The All New Shock and Awe

December 1, 2015

We here at JR Cigar have been beefing up our private labels recently.  We have such great manufacturers as A.J. Fernandez, Altadis, and Drew Estate crafting cigars exclusive to us.  We are very proud to announce another industry giant has joined our cause.  Nestor Plasencia, blender of such cigars as Alec Bradley, Rocky Patel, and Casa Magna, has created a special blend of cigars just for us. These cigars are gigantic in size and even bigger in flavor.

These smokes are all torpedo shaped and none are smaller than a 60 ring gauge.   When looking at these cigars, the first thought that popped into our ever creative, testosterone filled minds was World War II.  Not as big of a leap as you think.  These cigars almost identical to World War II artillery shells.  So we thought why not? With that, we present to you the Shock and Awe.  These big-mouthed beauties may look like weapons of war, but they are truly delightful flavorful cigars.

Although they may look like a gimmick, that could not be further from the truth.  The Shock and Awe are rolled with vintage Nicaraguan Habano filler, and a very rare Habana binder.  The wrapper is even more unique.  It is a dark and oily Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper.    It is a premium full-bodied smoke, with wonderful notes of spice, earth, cedar, and even a hint of espresso.

This big ring gauged beast is available in three different sizes, each one apply named for a different artillery shell.  The smallest one is known as the “Little David” and it is a 5.5 x 60.  The next step up is the “Roaring Meg”, which has the same length but is even thicker, with a 70 ring gauge.  The biggest of these heavy hitters it the “Barracks Buster” with an enormous 80 ring gauge!.

Let’s face it, this is the era of the bigger ring gauge smoke.  However, if you choose a bigger cigar, go for one that is flavorful and built with the quality that only a master like Nestor Plascencia could provide.  Go to JR Cigar right now and enjoy your box of the all new Shock and Awe.
