Top Tier $3 To Add to Your Humidor

I’ll be the first to admit that I am a cigar snob.  I usually go for the top shelf, limited edition, or craft series of a cigar.  However, the majority of cigar smokers are not snobs; they just enjoy a good smoke, for a good price.  In fact, some of the best-selling cigars in the industry aren’t the super high end, $30 apiece cigars, but are more affordable, bang for your buck style smokes.

So, if you are in the market for a great smoke at an even better price, you have plenty of options. Today, we are going to look at some top-rated cigars under $10.  For a more extensive list, feel free to check out the section on the website dedicated to $3 cigars right here.

Slaughterhouse Bundles

Slaughterhouse is one of our newest, private label bundle projects.  This brand isn’t crafted by some cheap, unheard of factory or in some guys garage.  They are hand-rolled for us by the legendary Ventura Cigar company, the same folks behind the highly-rated Archetype line, that’s even made its way to the Top 25 Cigars of the year.

The Slaughterhouse come in bundles of 10 and a variety of sizes, my favorite being the Churchill.  The cigar is crafted with a blend of long-filler and mixed filler tobaccos to give you a rich, quality flavor but not at a ridiculous price.  It’s Mexican Sumatra wrapper adds in touches of cocoa and zest, while its oily Dominican wrapper will add in just a dash of nuts and pepper.  These amazing smokes can be yours for just under $3 apiece.

La Finca

La Finca has long been one of our best-selling products.  For years, they have been made at the legendary NACSA factory, one of the largest in Nicaragua.  While for many years, they were only known for their bundle projects, recently they have made their way into the premium boutique sector of the industry, making several high-end cigars for Steve Saka including Mi Querida.

They have the pedigree and the resources to make incredible cigars, including the La Finca.  If you are looking to stock up, and do it in style, look to the La Finca Ammo Box.  This rich, Nicaraguan smoke uses an array of filler tobaccos and an Ecuadorian wrapper for a ton of flavor.  Ninety-one cigars are packed fresh into a military-style ammo box.  For under $130, you are getting over 90 top-notch cigars that are sure to help you make it through the rest of the summer.

Tatuaje Tattoo Needles

For those of you wondering, yes there is a Tatuaje on this list.  One of the first modern, boutique companies, Tatuaje, is well known for their high-quality smokes and their annual, limited editions.  However, the Tattoo Needle is a short quick smoke that is sure to please your palate and your wallet.

This might be short, coming in at 4.5 X 38, but they use aged Nicaraguan filler and binder tobaccos for a smooth yet flavorful core.  The cigars are then wrapped in a stunning Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, offering up a great amount of spice and zest.

Unlike the other cigars on this list, the Tattoo Needle isn’t packed into a bundle. Instead, you get 50 of these cigars, broken up in 10 different packs of 5.  At $150 for 50 of them, you won’t find a better boutique-style cigar for the price.

Cusano CC

Here we have another budget-friendly cigar that is made by a high-end company.  Although it is not on the packaging, the Cusano CC bundles are made by the same folks responsible for Davidoff, Camacho, and AVO.

This is a company that couldn’t make a lousy cigar if they tried.  When they set out to make a budget, bundle product, we knew it was going to be of higher quality and a big seller; we were not wrong.

Cusano CC, which stands for Cusano Cuban, is one of the various cigars under the Cusano name.  It is hand-rolled using aged Dominican filler tobaccos, along with a rich Ecuadorian Sun Grown wrapper.  These cigars were crafted to give you that old world Cuban flavor and are some of the best cigars under $10.

Quorum Maduro

Every time I am asked what my favorite bundle cigar is, I always give two answers.  There is the JR Edicion Limitada, an old favorite from my store days, and the newer Quorum line.  These smokes were created by legendary manufacturer J.C. Newman, the minds behind the luxurious Diamond Crown line.  The Quorum was one of the first cigars to come out of the Newman families brand new Nicaraguan factory, just a few years ago.

The Quorum Maduro is a personal favorite, for the obvious reason that I am a fan of Maduro wrapped smokes.  It uses a slightly dark and rich Ecuadorian wrapper, but it’s the Connecticut broadleaf binder that adds in touches of dark chocolate, cocoa, and a slight sweetness that makes this the complete package.
