The New J. Fuego Sangre de Toro Cigars

January 21, 2016

Jesus Fuego a fifth generation cigar master comes from a famous family that has been in the business of growing, blending, and rolling cigars in Havana since 1876. the family migrated to Central America in 1995, and in 2006, after years of growing, blending and producing cigars for other companies, Jesus Fuego launched “Tabacos S.A.” with the release of the “J. Fuego” brand with his Natural and Gran Reserva lines in honor of his family as they celebrated 130 years in this industry.

Since then, the company has introduced an array of top-rated cigars, featuring a variety of blends made with tobacco exclusively grown for J. Fuego Cigar Co, and with his extensive cigar knowledge and Cuban heritage, you can rest assure that when this man releases a new blend consumers jump at the opportunity to smoke one. Well, we are happy to say that Jesus Fuego has done it again and launched another gem … so start jumping!

His latest release, the J. Fuego Sangre de Toro Cigar joins the list of his heralded lineup of top-quality boutique cigars. Sangre de Toro translates to “Bull’s Blood”, a good name for this full-bodied Nicaraguan puro. In designing this unique smoke, Jesus chose a blend consisting of aged Nicaraguan Criollo and Corojo fillers, and a Nicaraguan Criollo binder.

For those that always wondered, Criollo and Corojo was one of the original Cuban tobaccos that emerged around the time of Columbus. These ancient seeds are the genetic base seed for both the Criollo 98 and Corojo 99 hybrids found on many of the best cigars today. They both add a distinct and very flavorful pre-embargo Cubano essence to any blend.

Completing this heavenly medium to full body recipe is a gorgeous, oily Nicaraguan Colorado wrapper that displays a dark brown color with a reddish tone. This leaf adds a vibrant earthy character to the blend and is beloved for its amazing taste and warm sweet bouquet.

Pre light inspection shows off a densely packed vitola that is silky smooth to the feel. When sniffing the nose you come away with a strong fragrance of wheat, pepper, and that musty cedar aroma that denotes a cigar that has been very well aged.

Upon lighting, rich, bold notes of spicy pepper, walnut, cedar, dark roast coffee, black cherry and cream are evident and alternate in intensity throughout the length of the smoke. This baby has quite a little bit of a kick to it that sneaks up on you but never overwhelms, and the draw was easy and the ash was sturdy and solid.

J. Fuego Sangre de Toro Cigars are available in four popular sizes, the big, beefy, and bold 6 x 60 Grande, The Originals, a rustic shaped figurado with a classic 5 x 44 length and ring gauge, and the Robusto, and Toro, both fan favorites.

For those of you who like to try before you buy, a J. Fuego Sangre de Toro 8-Cigar Assortment is also available.

Once again, Jesus nailed it, because besides being incredibly delicious, J. Fuego Sangre de Toro Cigars received a well-deserved 90 rating! Therefore, why not taste what all the fuss is about and order yourself a box of this fine boutique handmade today!
