JR Quick Tip: The Punch

August 11, 2015

Hi, I’m Nick from JR Cigar, and it’s time for another quick tip.

Today, we’re going to show you how to punch your cigar. This is your basic cigar punch. Give it a nice twist, sharp cylindrical tube pops out. What this is going to do is it’s actually going to punch a circular hole in the back of your cigar. I prefer to use a punch on a bigger ring gauge because sometimes a big cutter won’t fit or it will mangle it. This gives it a nice central draw and you don’t get as much stuff in your mouth.

Let’s show you a little example. I got my bigger ring gauge here. I got my nice cigar punch ready to go. You just want to basically place it dead center, just right there, and start giving it a few little turns. There you go. And you’re going to pop it right out. And then the great part about these, especially a nice punch like this, is you give it a twist back, put it back in order, and the tobacco falls out, so it’s self-cleaning. Self-cleaning.

Guys, thanks for watching, and join us next time for another JR Cigar quick tip.
