Weekly Cigar Roundup: Run, Nick! Run!

November 12, 2019

On this week’s episode of Weekly Cigar Roundup, Nick breaks down the cigars he smoked throughout the week while Anthony explains to us the meaning of some of Nuevo and Ligero.

Nick started off the week by enjoying a Juarez by Crowned Heads. The Juarez is cloaked in a Mexican San Andres Wrapper, that will take over your palate with rich flavors of chocolate, black pepper, and oak, all tied together with an overall creaminess. Juarez by Crowned Heads is available in three different sizes that come in a box of 20.

On Tuesday, Nick smoked the second edition of Rocky Patel’s A.L.R., also known as “Aged, Limited, Rare”. The A.L.R. Second Edition by Rocky Patel is a box-pressed beauty that is covered in an oily Mexican San Andres Wrapper, with a binder and filler from Nicaragua. Flavor notes that flow throughout the A.L.R. is earth, wood, nuts, espresso, and black cherry. The A.L.R. is also available in three different sizes that come in a box of 20.

Hump day came and went, but Nick was able to kick back and have the La Flor Dominicana Ligero Lancero! Hailing from the Dominican Republic, the La Flor Dominicana Ligero Lancero has flavor notes of espresso, earth, spice, oak, and leather. Cloaked in an Ecuador Sumatra wrapper, the La Flor Dominicana Ligero Lancero is a 9×47 stick that is worth having any time of day.

Nick left an epic cigar for Thursday’s smoke. He ended up going with Dawn of Destiny by Archetype Cigars. With a wrapper from Ecuador and binder and fillers from Nicaragua, Dawn of Destiny is full of smooth flavor notes such as cocoa, sweet cream, and cedar. Try the Dawn of Destiny by Archetype now!

Fridays smoke was Macanudo Heritage Nuevo, that will be hitting the JR Cigars website very soon! On Saturday, Nick smoked Alec & Bradley’s Gatekeeper. The Gatekeeper is a collaboration between Alec and Bradley Rubin and EP Carrillo. The Gatekeeper was rolled at EP’s factory and exuberates full flavors of cashews, cedar, cocoa, and leather.

To wrap up a very hectic week, Nick enjoyed the RoMa Craft Baka. This Baka Bantu may be small in size but is super rich in flavor. Toast, Nuts, and Sweet Cream are just some flavor notes that flow throughout the RoMa Craft Baka. With a Cameroon Wrapper, make sure to pick up the Baka by RoMa Craft today at JR Cigars.
