JR Quick Tip: How to Clean a Pipe

September 2, 2015

  1. Remove the stem and filter from your pipe, it should pull right out.  If it is one piece, DO NOT try and remove the stem.
  2. Dip your pipe cleaner in a small amount of rubbing alcohol
  3. Insert the pipe cleaner through the mouth piece several times to remove and build up
  4. Then, insert the pipe cleaner in the hole on the bowl of your pipe.
  5. Use the scraper tool to chip away any residue in the bowl itself
  6. Reinsert the stem and filter to the bowl

Thanks for the reminder on cleaning my pipes but I have a problem. I have been retired for 9 years and going through my tools I found an unused pipe. The filter is stuck. It feels like it has been glued in the stem of the pipe. Any suggestions on how to remove it?
    Thanks
    Bob
