Good value, but not a CAO

Pizen on 06/10/15

Decent value but not quite comparable to a CAO Maduro. My order was inconsistent in terms of flavor; the draw was generally good.

Good value

I am just finishing a bundle of 20, which I try to make last a year. These cigars burn evenly and provide great flavor. They are an excellent value.

Boy was I surprised. Great rich flavor, even steady burn, nice smoke. No complaints. Best deal I've found at JD so far.

JR CAO Maduro Alternative

DawgFan on 07/12/15

A fairly consistent cigar. Flavor was average to good. It wasn't comparable to a CAO Maduro, but it certainly was a lot cheaper.

hmm...

johnjohnjohn on 06/15/15

An ugly cigar that was rolled by a beginner. Ash falls off like a dust storm. Re-lights out the wazoo. The taste/flavor is not bad. All in all this cigar looks and tastes like a Consuegra reject.

Just me

Bigdant on 06/14/15

This was a long easy draw cigar. A great morning or afternoon smoke. I bought a bundle and let it age for 6 months. Well worth the wait!

Good buy

JacksonW on 11/07/15

Have always smoked the Alternates as my "busy" cigars. Working around the yard, or on a project. With the cold weather coming, this shorter cigar fit the bill.

Deliciously Done!

matt.thomas88@yahoo.com on 09/07/15

Great stick for the money! Not quite the CAO Madura, but pretty damn close. The overall flavor was great and the wrap was perfect! The is my second box of Alternatives and I have yet to be disappointed.

CAO alternative by JR

pm93513 on 09/26/15

This is a good smoke. Has nice draw, and good flavor. It needs to be in a good humidor for a week to come up to best taste. Good cigar, especially for the price.

Really nice cigar for the budget price. The burn and draw are consistent throughout. Full of flavor.

Try elsewhere

Greg T. on 11/22/15

I'm not impressed with this cigar. The taste is a little acrid. Construction is about what you would expect so neither great nor terrible. Overall, at a $40 price point, I cannot recommend this cigar. For the same money there are better smokes out there. In fact, I enjoyed the Nica-Romas much more than these sticks which, at the time, were half the price for twice the quantity.
