones that are too tight to smoke. Always get the cellophane wrapped tins that allow to breath.
Richburris66 on 06/19/15
These are mostly smaller cigars(cigarillos) but have a great taste. They last longer than most cigarillos and are a mild to medium cigar. They are a little pricey like most Macanudos but that's because of the high quality tobacco in them. I recommend them.
red1 on 06/12/15
This is a good smoke for the price. It's mild but isn't bland. If you're a serious cigar fan you most likely prefer complex flavors. This is not the cigar for you. You should have this cigar in your humidor though. We all have those moocher friends. This is a respectable puffer for a novice so you can hand these out and save those 90+ rated nicas for those that will appreciate them.
8 / 10
daiyamo126 on 06/17/15
Fairly good stick. Budget some time for this one as it is not a short smoke. Flavors of wheat, shortbread, toast and coffee. Strength and body are at a medium for me. The construction was good, but not perfect. Overall a solid cigar.
New to me!!
Rpenfour on 06/18/15
Great cigar. I'm new to the cigar world, but I'm enjoying these. I would recommend this cigar to anyone who is just starting out. Not a real harsh flavor, very enjoyable, nice even burn and a great buy. I will certainly put these on my keep list.
A great smoke
Crazyleggs1 on 06/14/15
This Cigar is a great addition to any humidor and any collection. They have a great draw and Taste is very consistent throught out the whole smoking cigar.@ It is exactly what you would expect from a brand that we all have grown to expect quality stick after stick and these do not disappoint.I bought a few of these from a local brick and mortar and passed out to friends after dinner and got the same response from everyone that they were great smoke and we usually smoke cohiba, uppman,Romeos and Olivas just to make a few and these fit right in with draw, construction, and taste through out.
Consistent, mild cigar
Smittyz on 06/09/15
The Macanudo is always a pleasant experience. If you're a fan of mild cigars, you can't go wrong here. They are consistently well constructed and the flavor is the same every time. I prefer to smoke a Macanudo early in the day paired with coffee and cream.
Macanudo not worth your time or money!
Jec2k on 06/22/15
I don't like this cigar or any macanudo for that matter. There are so many more cigars at similar price points that are so much more well constructed and don't fall apart and taste terrible. If I were to be given one I'd give it to someone else to smoke.
Excellent first timer stick
Cigarmedic on 06/08/15
It was an overall pleasing smoke on a par with what I expect with Macanudo theese are a cigar I would start someone off with to learn. Not overly mild but you know your smoking a cigar . Started a bit peppery but mellowed out quickly to mild earthy muted tones. I would definitely keep this blend around in my humidor for newbies and when I want something milder and lighter
Mac Mac Mac
Tim on 06/29/15
Wow love my cigars mike and mellow and doesn't the ascot deliver. Well constructed, smoke draw and I swear to you I could smoke one after the other all day long and each puff would be exactly like the last. I gues that is why they are the best God love the Mac
Give it a try
CannoliSmokes on 07/07/15

Smooth and toasty
Cruisinsounds on 06/14/15
Macanudo always puts out s quality stick that sits firmly in the mild range. This stick is no different, toast and honey abound. A little too light for my pallette but a good go to for the morning or mild smoker
Stronger than you'd think
Slow burn on 06/14/15
Being an enthusiast of darker cigars, I assumed that the flavor of his one would be a little light. Not so at all. This cigar tastes much darker and heavier. The draw was more resistant than I would have expected, which did lead to some unexpectedly strong draws and some coughing.
Perocafe on 06/18/15
this is one of Maconudos best cigars. It's a great light cigar. No harsh draw, with earthy flavor. I smoked it past the band; it was that good. I will definitely continue to smoke this brand. I hope this helps any first time Maconudo Smokers.
Good value, tight draw, smooth and creamy
Afoltz92 on 06/09/15
Not a bad short smoke, the long filler is smooth and creamy, but it had some very definite draw issues. The burn was straight, and the length is perfect for the morning commute, and it goes great with a cup of coffee, but it's too easy to overpower it's taste
Great for the price
ThePrince on 06/09/15
It's prime cigar it's well worth the cost it not the .99 cent cigar you get at the gas station. Well worth the money highly recommends getting. The price is not to high and if your are thinking about triing them pull the trigger. H. H
Good go to smoke
Jsdphilly on 06/13/15
I always have some magnetos in my humidor because they are nice to get out to people who are only the occasional smoker. The flavor and builder pretty good my experience of flavors are not that complex but it is a good go to cigar if I'm out fishing on the boat golfing on Saturday morning or just anything where I'm going to be preoccupied but still want to smoke a stick
Frontrowme on 06/21/15
I really enjoyed this smoke. The Carmel brown wrapper was appealing to my eye and is one of the reasons I decided to give this one a try. I'm so glad I did and now I keep 10 of these in my humidor for those nice summer days! I do have quite have a mix in my humidor and believe strongly that the better variety in your humidor the better it is for all your cigars. I believe this guy has helped a few of my other cigars taste better as well. Come to think of it it's time to order another bunch as I'm going to go smoke one of these beauties today!
mrsritchie8893 on 06/08/15
This is a pretty good cigar not one of my favorites but still pretty good it's taste is good not the best though if your looking for something a little more this is the cigar for you not to expensive but not the greatest cigar either I smoke them when working to pass time cause it takes a while to smoke them I will definitely buy more in the future hope yall also liked thus cigar
Lots of bang, little buck.
Mr. CoolCol on 06/14/15
There is very much that could be said for very little cigar. The Macanudo Ascot cigarillos are exceptionally made with their Connecticut wrappers, their mild body and incredible smoothness. While the wrapper is quite thin, there are supple veins running throughout. Naturally sweet, there is nothing better for the short drive home than one of these Dominican Republic cigars
jgsmoke on 06/08/15
This is a little thirty minute cigar. It is very mil like many cometicut wrapper sticks. If thats what you are into check it out. A good way to pass the time. It is also very afordable if you are on a budget. Also good to smoke in the car On a road trip.
great mild cigar
BigBeefy88 on 06/26/15
A nice cigar that is very mild, with great construction and good draw, I enjoyed the creamy taste, the construction was on point as the cigar to me was almost seamless in appearance, overall a great smoke that I would recommend to anyone looking for a mild cigar.
Bowie cigar lover on 06/27/15
I have never had a bad macanudo. I do enjoy the ascot but my favorite are the prince Phillip and the duke of whales. Wifes really enjoys the aroma and has brought me these on more than one occasion as a hint.
Acasualcow on 06/13/15
The macanudo mascot...what a cigar. A friend picked this up for me and told me he got it for a decent price so I told him I would smoke it and let him know what I thought. Well, it was a decent cigar...just not really up my alley. Construction wise it was perfect.
Okay smoke for the price
Justn on 07/10/15
The Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper on the Maduro Ascot is a wonderful dark chocolate colour. On this particular stick the wrapper leaf had one thick vein, but other than that it was quite smooth and well formed. The aroma was wonderful and smelled sweetly like figs. I snipped the end carefully with a sharp pair of scissor cutters, unfortunately, the the cap flaked off due to no fault of my own. The outer leaf was also wrapped poorly, and with the missing cap, it began to peal away. A quick lick and a twist held it in place enough to proceed with lighting.
chinchillakilla on 07/07/15
I picked this stick up in a small beach town that only had a few to choose from in their humidor. It turned out to be a great stick for a hot day, the mild flavor profile went great with the margaritas I was drinking as I walked along the beach with the water at my feet. A great vacation smoke that I would buy again.
DubbsBear on 06/16/15
The Ascot is a great cigar. For me it's a bit on the expensive side for an everyday stick, but worth it if you like a smooth smoke that isn't too heavy. I smoke a Chateau Fuente As my daily, so this is a great alternative.
Killinit on 07/08/15
Definitely a pretty decent smoke. It's certainly not my favorite cigar but worth giving it a try. Most of the others I smoked it with enjoyed it more than myself and some even say it's their favorite cigar!!! So give it a try.
Deserves a least one time
33egc33 on 07/13/15
I am not a huge fan of Macanudo but this cigar deserves respect. A good smoke for an okay price, I was a little concerned with the burn, but the flavor was solid throughout! Sit back and enjoy this one...
Good not great
Broheim88 on 07/17/15
I was slightly dissapointed with this one because it wasn't consistent like I had expected. It didn't taste as good as the larger sizes and the wrapper was a lot darker than a typical macanudo. I will definitely stick to something bigger like the Hyde park.
Bongson69 on 07/19/15
This cigar is in line with all the macanudo cigars, it's a very nice almost medium cigar and its worth every dime you pay and i always keep a few in my humidor, its a semi sweet cedery taste and if your not carefull it will burn your lips, its that good, get a whole box, you wont regret it, 5 star smoke !!!
W_King_7 on 07/19/15
It's a reasonable price compared to its competitors but it does not go above abd beyond compared to other Dominicans in its price range. Being a mild- medium body, it does leave some desiring more flavor after a 1 hour smoke
You can do better
Don on 07/19/15
I only had 10 bucks to spend so I say this cigar and decided do give it a shot. For 10 dollars j got a box of 10 of them. They are a smaller cigar that are packed so tight into the metal tin, were a bit hard to remove. Once I did I noticed the tip is very small, Be careful cutting. Once I finished I had a burnt, charcoal like taste I didn't enjoy. Overall for the price I can't complain too much
Scott on 07/20/15
The Macanudo Ascot is a cigarillo style smoke with a length of 4 3/16 and a ring size of 32, so you can easily see that it's a pretty small cigar. I picked up a tin of these (there are ten cigars in a tin, pardon the pun) to have something on hand that I could smoke pretty quickly when time wouldn't permit me to smoke a larger, regular sized cigar. I finished the tin and came away with rather mixed feelings about this little cigar. The Macanudo Ascot appears to be a well-made cigar. The natural wrapper was almost seamless, and it enclosed a mixture of two or three different fillers. I really don't know what those fillers were, but I would suspect that one of them might be ligero leaf, which accounts for the rather robust flavor of these sticks. The Macanudo Ascot looked like a miniature version of one of Macanudo's Churchill style cigars, right down to the green, gold and white label. I would characterize this cigar as being rather full-bodied. My preference is for a medium-bodied cigar, but I was able to tolerate this one pretty well because of its size, and the fact that it only took about 15 minutes to smoke. If this cigar was in a Toro version or a Churchill size, my socks would have been blown off well before the finish, and I would have been more than a little green around the gills. The Macanudo Ascot was strong, but I handled it well, for the reasons I've stated. As you might expect from a stronger cigar, I detected flavors of roasted coffee and dark chocolate. These flavors were presented rather well and balanced out nicely, and the finish reminded me of roasted nuts. There was no unpleasant aftertaste that I commonly associate with stronger cigars, and the overall taste and aroma passed the test. The burn was another matter--even though it was even, I had to relight every one of these cigars about halfway through the smoke. The draw left a lot to be desired, and that probably caused the problem, but the small ring size may have contributed also. So I guess I'm a little conflicted on the Macanudo Ascot--the flavor and aroma was fine, but relighting was a major issue. I probably won't buy these again, but the idea of a quick smoke intrigues me, so I'll probably cast about for some other brands in a cigarillo size. Thanks for reading.
Sanakin on 06/05/15
I have yet to have a "good" Macanudo. Nothing but brand hype unfortunately. This cigar is no different. I got it from my local BnM and let it rest in my humidor for 2 weeks. Burn was wonky. Flavor was just leather. Zero complexity. It just wasn't worth the price point.
Jon on 07/21/15
Way too mild for me..... I'm used to medium to full cigars but really liked The Ashton 898 so figured I'd give this a try but that mild cigar had so much more flavor and creaminess than the macanudo does , it kinda just tasted like a dry grass flavor which wasn't good
