Sobremesa Brulee "STFU!" Sampler

In 2019 at the IPCPR Trade Show in Las Vegas, Steve Saka, founder of Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust released the ever so delicious Sobremesa Brulee. We’ve had the pleasure of smoking the Brulee a handful of times and we cannot get enough of it! It has been the talk of the industry since its release. The main point of emphasis is the ongoing debate on whether or not the Sobremesa Brulee is not sweet tipped. Aficionado’s far and wide continuously preached to Saka, the man who created the blend himself, that it is in fact a sweet tipped smoke. So, in typical Steve Saka fashion, he released a five-pack Sobremesa Brulee Toro sampler back in June of this year.

All five cigars in this sampler pack are identical in a 6 x 52 size. The blend using an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper over a Mexican binder and fillers from Nicaragua are all identical as well.  The only difference within the sampler is that there are three different versions of the cigar in this sampler. “Unadulterated” (also known as the normal Brulee), “Sweet Tipped” and “Double Sweet Tipped” are the three different versions featured within this sampler.

The five-pack sampler is titled “Saka’s Taste For U’rself” Sampler or “STFU!” for short. Within the five-pack sampler is a note he has for all of his novice and seasoned cigar fans explaining this sampler. The first part of the note says, “I am tired of telling people that Sobremesa is NOT sweet tipped, many agree, but others do not believe me. So how do I price the negative? Simple, I let you taste, compare, contrast, and decide for yourself.”

However, there is a catch with this five-pack! On October 1st, 2020, Steve Saka will be going live on the Dunbarton Tobacco and Trust Facebook page to reveal which cigar is which. He wants all of us to smoke them, the debate about it, and decide for ourselves! We had a chance to smoke the five-pack sampler on a recent episode of the Long Ash Podcast, and here are our guesses! The “S” for Single Sweet Tip, “T”- is Double Sweet Tipped, “F” is the Unadulterated smoke, “U” is the Single Sweet Tip, and the exclamation point is also the unadulterated smoke!.

Make sure to stay tuned on Thursday, October 1st to hear the results of this five-pack sampler from Steve Saka and see if you guessed each cigar correctly!
