Florida Sun Grown Cigars

Florida Sun Grown cigars are the result of an eight-year project taken on by Jeff Borysiewicz of Florida Sun Grown Farm, and Drew Estate to bring American tobaccos back to the forefront of the premium cigar market. For nearly 175 years Florida had a rich history of growing tobacco, but that all ended around 1977 when tobacco companies began relocating primarily to Central American countries to keep production costs down.

The proprietary binder and filler tobaccos used for this blend were grown at Jeff’s  Florida Sun Grown Farm in Clermont, Florida. He started the project in 2010  by analyzing the temperatures, sunlight, humidity, and climate, that would bring his farm as close as possible to the perfect growing conditions that are found in the famous Pinar del Rio region of Cuba, home to the world’s best Cuban cigars.

Available in a 6 x 52 Toro, a 5x 50 Robusto, and an appropriately named 6 x 60 Sixty, Florida Sun Grown cigars are covered by a  stunning, oily, sun-grown wrapper from Brazil, that surrounds a core of aged binder and filler tobaccos that consists only of these prized Clermont Florida leaves.

A woodsy full-bodied mix of cedar and oak, backed by savory notes of sweet cream, pepper, and earth, is the result of this time consuming and painstaking project.

All this hard work and dedication from Drew Estate and Borysiewicz provides a top-shelf line of handmade premium cigars that will become a proud addition to every well – seasoned aficionados humidor.

Be sure to pick up a box of 20, the next time you buy cigars online from JR, and discover the rebirth of these long-forgotten Florida tobaccos.
