Ramon Allones Heritage- The Revival of a Classic Cuban Cigar!
Ramon Allones premium handmade cigars have a history that dates back to Havana Cuba in 1845. The brand went through numerous ownership changes before the Cifuentes family finally bought it and production was moved to the famous Partagás Factory in Havana, where Ramón Allones cigars are still manufactured to this day.
Fast forward to post embargo America, and you will find another Ramon Allones brand manufactured by General Cigar Company in their renowned factory in Honduras. When this re-invented marque first hit our warehouse shelves a couple of decades ago it was almost impossible to keep in stock due to their outstanding construction, affordable price, and great taste. The brand remains a good seller, but over the course of time, tons of new super premium smokes hit the market and this classic marque took a back seat to many of them until recently when the Ramon Allones Heritage Series was unveiled in 2015 and breathed some new life into this slightly forgotten treasure.
Ramon Allones Heritage makes its home at the renowned Foundry Tobacco Company in the Dominican Republic, which also happens to be a division of General Cigar. These flawlessly constructed smokes draws from its Cuban heritage with an impeccable blending of the finest aged, top-quality tobaccos. Long- filler leaves from three of Nicaragua’s most fertile growing regions are snuggled inside a thick and hearty Nicaraguan binder. An oily Sumatra Oscuro wrapper that is dark chocolate in color, and smooth to the feel adds the final touch to this distinguished recipe.
The Ramon Allones Heritage is a gorgeous looking cigar and the closed foot and pigtail cap look great against the elegant powder blue band. Upon lighting, beautifully rich, warm flavors of warm bread, cream, nutmeg, and zesty spice take hold of the palate and remain steady until the final third when notes of creamy caramel join the mix.
