Double Chateau · 6.75 × 50 AFDC5

(49 Reviews) | Write a review

Arturo Fuente Double Chateau has a silky light brown Connecticut shade wrapper, and aged Dominican filler tobaccos from the legendary Fuente farm. Already rich nutty, and smooth, the aromatic cedar sleeve covering this cigar, makes them even more mellow and delicious.  Packaged in a pack of 5 cigars.

Fuente double Chateau

JSJ on 07/07/15

I really enjoy the Fuente Double Chateau. This is my daily go to Cigar for consistency, flavor and overall ease of enjoying a quality cigar for a very reasonable price. I have not been disappointed by the Fuente Double Chateau. Enjoy.

A Fuente is a treat

Run4fun on 08/20/15

If your looking for a mild to medium cigar with great taste, this is your baby. Great draw and very even burn. Excellent cigar for the price. Hard to beat. Highly recommend.

Outstanding quality and value.

Knicholls on 06/21/15

An incredible value that's been consistent since I discovered these in the mid 90's. The flavor is smooth and mellow, with a nutty finish, and you can make it to the ring before the smoke gets too toasty. First timers and people upgrading from gas station cigars will be ruined for anything else after a few minutes. Light enough to enjoy after dinner, but satisfying anytime. The long length and burn time is really the only thing preventing this from being a daily go-to.

Used to be good

Doug on 05/07/15

Bitter, bitter, bitter. Used to be good before Cigar Aficionado came out and increased demand which meant manufactures cheapened the product to keep up production. I switched to JR Ultimates which were GREAT for 8 years, now they are terrible. Switched back to Fuente and for the first year fine, since late 2014 TERRIBLE. Just send back two boxes. Also, wrapper comes off almost every cigar. Inconsistent and riding on their reputation, don't waste your money.

My favorite cigar and it doesn't cost a ton. These just get better the longer you smoke them.

NICE MILD CIGAR

vinoboss on 07/22/15

Nice cigar, but it burns a bit off center. Had to keep relighting but it was a humid day on the golf course, so that might explain it.

D- chateau

Beach bum on 06/14/15

Decent smoke- sometimes packing inconsistent - too tight, then too loose... But I still buy them.. For about $5 a pop they can't be beat!

Inconsistant

TimothyD on 08/19/15

I am a Fuente fan, however this cigar is inconsistant. I have found the connecticut wrapper to vary in flavors -- The darker wrapper being a little to bitter but when the connecticut wrapper is a bit blonder in color it tastes perfect.

Rivals Harrods best Cubans

English Dave on 09/29/15

Wonderful..as I puff on-and-off on a couple during my retired days. IMHO as good as v. expensive Cubans I used to buy in London on business trips about 20 years ago....and still much less expensive

Poor Quality -

Gibby on 08/04/15

Burns very hot. I have had several in the box that have totally unraveled, I like to smoke my cigars to the end and when you take the band off - the the band is glued to the wrapper - I will not buy any more Fuentes

Auturo, Auturo, Auturo..

An old friiend of Lew's on 08/17/15

Not pretty looking, not well constructed, very lite to the feel, but did smoke ok. This used t be a great smoke but high production , I guess, has brought it down. Maybe it was just a bad 5 pack I received. But I purchased 2 sun grown from a local smoke shop and they were excellant . You decide.

Amazing, but its fraternal twin is better.

Great, smooth, nutty aroma cigar. This is very mild for my taste and I prefer the sun grown version of this cigar!

No luck buying a box

Ed 16 July 2015 on 07/16/15

Previously bought 5-packs of Double Chateau and really enjoyed. Purchased a box of 20, thinking original packaging would only improve quality of the cigars. Unfortunately, only one descent burning cigar of the first 8 (so far). A lot of air on the draw, wrapper burned unevenly, and difficult to stay lit. Maybe just a bad batch.

Good Value but poor draw/burn.

Jim from Burlington on 03/21/16

A very fine tasting cigar that I find very consistent for taste....and a great value when purchased by the box. However, the rolling/packing has always(25 years I have smoked these on an off) been very inconsistent or weak at best. They burn very irregularly(one side much faster than the other) making them quite a challenge to manage, constantly re-lighting one side or the other.

Great Cigar Maker=Great Cigar

The Colonel on 03/17/16

I have been smoking cigars for a long time and tried different brands and makers. Arturo Fuente is my choice of maker; Double Chateau is my choice of brand. I prefer the Natural but have enjoyed the Sun Grown on many occasions. They are both very easy to draw and the Sun Grown has a spicy flavor to it. I enjoy it with a good Spanish Brandy or a good Kentucky Bourbon with company or by myself.

Mild to Medium

Klayrik on 07/05/15

Great Mild to Medium cigar. The cedar wrapping adds to the complexity of the flavor. I would rate this cigar higher, but it burns inconsistently. I often have to re-light one side as it burns unevenly. Even with that draw-back, still a great cigar for the price.

Ahh Fuente after dinner what could be better

Cigar medic on 02/02/16

Had these as an after dinner smoke for almost a month straight and they were fabulous. They happened to be the hous cigar at a hotel I was staying at outside the us and you could light up right in the dining room. Great flavor and all the trimmings one expects from Fuente. But this cigar

This was my go to cigar until I started smoking AVO #2. I may consider going back to it based on AVO prices going up so high and AVO Maduro #2 no longer being made.

My favorite cigar for about 20 years. Even when I vacation in Caribbean every year when they push Cubans, I take 1 or 2 boxes of these with me to Sint Maarten.
