Born in Havana Cuba and raised in Miami, Erik Espinosa inherited his passion for cigars from his tobacco growing father. He began working in the cigar industry in 1997 and has been involved in almost every facet of production. Responsible for such notable brands as Murcielago, 601 La Bomba and many more released under his own name,  Erik has become one the top cigar makers in the thriving boutique cigar industry.

The two big releases for Eric at this year’s 2018 IPCPR was the unveiling of the limited-edition Espinosa 20th Anniversary cigar and the Las 6 Provincias cigars.

In celebration of his two decades of enormous success creating one great blend after another, the Espinosa 20th Anniversary cigar, available in just one perfectly square-pressed 6 x46 vitola, is a Nicaraguan puro blend deftly rolled with a Habano Rosado wrapper over aged Cuban-seed binder and filler tobaccos. The cigars are presented in handsome 20-count boxes and production is limited to 500 boxes. Expect a full-flavored smoke loaded with hearty, yet smooth notes of white pepper, sweet cocoa, some earthiness, and creamy caramel on the finish.

Las 6 Provincias LHB cigars, the first “Cubanesque” brand under the Espinosa Cigars portfolio, pays homage to the six growing provinces that existed prior to Fidel Castro taking over Cuba and changing the industry into a state-run operation. It comes in one size, a box-pressed cigar measuring 6 inches by 54 ring gauge made in Nicaragua by industry legend A.J. Fernandez. Espinosa is offering the cigar in 10-count boxes, but also created a 300 limited-edition 20-count box variety that is mounted on a hinge and designed to look like a swing. Both boxes are adorned with stunning hand painted artwork reminiscent of happier times in Old Havana.

Medium bodied, the premium handmade Las 6 Provincias LHB cigar displays the rich, nutty, sweet, and spicy flavors that those great old pre-embargo Cubanos were famous for. The construction is pristine, and the sweet smoky aroma provides a tantalizing room note.
