Romeo y Julieta Cigars to Enjoy on Singles’ Day

While in the US, the concept of Singles Day might seem odd, in China it is a highly popular shopping day. November 11th is a day of celebration of people taking pride in being single.  While I am not proud of being single, I don’t necessarily mind it.  That being said, ladies feel free to message me on Instagram.

Seeing the clever wordplay, the team here at JR decided to put together a special, one day only sale. On November 11th, if you buy five of our selected singles, we will give you the sixth one free.  This includes some heavy hitters from the legendary Romeo y Julieta portfolio. Let’s look at some of the Romeos that will be eligible in this great deal.

Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real Lonsdale

The Romeo y Julieta Reserva Real is a top-notch mellow smoke.  It is handcrafted in the Dominican Republic using only the finest aged tobaccos available.  It consists of Dominican and Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos, along with a stunning Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper.

Notes of creamy coffee, nuts, and cedar combine to give you a smooth and flavorful cigar experience.  The Lonsdale size is one of the many cigars included in our Singles Day event and that’s the perfect size for this blend.

By having a thinner ring gauge and a longer length, you can optimize the flavor of the cigar.  This is due to the larger ratio of wrapper to filler tobaccos, giving you more flavor and great construction.

Romeo y Julieta Reserve Robusto

The Romeo y Julieta Reserve is a powerful, complex and high octane offering from the Romeo brand.  It was one of the first, fuller-bodied cigars to be made under the Romeo flag and to this day remains a highly popular smoke.

Romeo y Julieta Reserve Belicoso

The Romeo Reserve combines the depth and spice of Nicaragua with the rich and earthy notes of Honduras.  It uses a blend of aged Honduran and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos as well as a flawless Nicaraguan wrapper.

The Reserve has spice, pepper, leather, and earth as well and has a zesty and enticing aroma.  For Singles day, you’ll be able to pick from the short and stout Robusto or the elegant Belicoso.

Romeo y Julieta Vintage IV

For more than 20 years, the Romeo Vintage has been a staple of the cigar industry.  It is among the few mellow bodied cigars that are well known for its rich and complex flavor.  This is due to the age of the tobacco, which has been left to sit longer than your average premium cigar.

The Romeo Vintage uses aged Dominican long-filler tobaccos, which gives it a nutty and smooth center.  Its Mexican binder adds in a touch of richness and coffee taste, which adds to the overall complexity.  The finishing touch is a light and creamy Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, which offers up notes of latte coffee, cream, vanilla, and cedar.

The Vintage IV is the size you’ll be able to choose from for Singles Day. Similar to the Reserva Real Lonsdale, the IV has a much thinner ring gauge than normal, giving you a more complicated flavor profile.

Romeo y Julieta 1875 Gran Toro

The Romeo y Julieta 1875 is among the most well-known and best-selling cigars in the country.  It is a great combination of smoother yet flavorful and the price has always been solid.  When I worked in one of our flagship brick and mortar locations, I recommend Romeo 1875 more than any other cigar.

Its popularity is due to several factors.  Firstly, it uses a unique combination of flavorful tobaccos.  It has a blend of Dominican and Brazilian filler tobaccos, giving it notes of nuts, spice, and black pepper.  Its Indonesian Java wrapper will give you notes of coffee, espresso, and a solid sweet spice at the end.

Secondly, it has always had a very competitive price point.  In its price bracket, it is one of the best cigars available and has been for years.  The gran toro size is available on Singles’ Day and for those of you who love a thicker toro, this is a great choice.
