out of the ten or so that I have smoked, there hasn't been a dog in the bunch. I bought mine years ago with the initial release, and they got better with time, losing some of the strength, but not the aroma. Maybe not a bargain at six bucks each, but if price isn't an object, they're worth trying.
Absolutely "AWESOME"!!!! Smoke

Wow this little stogie is packed with some great tasting smoke I just love these and if you haven't tried them I promise you won't be disappointed and you will be peeling off the band and pinching this little stick to the last puff for sure ...don't burn your lips just fire up another one ...I will always have these in the box for sure ..thanks hoyo for an awsome smoke

This is truly one of the better cigars to bear the name Hoyo De Monterrey made either in or outside of Cuba. This Sumatra wrapper with a Spanish cedar sleeve is a perfect medium to full bodied cigar. The rich smell of cedar and perfectly blended aged tobacco is first thing you notice. Secondly is the dark cocoa color of the silky smooth oily wrapper. Whether the first stick or number 378 like me, you'll notice flavors of coffee, Spanish cedar, leather and dark chocolate. It also it burns evenly, has a nice draw, obviously well rolled and consistent from box to box. The price is so economical it makes it a perfect go to cigar at any time of day. It's appearance makes it look impressive and it's flavor will keep you coming back for whether you're a newbie or you've been smoking like me 25+ years or more this is a winner. Happy smoking and God bless you
Ok if you like'm strong

Good cigar, the flavor just was not my style. I prefer a mild smoke and this was more a hardy, strong Not something I would smoke on a regular basis. Good draw and construction. Just not a "WoW" for me

Did a similar review for the longer sized version of the same cigar. Again, highly recommended, shorter is better if you don't have too much time to kick back and relax obviously. But one note I forgot to mention is if you're going to age these, take the cedar sleeves off to prevent mold.

This cigar is a medium bodied cigar. Flavor notes: woody and cedary. ½ way into the cigar flavor notes of tea which accompanies toasty flavors and a leathery finish. Very good cigar that burned even.
By far the best sumatra ive ever had.

If upu haven't tried the excalibur line this should be your first one! The camaroon is good thr dark knight is wonderful but this bad boy is thr most flavorful of them all. Drink the right thick smoke in on every draw and bask in its beauty.

As authentically Cuban as you can possible get without breaking the law! Yes, the modern day Hoyo de Monterrey that you know and love is cultivated and rolled in Honduras but, did you know, the seeds used to make this iconic marquee brand were smuggled in a diplomatic pouch from Cuba to the fields in which they currently reside? True story! Available here is the Hoyo de Monterrey Dark Sumatra, with the renowned blend of long fillers, and a naturally darkened wrapper that shines like the finest obsidian at 25% off of MSRP.

A very full flavor Hoya de Monterrey with a datker oily wrapper that has full expresso and cedar notes that draw very well through the entire smoke . My taste buds were alive with every draw of this full flavor of expresso till the very end !
A great mild and mellow cigar!

Not a strong cigar and very little spice but man a mellow and pleasing smoke! First light and you get a very nice coffee and chocolate creaminess that is very mild and pleasant. The ash on this guy is impressive, hangs on straight and long. Second half you get a little spice and the chocolate fades a bit and the coffee and maybe a touch of cedar gently entertain all the way to the end and you can smoke this one to a nub and be pleased.
