Top 5 My Father Factory Cigars 2022

If you’ve ever enjoyed a cigar from Tatuaje, Crowned Heads, or Don Pepin™, then you’ve smoked a cigar that was made with excellence. That excellence comes from the hardworking hands and minds of the employees over at My Father Cigar Factory™, located in Miami, Florida. Founder, Jose Pepin Garcia™ continuously humbles himself by reflecting on where he came from to where he is now.

Before arriving at Little Havana in 2003, Jose Pepin Garcia™ was born and raised in Cuba where he developed a love of cigars at the age of eleven! Jose was inspired by his family who grew tobacco leaves all throughout their family’s farm. Although the My Father™ headquarters reside in Florida, in 2009 opened the “Garcia Family Industrial Park” in Esteli, Nicaragua where all their product has been manufactured since its grand opening.

So to show some love to one of the most popular factories in the industry, we’ve compiled some of our favorite cigars to come from the My Father Factory™. The list was near impossible to narrow down. For more options on My Father cigars, check out our My Father™ Buying Guide right here. Without further ado, here are our Top 5 cigars made at My Father Factory™.

La Aroma de Cuba Pasion

Wrapper: Nicaragua

Binder: Nicaragua

Filler: Nicaragua

Strength: Medium-Full

Smoke Time: 95 minutes

Size: 6 x 52

Landing number three on the Top 5 Cigars made at the My Father Factory ™ is a new cigar that came out earlier this year from La Aroma de Cuba. The Pasion in the 6 x 52 “Marvelouso” size is manufactured by Ashton, yet the award-winning father-and-son cigarmakers Jose ‘Pepin’ Garcia and Jaime Garcia were the magicians behind the making of this delicious smoke.

Sometimes when brands design their cigar band to “harken back” to olden times, it gets a bit repetitive. But this gorgeous light green and gold band perfectly expresses what the Pasion is all about.

The Pasion isn’t the only product of La Aroma de Cuba to be made by the My Father ™ family and Factory. This medium to full-bodied Nicaraguan puro showcases a stunning Shade Grown wrapper from the celebrated fields of Central Nicaragua. Top 5 My Father Factory Cigars 2021

Las Calaveras 2020

Our first cigar on our list that hails from the My Father Factory™ is the special, limited edition cigar Las Calaveras from Crowned Heads. Every year, Crowned Heads releases this commemorative cigar line to honor the ones that have gone too soon.

Significantly reducing the production for the 2020 release, Crowned Heads released only 1,000 boxes of each size and only 500 samplers. Each year the blend for the Las Calaveras is slightly different by featuring different vintage tobaccos that make up the wrapper.

This year, the Las Calaveras 2020 has an Ecuador Habano wrapper, with the same Nicaraguan tobaccos that make up the binder and filler. Some flavor notes you may detect while smoking Las Calaveras 2020 are wood, dark chocolate, earth, and roasted nuts.

As stated previously, an abundance of cigars under Crowned Heads are blended at the My Father Factory™, but the Las Calaveras is the one to look out for and get your hands on any chance you get.

L’atelier Extension de la Racine

Tatuaje’s founder Pete Johnson and the Garcia Family™ are as close as anyone who isn’t blood-related could be. Pete Johnson was Jose’s first client, and the business relationship has been glorious ever since. Not only did Tatuaje form between the two, but in 2012, the L’Atelier brand was the second collaborative product from Garcia and Johnson.

One of the very first cigars to come out of L’Atelier was the yearly limited production line L’atelier Extension de la Racine. When it comes to the de la Racine, specifically the ER14, its flawless construction on this limited-edition smoke is a testament to Pete Johnson and Jose “Pepin” Garcia’s™ impeccable blending skills.

This medium-bodied smoke is a Nicaraguan puro that uses a Criollo leaf for the wrapper and Sancti Spiritus tobaccos for the binder. Flavor notes you’ll experience while smoking the de La Racine are earth, cashews, pepper, with hints of cinnamon and cocoa. We’re lucky to have Pete Johnson produce a majority of his creations at the My Father Factory™, however, the L’Atelier Extension de la Racine ER 14 is a smoke you need to get your hands on ASAP.

Tatuaje Broadleaf

One of Pete Johnson’s more popular cigars under Tatuaje is the Tatuaje Broadleaf, which is hand-rolled under the careful supervision of Don “Pepin” Garcia™. Released in 2016, the Tatuaje Broadleaf has an array of popular sizes and has the signature oily broadleaf texture we all love.

With a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper and Nicaraguan tobaccos that make up the binder and filler, the Tatuaje Broadleaf K222 is medium to full-bodied smoke that is, unfortunately, a limited edition cigar. As a Tatuaje lover, I should expect the “limited edition” aspect when it comes to his lines. However, I want as much broadleaf in my humidor as I can.

Flavor notes you’ll detect in the Tatuaje Broadleaf are chocolate, leather, oak, spice, and sweet cocoa, that pair perfectly with a root beer.

Blended in Little Havana by Pete Johnson himself, the Tatuaje Broadleaf was made for all you broadleaf lovers out there. So it’s wise that you get your hands on them as fast as you can!

My Father Le Bijou 1922

The My Father Le Bijou 1922™ is the first cigar on our list that is actually a line under the My Father™ brand. Introduced at the annual PCA (formerly known as IPCPR) convention in 2009, Le Bijou 1922 is the second core line from the My Father Factory™, preceded by the original My Father line™.

The Le Bijou 1922 translates to the jewel and the “1922” in the name pays homage to the year Pepin’s Father was born. The Le Bijou™ took the company to a new level and stitched the Garcia family™ name forever in the cigar industry.

Cloaked in a Nicaraguan Habano Oscuro wrapper, all while the filler and binder cigar various aged and vintage Nicaraguan tobaccos that are grown on the Garcia family farm, this full-bodied smoke has a. plethora of delicious flavor notes. Flavor notes you’ll detect while enjoying the Le Bijou 1922™ are salt, chocolate, dried fruit, and leather that would pair nicely with a lemonade!

Personally, I think dedicating anything, let alone a cigar line to one of your true inspirations is one of the greatest gestures a son could pay to a Father he loves and cherishes.
