Top 5 JR Employees Favorite Cigars

Over the past few years, we here at JR have hung out and smoked a handful of good cigars with one another. Whether it’s been on our lunch break or enjoying an after-work cocktail. We’ve gotten together over the course of a few years and really shared some awesome smoking experiences.

Throughout those smoke sessions, we’ve each shared which cigars we don’t necessarily care for, which cigars we smoke on occasion, and the cigars we cannot get enough of. We all have that one cigar that we absolutely need to smoke when it comes across in our humidors.

So, for this week’s Top 5 list, we decided to share with you some of JR Employees’ favorite cigars to smoke. For most of us, this list was extremely hard to narrow down. However, we pulled through and were able to pick out our Top 5.

Without further ado, here are the Top 5 JR Employees Favorite Cigars. Don’t forget to click on the limited-time sampler link below.

Alec & Bradley JR 50th Anniversary Wagyu

First up is a cigar that our very own Nick Libretti cannot get enough of. It came out this year as a part of the JR 50th Anniversary cigar releases from our dear friends Alec and Bradley Rubin. The Rubin brothers who have become an intricate part of their father’s success as of late decided to make something really special for Nick and the JR 50th campaign.

The Alec & Bradley JR 50th Anniversary Wagyu is a cigar that is right up Nick’s alley. Named after the rarest cut of steak, the Wagyu from Alec & Bradley is a 6 x 52 masterfully rolled gem that is absolutely delicious with each and every puff. The one thing that makes the Wagyu so amazing to Nick is how the construction of the smoke makes it feel very filling and meaty, much like its namesake.

Cloaked in a Mexican San Andres wrapper, the Wagyu has a Honduran Habano binder and filler tobaccos that hail from Nicaragua, Honduras, and other disclosed locations not known to the public. Some delicious flavor notes Nick ‘was able to pick up while smoking this medium to full-bodied smoke were wood, cedar, nuts, cocoa, and a hint of toast on the backend.

Available in one size that comes in a box of 10, you can now get the exclusive Alec & Bradley JR 50th today online!

Le Careme by Crowned Heads

Next up is a cigar from our old friend Greg would have on the regular. He initially wanted the Serie E from Crowned Heads, but we didn’t have it in-store at the time we made this list up. So he kept it in the Crowned Heads family and picked a cigar from them he had religiously while he was here. Next up on our Top 5 JR Employee Cigars is the Le Careme by Crowned Heads.

The gorgeous-looking Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper is what immediately attracted Greg to this smoke. But the mixture of the Nicaraguan tobaccos in the filler and the Ecuadorian Sumatra tobaccos that make up the binder is what really took this cigar to the next level for Greg. Some delicious flavor notes Greg detected in this medium-bodied smoke are notes of chocolate, sweet spice, leather, toffee, and caramel.

One more reason as to why Greg loves this smoke, and this may be the main reason, is that the Le Careme pays tribute to Marie Antoine Careme, a pioneer in French cuisine during the 1800s. Greg himself is quite the cook and figured it was fate that brought him and this delicious cigar together. Available in five different sizes that come in a box of 24, you can now grab the Careme by Crowned Heads today on our website.

Southern Draw Rose of Sharon

Next up on our Top 5 JR Employees Favorite Cigars is smoke from a recent familiar face you may have seen on our Long Ash Podcast. SEO Derek hopped on our podcast to discuss the difference between smoking cigars and smoking pipe from tobacco. It was rather educational and you can check out the full episode right here. Although he loves smoking pipe tobacco, some lighter, delicious cigars have made his rotations as of late. Especially the Rose of Sharon Southern Draw Cigars.

The fact that the Rose of Sharon has an Ecuadorian Connecticut Sun-Grown wrapper AND its medium-bodied were the selling points for Derek when he had to pick his favorite smoke as of late. The addition of Nicaraguan tobaccos that make up the binder and filler wasn’t a bad touch to the cigar either.

Some delicious flavor notes Derek pinpointed when he smoked the Rose of Sharon were wood, fresh-cut grass, cashews, caramel, and subtle hints of spice on the backend. Available in seven different sizes that come in a box of 20, you can be like SEO Derek and enjoy this medium-bodied gem that is dedicated to Robert Holt’s wife today online or in-store today.
