The Delicious My Father Flor de Las Antillas Toro

December 18, 2015

It all began in a very small cigar factory in Little Havana in 2003, where Jose Pepin Garcia and family along with a handful of skilled rollers sold premium smokes to the local clientele. At the time, Jose could not have imagined that his love and passion for cigars would help him to build one of the most renowned companies in the industry. Throughout the remainder of the decade- and up until today, the Garcia name has become synonymous with highly rated and top-quality brands.

The culmination of his hard work and dedication reached its pinnacle in 2012, when the My Father Flor de Las Antillas Toro, a blend he created with his son Jaime, was gifted the prestigious Best Cigar of the Year Award by Cigar Aficionado.

Created as a tribute to “Old Cuba”, this box pressed 6 × 52 scored an impressive 96 points out of 100, a rating usually reserved for the rarest and best Genuine Cubano’s sold in the world today. Only a handful of legendary brands have scored higher since this famous magazine launched their first issue in in the fall of 1992.

If I had to sum up what makes this cigar so special in just one word, it would be – s-m-o-o-o-th!!! However, there is much more to this fantastic smoke, so let’s take a closer look.

Visually, this cigar looks stunning with its perfectly box pressed shape, oily sun grown wrapper sporting two artistic bands, and a maroon ribbon at the foot. The pre-light aroma gives off a slightly sweet and earthy character that will make your mouth water.

Upon lighting, the taste is straightforward and medium-bodied in strength with delicious nutmeg, cedar, savory spice, and espresso notes taking center stage.

These yummy core flavors remain consistent until the last portion where heartier notes of earth and leather join the mix. All while remaining- as I mentioned earlier – incredibly – s-m-o-o-o-th!!!

My Father Flor de Las Antillas Toro comes to you packaged in stunning 25-count boxes with the company’s Old Havana Logo emblazoned on the top.

If you haven’t tasted these award-winners by My Father, I highly recommend that you do, because you don’t know what you’re missing!
