JR making it right!
John Morris on 06/05/16
I bought a box of Cohiba roboustos and received them within two days. I put them in my humidor where I planned on leaving them for two months. Well, I was too excited and after only three days I tore the cellophane off and cut one and started to smoke the draw was extremely tight and thought I didn't cut the cap off. To my surprise I did cut the cap, it was just the foot was solid as rock and looked and felt like cork, all the cigars were this way. I had a horrible feeling go over my entire body because I never dealt with a large tobacco company online and the money I shelled out for these I was worried things weren't going to go well when I called JR! I do shift work and was up all night thinking of the money I wasted and waiting for JR to open, so I could call. I called right when they opened and I apologize, I forget the thoughtful lady I spoke with, but the call took all of 5 minutes, she said we will send you another box and you will send your box back to us. In two days ups delivered another and I quickly opened it, it was 11am on a Saturday, not early enough for a smoke, but again "no discipline". I ripped it open, cut, and smoked! THESE CIGARS WERE PERFECT! Thanks JR for making it right and keeping a customer for life!

Though draw is always smooth, the burn and even the construction seem to be lacking for such a well known brand. Flavor is mellow and rich, without being overwhelming, however consistency seems to be a downfall the past few years.

This is a solid smoke. The draw is a little tight, The flavors are bold but not overpowering. The leather notes stay pretty pronounced throughout, but they are punctuated with notes of cedar and pepper, with the spice growing more pronounced on the finish. The ash was good and tight and the burn was even.
A very nice change from the Cohiba Cuban

I have been used to and am a great fan of all Cuban Cohibas. My friend and also a store owner asked me to try this Dominican version. I found it to be a pleasant change and the flavors the construction of the consistency did not differ much from an actual Cuban Cohiba. After I finish the cigar I definitely invested in a couple of more to keep in my humidor to age for a while to see if it gets even better.

It was a good smoke but for the price of a good cigar I thought it was way too much for what you get. The flavors are just okay the construction was fine with nice thick smoke and held the ash, but again it's an overpriced cigar. Paying for the name mostly on the cigar.

These have a Cameroon wrapper on them (which I am not a huge fan of) but there are not overly peppery. The wrapper coupled with the Dominican tobacco gives the cigar lots of complexity. This cigar is one of my favorites. They are pricey but you can smoke them to the very end. And by that I mean till your fingers burn! Really great cigar.
Nice and Easy

Wow. Incredible cigar. Now I took my time cutting and lighting the cigar ever so slightly with my matches. It is certainly a cigar that deserves such time an effort. I am only a few puffs in but I expected somewhat strong notes of pepper and spice. I experienced quite the opposite - hints of cocoa and light earth. Smooth draw thus far. Being a robusto, the transition between the leaves is early yet subtle. I will not continue on from here for the sake of the length of the review, but I expect much great things from the rest of the cigar.
