Weekly Cigar Roundup: King of all Honduran Things

October 15, 2019

In this week’s episode of Weekly Cigar Roundup, Nick shares with us what he smoked while dealing with the stresses of buying a brand new car.

On Monday, Nick smoked the Undercrown Shady. This was a collaboration between Drew Estate and hip hop star Eminem. Only released in Detroit a couple of years ago, the Undercrown Shady has finally hit the shelves. With a unique Belicoso box-pressed size, the Undercrown Shady has the typical blends that are showcased in all of the other Undercrown cigars. Some flavor notes you’ll taste while smoking the Undercrown Shady are Coffee, Dark Chocolate, and Black Pepper. Aficionados and beginners alike will bask in the glorious, robust finish.

As for Tuesday, Nick decided to take a walk on the wild side by lighting up Oscar Valladares Wild Hunter. Along with the Super Fly, Oscar Valladares came out with the Wild Hunter after going to cigar events and shows only to discover that most of his smokers are in fact Hunters. So Oscar wanted to dedicate a line under his brand to all the Hunters that enjoy cigar smoking. With a Wrapper, Binder, and Filler from Honduras, the Oscar Valladares Wild Hunter exhibits an array of rich, bold flavors such as Earth, Leather, Nuts, and Sweet Spice that come in a box of 20, in a neat looking camouflage box.

Hump Day was a special day for Nick. On Wednesday, Nick smoked the Alma del Fuego by Plasencia. Plasencia Alma del Fuego cigars pay tribute to the tobaccos from Ometepe, a fertile Island between two volcanic mountains that is famed for producing the blackest and richest soils in the country. The breathtaking wrapper and binder, and fillers make up this Nicaraguan puro, that has flavor notes of earth, leather, and dark roast coffee. The Plasencia Alma del Fuego is available in a box of 10 and a box of 20.

On Thursday, Nick smoked the Eiroa Jamastran. This medium to full-bodied cigar has top-notch tobaccos packed in this 5 x 50 stick. Grown on the Eiroa family farm in Honduras, this dark and spicy stick has a plethora of flavor notes that will have your mouth watering. Leather, White Pepper, Roasted Nuts, and Coffee are all the notes that make up the Eiroa Jamastran. This Honduran puro also comes in a uniquely shaped cigar box that adds to cigars appeal.

Nick celebrated the week ending in only one way he can! Triqui Traca style! On Friday, Nick smoked the Mi Querida Triqui Traca from Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust Cigars. With top-notch construction and a phenomenal burn, the highly anticipated Mi Querida Triqui Traca is the first broadleaf cigar under the Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust Cigar name. It’s rich, powerful and flavorful that is affordable and looks superb.

On Saturday, Nick enjoyed the beautiful weather outside and smoked the Montecristo Platinum Series. The Montecristo Platinum Series cigar was introduced In 2002, in response to cigar connoisseur’s growing desire for a more full-flavored cigar. Crafted with a select San Andrés Cubano wrapper grown in the legendary San Andres Valley, along with a Dominican binder and a special blend of Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Peruvian long-filler tobaccos, these beautiful cigars offer a rich, smooth smoke.

Last but not least, Sunday was a Crowned Heads day for Nick. He smoked the Las Calaveras 2019 Limited Edition by Crowned Heads. This stunning, dark and oily 5 x 50 Robusto is one of the popular lines made by Jon Huber of Crowned Heads. Filled with the best Nicaraguan binder and long-fillers, while cloaked in an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper, the Las Calaveras 2019 Limited Edition has you’ll enjoy complex flavor notes of earth, chocolate, cinnamon, baking spices, and cream, destined to pair perfectly with a cup of coffee.
