Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Cigar Review

In celebrating Montecristo’s 85 years in the cigar world, Altadis reached out to brand ambassador Rafael Nodal, their elite Grupo de Maestros, and the famed cigarmaker AJ Fernandez to create this delicious and magical cigar in the Montecristo 1935 Anniversary. Altadis’ vision at the beginning stages of creating this smoke was to capture the Cuban-Esque essence the original Montecristo’s provided and they did just that once the 1935 Anniversary was complete.

Blended by AJ Fernandez at the San Lotano factory, the Montecristo 1935 Anniversary hails from Nicaragua that is cloaked in a dark, oily, and stunning Nicaraguan Habano wrapper, while being bound and filled with Nicaraguan tobaccos from AJ’s farm!

This Nicaraguan Puro is a medium to full-bodied, box-pressed beauty that is packed tight with delicious and complex flavor notes. Some notes you’ll detect while smoking the 1935 Anniversary are wood, cinnamon, earth, coffee, and spice on the backend. A nice glass of red wine would be a perfect drink to compliment this gorgeous looking smoke.

Available in four different sizes (No. 2, Demi, Toro, and Churchill), you can now swing on over to JR’s website today and get yourself a box of the new Montecristo 1935 Anniversary today! If you’d like a more in-depth conversation about this cigar, you can watch Greg and Nick talk about this smoke on last week’s podcast right here. Enjoy!
