Top 5 Cigars to Age in 2021
The best way to describe aging cigars is like letting a tender piece of meat marinating in your favorite sauce. The longer it sits, the more the flavors settle down and mellow it gets. If you’re looking for high impact and intense flavor notes, then aging cigars most likely will not be for you. However, if you get a cigar that just hits the market, then you may want it to sit in your humidor for three to six months.
I’ve had unreal experiences where I’ve smoked a brand-new cigar and it was just extremely intense and harsh at first for me. When I let it settle down and age for a few months, I went back to smoke it and couldn’t get enough of it. The aging process worked well for me in this situation.
With all of that being said, we picked out five cigars that are better with age for this week’s top five list. We have personally experienced these cigars with some time and aging and we can attest that these smokes are better if they are aged! Here are the Top 5 Cigars to Age in 2021. Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua
Although this is a new cigar, we received some pre-releases two months before the Montecristo 1935 Anniversary of Nicaragua hit the shelves. When we first smoked it the first inch or so was a bit harsh. So, we let it sit for two months, smoked it again, and the taste and strength of the cigar were the same throughout the entirety of the cigar.
Created by AJ Fernandez, Rafael Nodal, and the Grupo de Maestros, the Montecristo 1935 Aniversary Nicaragua was created to celebrate the monumental success Montecristo has had in the cigar business the last 85 years. This Nicaraguan puro is a medium to full-bodied smoke with delicious flavor notes that flow throughout. Some notes you’ll detect are wood, coffee, cinnamon earth, and spice.
